Each one of these games has a little gimmick that makes them special and helps players decide if they hate or love this game.

Well, MuTorrere, the tavern game in Vlandian towns, is one that not many fans of the game like.

So, since this game can be very hard for beginners, here is how you can win the Vlandin tavern board game, known as MuTorrere, in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord.

Table of contents

How to Win the Vlandian Tavern Board Game (MuTorrere) in Bannerlord

The first thing you should know is that we will teach you how to beat MuTorrere in Bannerlord on the Hard difficulty.

If you know how to win on the hardest difficulty, then you should be able to win on Easy and Normal as well.

Since there might be instances in quests where you might end up as the Black player, we will do this guide for this color. At Hard difficulty, who starts doesn’t matter.

All that matters in Bannerlord’s MuTerrere is who makes the first mistake. The game can only be lost if you make a mistake. The same stands for the AI as well.

The goal of the game is to block your enemy from making any moves. If you move your pieces in such a way that they are blocked, you’ve won the game.

On Hard difficulty, the game will always start the same. White will move the piece on the right to the center and you will have to follow the steps below:

  1. Move the right piece to the north.
  2. White will now move its piece to the side where your piece was. Move the piece on the left to the center.
  3. White will move their piece where you just moved it from. You will now move your central piece to the left.
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord MuTorrere Strategy 1

Now White will move one of the two pieces it moved earlier to the center. This is when you can first lose the game.

If you ever find yourself moving a piece on the side and then making three of your pieces stand one next to each other, you will lose.

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord MuTorrere Strategy 2

If you find yourself in a situation that looks like the one above, then make sure to stack the pieces in pairs and never put three pieces next to each other.

Now, for most of the game, your board will look like the image below. You will have to always move the piece that is in a similar situation as the one in the image to trick White into thinking it can get you to move three pieces together.

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord MuTorrere Strategy 3

This is when you can usually win since if they move the piece next to the pair, you can just move one of the pieces from the pair to the left, and you’ve won.

Otherwise, your goal will be to get in a similar situation and hope that White makes a mistake. This is mostly a game of patience, so there is nothing more that you can do now besides play and hope the AI lets you win.

If you still don’t truly understand how to win, try to play a few rounds to understand the game a bit by losing, and then you will understand how to use our strategy to win.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – Where to Get Charcoal https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-where-to-get-charcoal/ https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-where-to-get-charcoal/#respond Thu, 12 Jan 2023 01:19:10 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=38081 Charcoal is an incredibly important resource for the mighty blacksmiths of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord.

Whenever you want to smelt or craft a weapon in Bannerlord, you will need one piece of charcoal to get the job done.

Recommended Read: How to Open the Encyclopedia in Bannerlord

This is why charcoal is widely considered to be the most vital piece of the smithing process in Calradia.

So, here is where you can get your hands on a bunch of charcoal in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord.

Table of contents

Where to Get Charcoal in Bannerlord

Though charcoal can be bought from some towns in the game, it is usually randomly spawned, which makes it an unreliable way to obtain it.

The best way to get charcoal in Bannerlord is by refining hardwood into it. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Enter any major town on the world map and then select the smithy option.
  2. In the smithy, you will need to then head over to the “Refine” tab at the top right.
  3. Refine hardwood into charcoal.

This can be extremely profitable at the beginning of the game as you can get a lot of hardwood in Battania for around 10 to 20 denarii a piece and then sell the charcoal for around 80 a piece.

The only problem is that you will get 1 charcoal for every 2 pieces of hardwood. Luckily, you can easily fix this by getting the Level 25 Smithing perk “Efficient Charcoal Maker,” which will get you 3 charcoal per 2 hardwood refined.

Now that you have a lot of charcoal to use, it would be best to quickly level up your Smithing skill to start making a lot of money in Bannerlord.

Smithing is by far the best way to become extremely rich in Calradia, so there is no reason to pass on this opportunity.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – Best Policies to Choose https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-best-policies-to-choose/ https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-best-policies-to-choose/#respond Fri, 23 Dec 2022 21:14:28 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=37559 Once you join or create your own kingdom in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, you will need to work with the other clans of the realm to decide which policies you should all follow.

Though you might not think of these often, there are more than 30 policies to choose from, and the AI will do its best to choose the worst policies it can.

Recommended Read: Best Archers to Use in Bannerlord

This is why you should know which policies offer the best advantages and are needed to make a kingdom powerful and prosperous.

So, to make sure that your faction isn’t the worst one out there, here are the best policies you should choose in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord.

Table of contents

Best Policies to Choose in Bannerlord

Out of all 35 kingdom policies in Bannerlord, we have selected exactly 10 (in no particular order) which are the best and that you should try to implement in your faction:

S-Tier Policies (Always Get These)

Forgiveness of Debts Kingdom Policy

The Forgiveness of Debts kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Settlement Loyalty +2 per day
  • Workshop Production -5%

This policy is a no-brainer. You need to get this one. A 5% debuff to workshop output is incredibly negligible.

Especially compared to the huge +2 bonus to Loyalty per day. You need this policy to keep all of your settlements in check and let you get the real bonuses that Loyalty can offer you.

Increased Loyalty will provide you with an increased income for the town anyway, so having workshop output lowered will not actually cause you monetary problems.

Tribunes of the People Kingdom Policy

The Tribunes of the People kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Town Taxes to Ruler -5%
  • Town Loyalty +1 per day

This policy will slightly lower town income for the owners of these towns. However, it is nothing compared to the Loyalty bonus they will get daily.

Considering the amount of money they will make from the Loyalty bonus, losing 5% shouldn’t be a problem. You should get this policy every chance you get.

Castle Charters Kingdom Policy

The Castle Charters kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Castle Upgrades Cost -20%

There aren’t many policies that just offer free buffs. However, the Castle Charters policy does.

With the help of the Castle Charters kingdom policy, you will be able to construct buildings faster in Bannerlord, and you won’t get any disadvantages for it.

This policy is a no-brainer, and you should get it the first chance you get. This can help castles become a bit more relevant, as most ignore them since they are a lot less profitable than towns.

A-Tier Policies

Grazing Rights Kingdom Policy

The Grazing Rights kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

If your first priority is Prosperity, then don’t take this kingdom policy. The -0.25 modifier might sound like a minor debuff, but it is actually significant, and it will slow down your growth in villages by a lot.

However, in most scenarios, Loyalty is a resource that is hard to gain, and it would be much more useful to get your hands on it rather than on Prosperity, as they will increase hand in hand.

Sacred Majesty Kingdom Policy

The Sacred Majesty kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Ruling Clan Influence +3 per day
  • Vassal Influence -0.5 per day

This policy is incredible for players that have just started their own kingdom. This will allow them to constantly lower the Influence of your vassals, which will let you dominate all kingdom votes.

With a passive income of Influence, you can easily do whatever you want with your kingdom.

However, if you are not the ruling clan, this policy might sound horrible to you, so try to get rid of it fast. Only kings benefit from this policy.

Royal Privilege Kingdom Policy

The Royal Privilege kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Reduce Influence Cost for Overriding Votes as Ruler by 20%

This is another great policy for young kings and queens, as it will allow them to easily change the outcomes of kingdom votes.

Combine this policy with Sacred Majesty, and you will be able to rule your kingdom as if it was an autocracy and not a tribal chiefdom.

Again, if you are a vassal, reject this policy as much as you can, as it will allow the ruler of the faction to dominate you all like you don’t exist.

Precarial Land Tenure Kingdom Policy

The Precarial Land Tenure kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Reduce Influence Cost for Removal of Fiefs as Ruler by 50%

This is a weird policy, as it offers you an advantage that you probably won’t use much. It isn’t a must-have, as some of the other policies on this list, but it is interesting depending on the circumstances.

With this policy, as the ruling clan, you will have the power to always decide who controls what. So, if someone upset you, you will have an easier time removing their fiefs using this reduced-cost policy.

Since the AI never uses the ability to remove someone’s fief, if you find the kingdom clans voting for this policy, you should usually ignore it. You don’t want to waste your Influence on a policy that can be really good but situational.

Royal Guard Kingdom Policy

The Royal Guard kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Ruler Party Size +60
  • Vassal Influence -0.2 per day

If you haven’t realized yet, most policies are really good for rulers. They can get amazing advantages that will destabilize vassals forever.

By getting this policy, along with Sacred Majesty and Royal Privilege, a king can make sure that their vassals never have any say in what the kingdom does.

With the ability to bring down the Influence of your vassals and also increase the number of troops you have, this policy is a must-have for rulers.

However, as a vassal, avoid this policy at all costs. This will slowly but surely destroy your Influence reserves.

Noble Retinues Kingdom Policy

The Noble Retinues kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Tier +5 Clans -1 Influence per day
  • Clan Leaders +40 party size limit

This is an interesting policy, as it requires many of the powerful clans to give their precious Influence on a daily basis in exchange for party size.

Since we know that party size limits are very hard to increase, this policy is a must-have. The little Influence debuff won’t be a problem if you learned how to properly increase Influence.

Trial by Jury Kingdom Policy

The Trial by Jury kingdom policy in Bannerlord will offer you these modifiers:

  • Settlement Loyalty +0.5 per day
  • Settlement Security -0.2 per day
  • All Clans -1 Influence per day

Loyalty is one of the hardest stats to increase in a settlement. However, Security is closely related to Loyalty, and a low Security rating can result in low Loyalty.

This is why this policy is very volatile. If you are sure that you can keep the Security rating high, then you should get this policy instantly.

Otherwise, stay far away from it, as you can lose more than just a bit of Influence per day. The Security debuff is the only thing keeping this policy from S rank.

Combining this policy with all the other ones that lowered the Influence of most rulers would allow you to properly use the strategy to destroy a kingdom from the inside.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – Best Archer Units to Use https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-best-archer-units-to-use/ https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-best-archer-units-to-use/#respond Fri, 23 Dec 2022 16:53:28 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=37542 Before infantry and cavalry clash, archers decide the flow of the battle. With their powerful arrows, they can take out some of the most impactful troops before they even have a chance to shine.

In Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, archer units are incredibly powerful since they can shoot like snipers and kill like monsters.

Recommended Read: Bannerlord – Caravan Guide

With incredibly powerful bows and crossbows, a good squad of archers can change the whole flow of any battle.

So, we need to see exactly which ones are the best of the best. Here are the best archer units to use in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, ranked in a tier list.

Table of contents

Bannerlord Archer (Ranged) Units Tier List

All the troops listed will be the final tier of their troop tree. This is why you will mostly see tier 6 and 5 troops ranked.

These are the finest archer units in Bannerlord, from best to worst:

S Tier

Battanian Fian Champion

The Battanian have some of the worst troops in most categories. However, when it comes to ranged archer units, the Battanians have the cream of the crop.

The Battanian Fian Champion is a Tier 6 archer with a lot of arrows and a two-handed sword to destroy enemies in close combat as well.\

They have the highest Bow stat in the game (260), which is huge compared to the other troops on this list. It also has the best armor rating and the best close-combat weapon out of all of the ranged units in Bannerlord.

The Battanian Fian Champion is such a good troop that even the Battanian Fian, its lower-tier evolution, is better than all the units on this list. There is no better archer in terms of everything than the Battanian Fian Champion.

If you love foot archers, then the Battanian Fian Champion should always be a part of your army. There is no one that can compare.

A Tier

Aserai Master Archer

Following the Battanian Fian Champion, most archer units might seem underwhelming. However, the Aserai Master Archer is actually a very good troop and can be more easily obtainable due to its lower tier.

It has a really good Bow skill (160) and wields a powerful bow that can deal 62 pierce damage. Its gambestone is decent and will protect it from most attacks as well.

The Aserai Master Archer is a good choice for anyone that spends most of their time in Aserai lands and wants some troops to keep the cavalry away.

Imperial Palatine Guard

The Imperials always have really good troops. Their culture can dominate all of the others quite easily, considering the units they have at their feet.

This is no different for archers, as the Imperial Palatine Guard is an amazing ranged unit for your party.

Their Bow skill is 140, which is lower than the Aserai Master Archer. However, their armor is really strong, and their bow deals 66 pierce damage.

Since they are sturdier than the Aserai Master Archer and can deal more damage, they deserve the same ranking, even with their lower accuracy.

B Tier

Veteran Sword Sister

Though this might be a bit controversial, the Veteran Sword Sister has to be the best crossbow-wielding unit in the game.

It has a lower damage output than the other crossbow troops in the game, but it has the best Crossbow skill rating (150), has a really good shield, and is the easiest to obtain.

Since you can get a tier 3 Sisterhood Follower from any tavern, you only need to get two upgrades to get the Veteran Sword Sister, allowing you to get your hands on many of these units fast.

If the Veteran Sword Sister had the damage potential of all the other crossbow units in the game, they would have been part of A tier easily.

Vlandian Sharpshooter

Though we would love to put Vlandian Sharpshooters up a tier, their low amount of bolts is too much of a disadvantage compared to the other archers on the list.

Bowmen have an advantage over crossbowmen only because they have more missiles. This is why most crossbowmen have gotten such a bad rating in this tier list.

However, the Vlandian Sharpshooter can insta kill any enemy that it hits. Their 18 bolts will most likely get 18 kills if they don’t miss.

They also have really good close-range weapons, which allows them to dominate in sieges. This is why you should mainly use units such as the Vlandian Sharpshooters for defensive sieges.

C Tier

Sturgian Veteran Bowman

Sturgians usually like to disappoint, and it is true for archers as well. Their Sturgian Veteran Bowman isn’t bad, but it isn’t impressive either.

It has a decent Bow skill (140), and it deals decent damage (52 pierce). However, this is really weak compared to the other troops of the same tier.

Since you are close enough, you would do better to get either an Imperial Palatine Guard or an Aserai Master Archer rather than this unit.

There is an advantage to the Sturgian Veteran Bowman, and that is their above-average armor rating.

Khuzait Marksman

The Khuzait have only one unit that can be considered the best archer in the game, and that isn’t the Khuzait Marksman.

However, since this is a list of the best archers, not horse archers, in Bannerlord, we will have to upset the Khuzait fans and give them a bad ranking on this list.

There aren’t many reasons that made us consider the Khuzait Marksmen to be average. It is more that they are not unique in any way.

Their bow is really good (62 pierce). However, their armor is really weak, and their close-range saber isn’t that good.

Also, it would be better to always strive to get Khuzait Khan’s Guards if you want to get an archer like the Khuzaits.

Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman

Crossbowmen are just not that good compared to normal ranged troops. The Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman is worse than most other crossbowmen, making it get a really bad spot in this tier list.

Imperial troops dominate Bannerlord. However, the Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman looks like it can take a hit or two, but it actually has below-average armor.

Combined with the fact that their crossbow is weaker than that of the Vlandian Sharpshooter, the Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman is just not the ranged unit you should get from the Imperial troop tree.

Elite Hired Crossbow

The Elite Hired Crossbow shouldn’t be considered the worst archer unit in the game, as it is very good in combat.

This is why the ranking ends at C, as there are no high-tier archer troops in Bannerlord that could be considered bad.

The Elite Hired Crossbow has really good armor, a very powerful crossbow, and bolts, and has the weapons to survive in close combat.

The only reason why the Elite Crossbow doesn’t get a better rating in this tier list is due to their high costs compared to the normal troops.

It would be better to get the Veteran Sword Sister if you really wanted to get mercenary crossbow units, as they offer more advantages overall.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – Caravan Guide: How to Start, Best Place, Etc. https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-caravan-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-caravan-guide/#respond Wed, 07 Dec 2022 22:22:53 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=36953 There are many ways to make money in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, but there are two that will usually stand out and will be sought after by the players.

Opening workshops and starting caravans are the most obvious choices when it comes to making money in Calradia passively.

Recommended Read: How to Change Appearance in Bannerlord

The problem is that both are quite hard to understand sometimes, and they make no profit when they should be money-making machines.

Well, to get over that stump, here is an extensive caravan guide for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord to make you the richest lord in all of Calradia.

Table of contents

What is a caravan in Bannerlord?

A caravan is a small party of traders that travel from town to town in all of Calradia to buy and sell items to make a profit.

There are hundreds of caravans that are traveling around the map daily in Bannerlord even without your intervention.

What they do is create stability in most markets, as they make sure that items that are priced too high or low will be brought down or up.

How to start a caravan in Bannerlord

To start a caravan in Bannerlord, all you need to do is head into a town and talk to one of the notables that aren’t an outlaw.

Out of the options, select the “I wish to form a caravan in this town” option. You will have to either pay 15k denars to form the caravan or pay 22k to form a higher-tier party.

Though it sounds good to have better troops in the caravan, the leader of the party won’t replace high-tier lost troops with units of the same level.

This means that, in a year or two, the caravan will have the same troops as a normal caravan, making the initial extra 7k investment useless.

Once you select to start a caravan, you will have to select the leader of this party, which will be one of your companions.

There are only 5 skills that matter when selecting your caravan leader. Your companion will need Trade, Scouting, Riding, Tactics, and Medicine.

The priority for the skills is shown in their order. Trade is vital and is the most important one out of the bunch.

Medicine is a nice skill to have, but not vital, being the least important for a caravan leader out of those 5 skills.

If you are looking to recruit a wanderer just to lead a caravan, look for the skills listed above, prioritizing the first couple of skills.

Best place to start a caravan in Bannerlord

Depending on your circumstances, any place in Bannerlord is good to start your caravan.

At the start of the game, the economy of Calradia is crazy, as it fluctuates in every direction. After around 100 to 200 days, the economy will start to stabilize.

This is usually the moment when you should start a caravan, and where you start doesn’t matter that much since the party will travel all over the world.

If you are at war with a faction, it would be best to start your caravan as far away from them as possible.

Otherwise, you can start your caravan anywhere.

How to fix caravan not making money in Bannerlord

There are many factors that can influence how much money your caravan is making in Bannerlord.

Normally, a caravan should be able to make you at least 250 denars a day. If it isn’t, that means you are doing something wrong.

Starting more than one caravan from the same town

One problem many players face is that they start more than one caravan from the same town. This can instantly ruin all the chances of your secondary caravans making money.

Starting more than one caravan from the same town will result in the secondary caravans trading the scraps of the first one.

They will buy the same goods but at worse prices and will sell the same items for a measly profit.

Bad skills for your caravan leader

Another problem that can easily destroy your profit is having a caravan leader that doesn’t have the right skill set for the job.

Besides all other skills, Trade and Scouting are vital if you want your caravan to make money. Luckily, both skills will level up very fast for your caravan leader during their travels.

You just have to make sure that they have enough focus points in those skills so that they can actually level up and get some of the better perks in those skill trees.

Being at war

The worst thing that you can do if you want your caravans to be profitable in Bannerlord is to be at war.

Being at war allows powerful lords and ladies of the realm to raid and destroy your caravans if they stumble into them.

This is why skills such as Scouting and Riding are vital for caravan leaders, as they have to quickly get away from hostile forces.

However, no matter how fast they are, if there are more parties around, they will be caught, or they will waste a lot of time just running from them.

This means that caravans are only a profitable business when at peace. If you try to make money with caravans during wartime, make sure you start them as far away as possible from your enemy.

If you’re lucky, the caravan will spend its time in faraway lands while you deal with your enemies.

However, no one has time, while at war, to head to the other side of the continent just to set up a caravan and then head back.

So, if you want to successfully use caravans in Bannerlord, avoid war as much as you can. If you do, they will start making you even 1k denars a day.

Either you used the wrong haircut, or their tattoo doesn’t look as cool as it did when you saw it for the first time.

Either way, you should always have the ability to change how your character looks in a game. Otherwise, you will just have to start over and try again.

Well, luckily, we know exactly how you can change your character appearance in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord and all you need to do is press one button!

Table of contents

How to change character appearance on PC in Bannerlord

If you are playing Bannerlord on the PC, then changing your character appearance will be incredibly easy.

All you need to do to change character appearance in Bannerlord is to press the “V” key on your keyboard. This will open the character customization menu you saw when you first started the game.

Now you can change every little aspect of your character, such as height, face, hair, and even weight.

Since this is the exact customizer from the start of the playthrough, you can change absolutely everything about your character’s appearance in this menu.

You can’t change your name and banner here since those can be changed in other, different ways.

How to change character appearance on PlayStation and Xbox in Bannerlord

If you are a Bannerlord PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series player, we have bad news for you.

One of the developers stated that “there are not enough keys on the controller,” so they decided not to add the character customization button that PC players have.

They also said that “Even if there was a way to add the extra button mapping to the controller it would not be available for consoles sadly.”

However, there are two solutions that can either fix your problem entirely or just mend it a bit. The first solution would be to plug a keyboard into your PS or Xbox and use the instructions for PC.

You can connect a keyboard using a USB cable or stick and press “V” to open the menu, and then you can just unplug and continue as before.

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord How to change appearance Barber location

Or, there is another solution that can let you change your hair only. If you visit any town in the game and find a Barber, they will change your haircut and beard for 100 denars.

This doesn’t necessarily solve the problem but if you only wanted to change these two aspects, then the Barber will get it done.

The Barber is usually standing next to the other merchants in the town, next to a chair where customers can sit.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – Difference Between Campaign and Sandbox Mode https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-difference-between-campaign-and-sandbox-mode/ https://gamerempire.net/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-difference-between-campaign-and-sandbox-mode/#respond Tue, 06 Dec 2022 19:57:36 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=36904 When you start up Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, you are faced with a choice from the start: will you play a new campaign or sandbox mode?

Well, it would be easier to choose if you actually had any idea what the difference was between them.

Recommended Read: What Are the Best Weapons to Use in Bannerlord?

Since both offer different advantages and disadvantages, you would do well to understand how each works before starting the game.

So, we are going to explain exactly what the difference is between the campaign and sandbox mode in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord to simplify your choice.

Table of contents

How sandbox mode works in Bannerlord

If you have ever played Mount and Blade: Warband before, you know how that game is supposed to start.

You are a wanderer with no relevant backstory whatsoever that can change everything in Calradia.

Well, in Bannerlord, sandbox mode is where you can start as a nobody with no existing family or friends and live your life exactly how you want to live it.

There is no main quest, no special, interesting plot, nothing. You get to choose your age, which can come with great advantages if you start old, and you get to do whatever you want.

Sandbox mode in Bannerlord is exactly how Mount and Blade used to work in the past. You are a nobody with no higher calling, and you can do anything you wish.

How the campaign works in Bannerlord

In the campaign mode, players will start with an older brother and two younger siblings, one male and another female.

There is also a story where you first have to try to save your family, and you stumble into a banner that will allow you to legitimately conquer half of the map.

As you wander around Calradia, you will have to talk to a lot of nobles to hear about a battle that, we are sorry to say, but most players don’t care about and continue this plot until things actually get interesting.

Later in the game, there will be secret plots, new troops which you can’t normally find in the game, and an all-out war between you and three factions of your choosing.

The story can get very interesting in the later stages but lacks a lot of flair in the beginning.

The difference between campaign and sandbox mode in Bannerlord

The advantage of choosing the campaign start is that you will start with a family, which can keep your clan alive for a long time if you have character deaths on.

You also have a general goal, which will help new players a lot if they are new to the game. They will get to explore the map and slowly advance through the game.

However, you are going to start at the same age no matter what and will have to try to complete a lot of time-limited quests that aren’t really that interesting.

If you choose sandbox mode, the only real problem, besides missing the whole plot of the game, is that you can’t get achievements.

Luckily, there are a few mods that allow players to still get achievements while playing sandbox or while using mods, so this can easily be fixed.

Otherwise, if you don’t care about the story and want to build your clan from the ground up alone, sandbox mode is the way to go.

With so many types of weapons in the game, such as bows, swords, axes, and polearms, you need to know which one is the best for each category.

Recommended Read: Bannerlord – Battle Formations Guide

This is why we went through each weapon in the game to see which ones were the best to use for each play style you want to try out.

So, here are the best weapons to use in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, along with their stats and respective value.

Table of contents

Best crossbow in Bannerlord

Crossbows are considered some of the most modern weaponry in Bannerlord, and they deal damage that shows that. If you are a crossbow fan, then you know how much one can dominate in a siege or battle.

The best and most powerful crossbow in Bannerlord is the Bound Crossbow. It has the highest requirement in the crossbow skill and has the following stats:

  • Damage: 100 Pierce
  • Accuracy: 100
  • Speed: 63
  • Value: 10k Denars
  • Requires: Crossbow 70
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Bound Crossbow

The only problem with this weapon is that you can’t reload on horseback.

Best crossbow on horseback

The best crossbow that you can use on a horse is slightly weaker than the earlier crossbow, but it can shoot faster.

These are the stats of the Fine Light Crossbow:

  • Damage: 85 Pierce
  • Accuracy: 90
  • Speed: 80
  • Value: 5k Denars
  • Requires: Crossbow 40
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Fine Light Crossbow

Using this crossbow will allow you to be versatile and still shoot accurately at your enemies with relatively low requirements.

Best bow in Bannerlord

If you are a big fan of overwhelming your enemies from a distance, the bow should be your chosen weapon. With the ability to shoot fast and hard, the bow can easily turn battles around in an instant.

The best bow in all of Bannerlord is the Noble Long Bow that Battanians like to use. This weapon has some decently high requirements but will allow you to destroy your enemies easily, as long as you don’t want to use it on horseback.

Here are the stats for the Noble Long Bow:

  • Damage: 95 Pierce
  • Accuracy: 98
  • Speed: 91
  • Value: 17k Denars
  • Requires: Bow 70
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Noble Long Bow

Best bow on horseback

If you want to summon your inner Khuzait, you will need the Noble Bow to shoot from horseback. This bow is very powerful and fast, allowing you to decimate your enemies while skirmishing.

Here are the stats for this small, versatile bow:

  • Damage: 80 Pierce
  • Accuracy: 100
  • Speed: 94
  • Value: 8k Denars
  • Requires: Bow 70
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Noble Bow

Best one-handed sword in Bannerlord

When it comes to one-handed swords in Bannerlord, one of the most important aspects is speed, alongside damage. If you can quickly swipe at your enemies and also deal decent damage, then you got your hands on a very good one-handed sword.

The best one-handed sword in Bannerlord has to be the Engraved Backsword. With really good speed and swing damage, this is the one you should aspire to use alongside your trusty shield:

  • Swing Damage: 103 Cut
  • Swing Speed: 82
  • Thrust Damage: 42 Pierce
  • Thrust Speed: 88
  • Value: 13k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Engraved Backsword

Best two-handed sword in Bannerlord

If you want to hit hard and dominate the battlefield, the two-handed sword should be your weapon of choice in Bannerlord.

The best two-handed sword that you can use in the game has to be the Broad Kaskara. With one of the biggest lengths and swing damage output out of all the swords, there is no better choice if you want to destroy everything in your path:

  • Swing Damage: 116 Cut
  • Swing Speed: 96
  • Thrust Damage: 41 Pierce
  • Thrust Speed: 97
  • Value: 16k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Broad Kaskara

Best axe in Bannerlord

Now, if you really want to deal massive damage and ignore any type of defense, the two-handed axe should be your favorite weapon in Bannerlord.

The Heavy Executioner Axe has to be the best one in Bannerlord, as it has amazing reach and will most likely deal only insta kills with this damage output.

  • Swing Damage: 116 Cut
  • Swing Speed: 96
  • Value: 13k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Heavy Executioner Axe

Best polearm in Bannerlord

There is an endless debate when it comes to polearms in Bannerlord, should you stab with them or swing them?

Well, after a full playthrough as a Khuzait, we know for sure that swinging a polearm from the back of a horse is the best way to use this weapon. This is why the best polearm in Bannerlord has to be the Long Glaive:

  • Swing Damage: 182 Cut
  • Swing Speed: 70
  • Thrust Damage: 40 Pierce
  • Thrust Speed: 95
  • Value: 11k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Long Glaive

With the help of this weapon, you will only get instant kills every time you hit someone.

Best throwing weapon in Bannerlord

When it comes to throwing weapons, we consider that damage is the most important factor when deciding which armament is the best.

Well, after looking through all the javelins, knives, and axes, we have come to the conclusion that the Triangular Throwing Spear is the best throwing weapon in Bannerlord:

  • Damage: 142 Pierce
  • Accuracy: 92
  • Value: 12k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Triangular Throwing Spear

Best shield in Bannerlord

There is nothing more important than having a good, trusty shield to protect you from endless projectiles.

The normal problem is that players expect a big good shield to also be heavy, so most have to decide between a smaller shield and a bigger, heavier one.

However, the best shield in Bannerlord, which also offers the most protection in the game, is the Tall Heater Shield:

  • Hit Points: 540
  • Speed: 85
  • Value: 35k Denars
Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Best Weapons Tall Heater Shield

This shield is big, it will cover a large area when used, and is also relatively light, with a 2.1 weight rating. With the help of this shield, you will be able to withstand a barrage of arrows and spears with no problems.
