The current rankings in this tier list are calculated based on rankings by AyumiLove, ASH, and HellHades, as well as the RAID: Shadow Legends community.

While the top-rated champions will all do well in the game and can be used in end-game compositions, it’s more important to build a team with a strong synergy, CC, and setup, rather than just having a team full of “top-rated champions”. Learn more about these factors in our RAID: Shadow Legends team building guide.

Explanation of tiers

S Tier – The very best champions in the game. Champions in the S tier will perform well on any team, and thus you can safely invest many resources into these champions. S+ champions go even beyond this and are unbelievably strong in the game.

A Tier – Champions in this tier are above average and have a lot of potential. You can safely use these champions on your team, especially if they have great synergy with other champions currently on your team.

B Tier – These champions perform as you’d expect; they aren’t strong per se, but they aren’t weak either. If you a champion with a specific role, ability, etc., you can look for them here if need be.

C Tier – In the C tier, you’ll find champions who are underperforming, and thus resources shouldn’t be invested heavily into these champions.

D Tier – Champions in the D tier are not great. If you have any of these on your team, you should aim to replace them if you wish to maximize your team’s potential.

F Tier – The weakest champions with the least impact reside in this tier. You only want to use them if you have no other option.

Best Attack, HP, Defense, and Support Champions Ranking

When building your perfect team, you’ll likely find yourself in the situation of needing a champion of a specific role to balance out your team.

To help you out, we’re featuring some of the best champions from each role in this section. Note that a strong team for a specific part of the game doesn’t necessarily contain champions of all roles.

We have, however, found that having too many champions of the same role can be damaging to the team. Usually, it’s best to bring a variety of roles.

Best Attack champions

As the name suggests, champions of the attack role specialize in dishing out tons of damage at the enemy, but often at the expense of not having buffs and high defenses.

Nevertheless, attackers are crucial for having enough damage to take down the enemy.

Here are some of the very best attackers in the game:

  • Acrizia
  • Dracomorph
  • Leorius the Proud
  • Nethril

Best HP champions

Champions of the HP role have a higher HP stat and defenses than other roles.

HP champions possess powerful healing abilities and buffs that increase the defenses of the entire team.

Because of this, HP champions are great for avoiding your team getting taken out too quickly because of a lack of tankiness.

Some of the best HP champions in the game are:

  • Sir Nicholas
  • Taras the Fierce
  • Miscreated Monster
  • Ursuga Warcaller

Best Defense champions

Similar to the HP category, defense champions possess buffs that increase the defenses and stats of ally champions.

Champions of the defense role usually also possess skills that place debuffs on the enemy or skills that protect allies from damage.

Some of the best Defense champions in the game are:

  • Krisk the Ageless
  • Valkyrie
  • Nekhret the Great
  • Kyoku
  • Martyr
  • Visix the Unbowed

Best Support champions

Support champions excel at, as their role suggests, supporting ally champions.

They possess skills that buff ally champions stats, including attack stats and critical rate, which HP and Defense champions usually do not.

Many support champions can decrease the duration of enemy buffs and debuffs on ally champions as well.

Some of the best support champions in Raid: Shadow Legends are:

  • Lydia the Deathsiren
  • Warlord
  • Underpriest Brogni
  • Marichka the Unbreakable
  • Mithrala Lifebane
  • Arbiter
  • Bad-El-Kazar
  • Prince Kymar
  • Arbiter
  • Lyssandra
  • Venus

RAID: Shadow Legends – Doom Tower Guide: Wiki, Best Teams https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-doom-tower-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-doom-tower-guide/#respond Sun, 06 Feb 2022 14:32:25 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=25226 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

The Doom Tower in RAID: Shadow Legend is an area that you unlock upon reaching account level 40.

It is one of the toughest challenges to take on in the game, consisting of 120 levels, 12 of which feature a special boss.

Play Raid Shadow Legends on PC button

When you’re strong enough to push floors in the Doom Tower, there are tons of great rewards for you waiting to be earned.

Recommended Read: RAID: Shadow Legends – Arena Guide

Right when you unlock Doom Tower, you might be surprised, as chances are that the floors are quite a bit harder than where you currently are in the Campaign.

In this guide, we give you all the information that you need on the Doom Tower in RAID: Shadow Legends, from what rewards you can get to what the best teams to use are.

Table of contents

What is Doom Tower

Doom Tower is a series of floors, each of which features powerful enemies and some bosses. The higher the floor you face, the more powerful the foes are.

To challenge a floor, you must have defeated all floors below it first.

There are 120 regular floors in the Doom Tower, 12 of which feature a boss.

On top of the 120 regular floors, there are 12 special rooms, which feature special rules and rewards but are not required to be defeated to move on to the next floor.

The Doom Tower resets monthly, at which point the rotation of enemies and bosses changes, meaning that you’ll face new enemies and bosses on each floor. What floors you face a boss stays the same.

There are two difficulties in the Doom Tower – Normal and Hard.

You unlock the Doom Tower when your account level reaches 40.

How to fight in the Doom Tower

To fight in the Doom Tower, click the BATTLE button in the bottom-right corner when in the Bastion, and select Doom Tower on the far right.

Inside the Doom Tower, choose the floor that you wish to challenge, set up your team, and click Start.

Before you can challenge a floor, you must have defeated every floor below it, not including secret rooms.

You must, of course, also have reached account level 40 to unlock Doom Tower before you can fight there.

Floors without bosses cost one golden key to access for the first time in a new rotation, and floors with bosses and secret rooms cost one silver key the first time you access them in a new rotation.

Once you’ve spent a key attempting to defeat a floor, you don’t lose more keys by trying again and again if you didn’t defeat it on the first go.

If you choose to farm the same boss floor over and over after defeating it, it costs one silver key per run.

The actual battles inside the Doom Tower play out like regular campaign levels with three rounds of enemies. On boss floors, the third round features a boss.

The difference between Campaign levels and floors in the Doom Tower is that you can find much stronger teams of enemies in the Doom Tower. Enemy teams in the Doom Tower consist of 5 enemies, not 4 like in the Campaign.

The two difficulties of Doom Tower – Normal and Hard mode are two separate series of floors, just like the Campaign. What you do in Normal mode won’t affect floors in Hard mode and vice versa.

Chances are, though, that you’ll be struggling even with Normal mode right when you unlock the Doom Tower. So we recommend that you wait till you’ve become much stronger before you face Hard mode.

Floors without bosses cannot be reaccessed until the next reset after you’ve beaten it, but floors with bosses can be farmed over and over after you’ve beaten them.

How to get Doom Tower keys

You get 10 of each type of Doom Tower key every single day in RAID: Shadow Legends at daily reset.

Other ways to get Doom Tower keys in the game include rewards from advanced quests and rewards from clearing secret rooms in the Doom Tower.

Because you get both types of Doom Tower keys filled up for free every single day, we recommend that you spend as many of them as you can daily.

Right when you unlock the Doom Tower, you might not be able to spend any, though, as you might not be strong enough to clear any floors in there yet.

Once you’re strong enough, it’s important for your progression in the game that you spend your daily keys to get as much out of the Doom Tower as possible.

Doom Tower rewards

You get several useful rewards that are important to your progress from defeating floors in the Doom Tower.

Some of the rewards that you can get from Doom Tower cannot be obtained elsewhere or are difficult to obtain from other parts of the game.

You can see what rewards a specific floor in the Doom Tower gives in the top-right corner of the floor’s icon.

Usually, you get more than just one of the items or resources displayed.

Like the enemies on each floor rotate every time Doom Tower is reset, so are the rewards.

Here is a list of all the various rewards that you can get from stages in the Doom Tower, including secret stages:

  • Rank charms
  • Rarity charms
  • Type charms
  • Substat charms
  • Chickens
  • Gems
  • Champion fragments
  • Silver
  • Glyphs
  • XP brews
  • Silver keys
  • Crafting materials
  • Potions
  • Energy
  • Skill books
  • Shards
  • XP boosts
  • Champions

The crafting materials for artifacts that you can get from floors in the Doom Tower can only be obtained there.

As every single reward that is listed above is useful and will help you progress through the game, we highly recommend starting to clear as much of the Doom Tower as you can each reset.

Secret rooms

On top of the 120 regular floors in the Doom Towers, there are 12 secret floors, known as secret rooms.

Secret rooms are located above every 10th floor starting from floor 5, meaning above 5th floor, 15th floor, 25th floor, and so on. Instead of the regular #F notation, secret rooms have an SR# notation on them.

The secret rooms are extra stages in the Doom Tower, which means that you do not have to clear them to move onto the next floor.

If you can, we do, however, recommend that you clear secret rooms, as they give you great rewards.

Secret rooms give both 2 silver keys and champion fragments as a reward.

It is harder to clear secret rooms, though, as they feature special rules.

The first secret room in the Normal mode of Doom Tower, for example, only allows you to bring rare champions.

It costs one silver key to start a secret room for the first time. You do, however, get two silver keys upon clearing it, which means that you’ll end up with one more silver key.

Best champions to use in Doom Tower

Enemies in the Doom Tower are much stronger than those you’ll face throughout the entirety of the Brutal mode of the Campaign, and the teams that you’ll face on each floor have 5 champions instead of the familiar 4.

Therefore, it’s only natural that some of your champions might be struggling in the Doom Tower, especially against floors with bosses, which are the toughest.

It’s more important to use a strong combination of champions that work well together in the Doom Tower rather than just five strong champions.

Here are some of the best champions to use on your team in the Doom Tower that are sure to help you clear more floors:

  • Arbiter
  • Drexthar Bloodtwin
  • Warlord
  • Var-Gall
  • Doompriest
  • Visix the Unbowed
  • Scyl of the Drakes
  • Lydia the Deathsiren
  • Jareg

Which champions are best to use in the Doom Tower depends heavily on what boss you are facing. All of these are strong picks that are likely to be useful in any situation but might not be against all bosses.

On a lot of the earlier floors in the Doom Tower, it’s possible to do well with any roster of strong champions, even if they don’t synergize particularly well. You can find how strong a champion is in our RAID: Shadow Legends tier list.

Later on, though, you need to consider the skills and mechanics of bosses and enemies and use team compositions built to counter them. Otherwise, you’re going to have a tough time climbing the Doom Tower.

The higher in the Doom Tower you make it, the more important a strong team composition becomes, even against floors without bosses. Especially in the hard mode of Doom Tower.

Best teams for Doom Tower

As you make your way through the Doom Tower, you’ll quickly fínd that you can’t just use any team of champions.

The composition of champions on it has to synergize and counter the mechanics and skills of the enemies and bosses you face.

Through most of the Normal mode, you be able to run any five champions as long as they are individually strong and close to maxed out, but at least in the Hard mode, you need to build specific teams.

You’ll also find that different floors require different team compositions, given the unique challenges bosses and enemies present.

Because there are so many different floors and bosses in the Doom Tower, we’ve gathered a long list of team examples that do well against different bosses and stages in the Doom Tower:

  • Magma Dragon: Zavia, Arbiter, Scyl of the Drakes, Var-Gall, Coldheart. Team by EliteGuy.
  • Scarab King: Urost, Var-Gall, Iron Brago, Lord Champfort, Geomancer. Team by Dirtbag Gaming.
  • Nether Spider: Astralon, Scyl of the Drake, Visix the Unbowed, Mausoleum Mage, Mordecai. Team by StewGaming.
  • Frost Spider: Leorius, Elenaril, Medame Serris, Magnarr, Ithos. Team by boomer.
  • Celestial Griffin: Drexthar Bloodtwin, Hurndig, Ninja, Kreela, Scyl of the Drakes. Team by BGE.
  • Eternal Dragon: Drexthar Bloodtwin, Jareg, Doompriest, Vrask, Apothecary. Team by StewGaming.
  • Dreadhorn: Magnarr, Vrask, Doompriest, Godseeker Aniri, Vogoth. Team by MurderInc.
  • Dark Fae: Deacon Armstrong, Alure, Ninja, Hurndig, Kreela. Team by BGE.
  • Floor 114 + 119: Whisper, Scyl of the Drakes, Visix the Unbowed, Lydia the Deathsiren, Psylar. Team by StewGaming.

All these teams are created by top RAID: Shadow Legends players.

They are all designed to be strong enough to take down the Hard mode version of each boss, given that they’re properly built.

Because these teams are designed for Hard mode, you can get away with a not as strong a setup against Normal mode bosses.

When building a team for a specific floor or boss in the Doom Tower, we recommend you keep our overall team building advice in mind, as well as what challenges that specific boss or floor presents and try to counter that.

RAID: Shadow Legends – Great Hall Guide: Stats to Upgrade, Wiki https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-great-hall-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-great-hall-guide/#respond Thu, 03 Feb 2022 10:23:40 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=25143 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

The Great Hall building in RAID: Shadow Legends is where you can spend Arena Medals to unlock permanent stat boosts for champions of specific affinities.

Given that the boosts you get from the Great Hall are permanent, we recommend that you start focusing on it early to speed up your progression rate.

Play Raid Shadow Legends on PC button

You can start farming Medals from the Arena as soon as you start playing the game, while the Great Hall itself is unlocked a little later.

Once you’ve upgraded a stat boost in the Great Hall, you cannot revert your decision. Therefore, you should give it some thought before you spend your Medals.

In short, you want to prioritize ACC, C. DMG, and RESIST, then start going for DEF, HP, and lastly, ATK. Because of the way cost per level upgraded increases, you shouldn’t max out one boost at a time – find more information below.

What is the Great Hall?

The Great Hall in RAID: Shadow Legends is a building where you can spend Medals earned in the Arena to unlock permanent stat boosts for your champions.

There are several stat boosts to unlock, and each stat boost has a separate row for each affinity in the game.

Only champions of the affinity corresponding to the stat boost you’ve unlocked will get the stat boost.

The boosts that you get from the Great Hall are fantastic, making it worth your while to focus on it right from the start of the game.

The Great Hall isn’t unlocked right when you start playing the game. It is unlocked when you reach account level 6.

Great Hall stat boosts overview

There are 6 different stats to upgrade in the Great Hall, each of which has a separate bonus slot for each affinity for a total of 24 bonus slots to upgrade.

Here are the different stats that you can boost in the Great Hall:

  • HP
  • ATK
  • DEF
  • C. DMG
  • RESIST
  • ACC

You can learn what each stat does in our RAID: Shadow Legends Stats Guide.

Every stat boost for each affinity can be upgraded to the maximum level of 10.

The higher the level you upgrade a boost, the greater the stat boost it gives.

In the following table, you can see a complete overview of what each type of stat boost gives at each level.

Stat boost priority

You cannot revert your upgrade in the Great Hall and get your Medals back, so we recommend that you choose the right upgrades from the beginning.

Don’t worry, though. If you’ve upgraded some boosts that weren’t high on the priority list, just start upgrading the better upgrades from now on.

Either way, you will be upgrading all boosts at some point if you keep playing the game, so you can’t screw anything up. Only slow down your progress a bit at worst.

For new players, it’s tempting to upgrade ATK and HP first, as they are great stats to have in most games. But, these are not the stats that you should prioritize.

The following order is how you should prioritize your stat boost upgrades in the Great Hall in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  1. ACC
  2. C. DMG
  3. RESIST
  4. DEF
  5. HP
  6. ATK

There are several reasons why you want to prioritize the stats boost in the Great Hall like this.

First of all, the three stat boosts on the right side, C. DMG, RESIST, and ACC, all give higher stat boosts per Medal spent at the same levels compared to the three stat boosts on the left side, HP, ATK, and DEF.

Secondly, Accuracy is an incredibly important stat in RAID: Shadow Legends that almost every single champion needs quite a bit of.

Later on in the game, Resist will be much needed to withstand enemy debuffs, making it a stat all champions will benefit from.

Unlike many other RPG games, not all champions in RAID: Shadow Legends benefit from a higher ATK stat. Some champions’ attacks are based on their DEF stat or their HP stat, meaning that a higher ATK stat for them will not increase their damage output one bit.

Critical damage boost, however, will increase the damage output of every single champion, as it just increases the damage of critical hits, not the stats that determine the base damage of skills.

Furthermore, you want to build 100% critical rate on attacker champions, meaning that any critical damage boost that you give them will directly impact the damage output of every single attack they throw out.

The last three stat boosts on the left side, HP, ATK, and DEF are all great stat boosts as well but should be prioritized last.

Once you start upgrading them, we recommend that you start with defense, as it not only increases the damage output of your DEF-based champions but also makes every single champion that you have tankier.

Upgrading the HP bonus slot in the Great Hall is a similar story to upgrading defense, as it both increases the damage of HP-based champions as well as makes all your other champions tankier.

Generally, you’ll a champion will benefit more in terms of tankiness from defense than HP, which is why we recommend that you prioritize defense before HP.

Attack is the last stat that we recommend you prioritize, as it only increases the damage output of attack-based champions.

What stat priority is the best to go for could, however, be different for you. The priority listed above is a general recommendation, which is sure to bring you great results. But, in certain situations, you might be better off prioritizing differently.

If you, for example, have an incredibly strong attack-based champion that carries you in all aspects of the game, it might be better to prioritize ACC, then C. DMG, and then ATK. It depends on your team.

What the best affinities to upgrade bonuses for are, of course, depends on what champions you have and use.

Besides prioritizing what stats to upgrade first, you should also consider how far to upgrade each stat boost before upgrading another.

You don’t want to upgrade just one stat boost to level 10 before you start upgrading another one. Medal costs increase rapidly with large jumps at some levels.

If you’re still at a relatively early point in the game, we recommend that you upgrade a stat boost to level 3 before moving on to the next one. Once you’ve progressed a bit into the game, start upgrading stat boosts to level 6 before moving onto the next level.

At upgrades from levels 3 to 4 and 5 to 6, you’ll see the largest Medal cost increases compared to the previous level.

You can see both actual Medal cost increase and percentage increase for each upgrade level in the table later in this guide.

How to get Medals

You get Medals, also known as Arena Medals, by winning matches in the Classic Arena, which is the PvP system in RAID: Shadow Legends.

The number and type of Medals that you get from winning a match depends on what your current Classic Arena tier is.

If you lose a match, you do not get any Medals, but you still lose the Arena key that you spent to start the battle.

Therefore, we recommend trying to only do the battles that you know that you can win to maximize your rewards.

The fastest way to get a lot of Medals and fill up your Great Hall bonuses is to get to a higher Arena tier and keep winning matches there.

You’ll start earning Silver Medals and later Gold Medals as you climb the ranks in the Arena, both of which count for more than Bronze Medals.

Here you can see what type and what number of Medals you get from winning a match in each tier in the Classic Arena:

  • Bronze I = 1 Bronze Medal
  • Bronze II = 1 Bronze Medal
  • Bronze III = 2 Bronze Medals
  • Bronze IV = 2 Bronze Medals
  • Silver I = 1 Silver Medal
  • Silver II = 2 Silver Medals
  • Silver III = 2 Silver Medals
  • Silver IV = 3 Silver Medals
  • Gold I = 2 Gold Medals
  • Gold II = 2 Gold Medals
  • Gold III = 3 Gold Medals
  • Gold IV = 4 Gold Medals
  • Platinum = 5 Gold Medals

What tier you want to reach with your current team setup can be a hard balance.

Of course, you want to get as many Medals as possible from each key.

But, if you don’t have time to wait for refreshes over and over, and have to take matches that you cannot win, then you might end up with fewer Medals earned than were you in a lower tier where you could win all 10 matches.

If you believe you would get more Medals if you were in a lower tier because of easier opponents and not enough time to wait for refreshes, then you can put just one level 1 champion in your defense setup.

Medal cost per stat boost level

The Medal cost of upgrading stat boosts in the Great Hall sharply increases per level.

Because of the sharply increasing cost, you don’t want to max a stat boost before upgrading another one.

Especially at certain levels, the cost of upgrading a stat boost to the next increases massively.

The Medal type cost also changes at some levels, which can be deceiving in regards to just how much more expensive it suddenly is to level up a stat boost.

Here is the ratio between Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals in terms of what they’re worth against each other:

  • 1 Bronze Medal = 1 Bronze Medal
  • 1 Silver Medal = 2 Bronze Medals
  • 1 Gold Medal = 2 Silver Medals = 4 Bronze Medals

In the following table, we’ve both displayed and calculated the cost of upgrading a stat boost from one level to the next, denominated in all three Medal types.

From levelBronze Medal CostSilver Medal CostGold Medal CostIncrease in Bronze MedalsPercentage Increase
0 -> 15025*12,5*--

8 -> 93600*1800*90040013%
9 -> 104000*2000*100040011%

*Medal costs marked with an ‘*’ are not the cost shown in the game. They are values calculated based on the conversation ratio between the three types of Medals to give you an easier time comparing the actual cost of an upgrade.

The column Increase in Bronze Medals shows the difference between the cost of one upgrade level compared to the previous calculated in Bronze Medal cost.

The column Percentage Increase shows the percentage increase in Medal Cost of one upgrade level compared to the previous one.

Using this cost table, you can get an idea of when it starts to become really expensive to level up a stat boost again and at what levels there is a big cost increase.

Stat boost increase per Medal spent

As RAID: Shadow Legends is all about efficiency and being smart with your resources, we thought the following table might be of interest to you.

Above, we’ve shown you that the Medal cost increases quite rapidly at some levels.

At some levels, you do also get more stat boost per upgrade than at previous ones, however.

In the following table, you’ll find a complete overview of how much stat boost you get per upgrade for each stat in the Great Hall shown in Bronze Medal cost (+/MS or +%/MS, MS = Medal Spent).

Can you reset the Great Hall?

No, you cannot reset the Great Hall in RAID: Shadow Legends. Once you’ve upgraded a stat boost, you cannot revert your decision.

You shouldn’t worry, though, as any stat boost is good, and you would eventually upgrade it anyway.

We just recommend starting following our stat boost priority from now on, as described earlier in this guide.

That’s everything you need to know about the Great Hall and its bonuses in RAID: Shadow Legends!

In this guide, we give you all the information you need on the Arena in RAID: Shadow Legends, from the rewards you get to what the best champions, teams, and stats are for increasing your chances of victory.

Table of contents

What is the Arena

The Arena is the PvP system in RAID: Shadow Legends, where you can fight other players’ teams.

PvP isn’t live, however, which means that when you are fighting another player in the Arena, you are fighting a team they’ve put together from their roster of champions playing on auto-mode.

You yourself can play on manual mode, which often leads to an advantage for you.

There are two types of arenas within the Arena menu – Classic Arena and Tag Team Arena.

The Classic Arena, which is unlocked from the start of the game, is where you fight one team of champions against one other player’s team of champions.

The player who manages to take out all the opponent’s champions before losing all of their own is the winner.

In the Tag Team Arena, which is unlocked at player level 35, you have to bring three teams of champions, who will then be fighting against three teams your opponent has built.

Teams fight each other one after each other in the Tag Team Arena. First, your first team fights the opponent’s first team, then your second team two fights their second, and lastly, your third team fights their third.

The player who won at least two of the three sub-matches wins the Tag Team Arena match.

When you win or lose a match in the Arena, your Arena rating rises or falls. Your Arena rating determines what tier you’re currently in.

Here are the different Arena tiers in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  • Bronze I
  • Bronze II
  • Bronze III
  • Bronze IV
  • Silver I
  • Silver II
  • Silver III
  • Silver IV
  • Gold I
  • Gold II
  • Gold III
  • Gold IV
  • Gold V
  • Platinum

The Gold V and Platinum tier only exists in the Classic Arena, not in the Tag Team Arena.

What Arena tier you’re currently in determines both the power of your opponents as well as the rewards that you get from fighting in the Arena.

How to fight in the Arena

To fight in the Arena in RAID: Shadow Legends, click the red BATTLE button in the bottom-right corner of the Bastion, click the Arena menu, choose either Classic Arena or Tag Team Arena, select an opponent, click Battle next to their team, make your own team, and click the Start button.

Inside an Arena match, you can use skills just like when you’re fighting stages of enemies in other parts of the game.

Your goal is to take out the opponent’s champions before they take out yours.

Arena matches are not live, which means that the opponent’s team plays on auto-mode, while you can choose to play on manual mode, giving you a bit of an advantage.

As many teams revolve around one champion, at least early on in the game, you can increase your chances of winning by focusing on that one. The opponent might not do that, as they’re playing on auto-mode.

You need Arena keys to fight in the Arena. Every match costs one Arena key to start. The Classic Arena and the Tag Team Arena use separate keys.

The Classic Arena uses the yellow Arena keys, while the Tag Team Arena uses the green keys.

Classic Arena keys are passively regenerated at the rate of one key per hour with a maximum limit of 10. You should, therefore, spend your keys if you have more than 10. Tag Team Arena keys are fully restored daily.

You can see both the exact composition of champions and the team power of the various opponents in the Arena before you choose to fight them.

As arena keys are valuable, try only to choose opponents that you know that you’re going to win against.

Many players use the strategy where they put only one weak champion on their defense to ensure they lose some Arena rating every day, which will get them to a lower tier and thus give them easier opponents. You can fight these teams for free wins.

If you’ve beaten all the opponents that are weaker than you in your current list of opponents, use the Refresh List button in the top-right corner to get a new list of opponents.

You can refresh your list of opponents for free every 15 minutes, so don’t spend the 5 gems to refresh it early.

The last thing you need to do in the Arena is to set your defense team through the Defense tab on the left side inside the Arena.

There are two overall strategies to build your defense team. Either build one that is powerful or one that is extremely weak.

Which of the two you want to use depends on your current tier in the Arena. It’s great to be in a lower tier so you can face easier opponents, but you don’t want to fall down to a lower tier where you get fewer medals per win.

You can check out how many medals you get in each tier by clicking the Tiers tab on the left side inside the Arena.

Towards the end of the ranking period, you want to have reached as high a tier as possible to get the best chest, in which case you should use a strong defense team.

You get the chest from the highest tier you’ve reached in the season, not the one you’re in at the end of the period.

When the current ranking period ends is shown at the bottom-left corner inside the Arena. The ranking period lasts one week, resetting every Monday.

Arena rewards

You can earn several useful items and resources by fighting in the Arena, which is why we recommend that you do it from the beginning of the game.

Here are the different rewards that you get from participating in the Arena:

  • Medals
  • Materials
  • Gold Bars
  • Tier chests
  • Tier stat boosts

You receive Medals if you win matches in the Classic Arena. There are three types of medals – Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Medals are needed to unlock and upgrade boosts in the Great Hall.

The number and type of medals you get from matches depend on your current Arena tier.

Magisteel is another reward that you get from winning matches in the Classic Arena. Magisteel is a material that you need to craft artifacts in the Forge.

When you win matches in the Tag Team Arena, you get Gold Bars as a reward. You can spend Gold Bars in the Bazaar, where many useful items are sold, including Shards, Skill Books, and Chickens.

The number of Gold Bars that you get from a match in the Tag Team Arena depends on how many of the three sub-matches you win. The higher the tier that you’re currently in, the more Gold Bar each sub-match gives.

Every time the ranking period ends in the Classic Arena, you receive an Arena tier chest based on your current tier. The higher the tier you’re in at the end of a ranking period, the better a chest you’ll receive.

You can see when the currently running ranking period ends in the bottom-left corner inside the Arena menu.

Having a high Arena ranking and thus being in a high tier comes with another benefit – tier stat boosts.

By being in a tier, your entire team gets a +% HP, ATK, and DEF boost in all areas of the game, not just the Arena. The higher the tier that you’re in, the better the stat boost.

Best stats for the Arena

The most important stat in the Arena is speed. Being faster than your opponent so you can attack before them is crucial.

In the Arena, you can do extremely well by focusing on speed and ensuring that you get one or several moves before the opponent can even touch your champions.

Unlike later in the Campaign and against bosses, battles don’t last that many rounds in the Arena.

The only time where you might experience a prolonged battle in the Arena is if both players bring very tanky teams with lower damage outputs.

If you’re not going for a quick bursting team, then you, of course, also want to focus on your defense stat and accuracy rather than just speed. But even with a non-bursting team, speed is still incredibly important.

Unless you’re at the end-game of RAID: Shadow Legends, we do, however, recommend that you focus on speed and bursting down the enemy before they even get a chance to attack you.

Focusing on speed will yield the best results for most players in the Arena, and by doing so, you’ll be able to farm the Arena faster as well.

More diverse teams that aren’t purely speed and burst-focused make more sense to build much later in the game, where Arena matches become more diverse and can be much longer.

Depending on your team, accuracy is also an extremely important stat to build, just like it is everywhere in the game.

Best champions for Arena

The best champions to use in the Arena early on in RAID: Shadow Legends are those with powerful AoE attacks and those with ally turn-meter + speed increase buffs.

You want to use these types of champions early on in the game, as you can easily create an incredibly powerful Arena team that’ll allow you to farm wins quickly.

Check out the next paragraph for more details on the AoE and turn-meter + increase speed buff setup.

The specific champions that you want to use early-game in the Arena that suit the burst + speed setup include:

  • Kael
  • Athel
  • Galek
  • Elhain
  • High Khatun
  • Apothecary
  • Warmaiden

The first four champions are the starter champions in the game, so you should have one of them. Of the four, Kael is the best, but all four can be used as powerful AoE bursters.

The last three champions listed can be obtained quite easily. Apothecary and Warmaiden are both rare champions, and Warmaiden can even be obtained from chapter 9 in the Campaign. High Khatun is the 30th-day login reward.

Any other champion with a powerful AoE skill will be a great fit for an early game Arena team too.

High Khatun or Apothecary is for filling the turn-meter of allies and giving them a speed buff at the start of the match, while Warmaiden is for decreasing the defense of enemies.

In the end-game of RAID: Shadow Legends, the following champions are among the best to use in the Arena:

  • Duchess Lilitu
  • Prince Kymar
  • Candraphon
  • Nekhret
  • Hegemon
  • Siphi
  • Rotos
  • Warlord

Obtaining these champions is no easy task, but if you manage to do, you’ll be able to create some very powerful Arena teams.

Best team setups for Arena farming

The best team for the Arena in RAID: Shadow Legends at the beginning of the game all the way till late-game is running a speed + burst setup.

A speed + burst team setup consists of:

  • One turn-meter + increase speed buff champion
  • Two or three strong AoE burst champions
  • One or zero AoE decrease defense champion or another attacker.

To make this setup successful, you need to build as much speed as possible on your turn-meter + increase speed buffing champion to make sure they move first.

If you choose to use a champion that has AoE decrease enemy defense, it should also be built to be as fast as possible. It needs to move before your AoE-bursting champions.

Your attacker champions that should have at least one strong AoE skill each for this setup to work should also have built speed, but you don’t have to focus entirely on it. They will get their speed boost from your buffing champion.

It’s more important that they have enough damage to throw out a hefty attack in one move.

In battle, the speed + burst setup works in the following way:

  1. Your turn-meter + speed buffing champion moves first and both fills the turn-meter of your allies and increases their speed.
  2. If you have a decrease defense champion on your team, they should move now, decreasing the defense of enemies. Having a higher accuracy helps ensure the debuff hits.
  3. The two or three AoE-bursting champions will now move each one using their strongest AoE skill one after each other, which should defeat some if not all enemies.

To make sure your champions move in the right order, you need to build the right amount of speed on each one. The one with the most speed moves first.

Until much later in the game, that’s what many Arena fights will look like. Of course, if you run this setup and fight someone with 50% higher team power than you, it’s unlikely that it’ll go like this.

However, if you fight opponents with a team power similar to you, then chances are you’ll easily beat them, making you able to farm the Arena and its rewards effortlessly and quickly.

If you don’t wish to build champions specifically to buff your team in the Arena like High Khatun and Apothecary, then you can just use powerful AoE bursting champions that you have built tons of speed on to give them a good chance to move first in battle. This will achieve similar results and will allow you to farm the Arena easily through most of the game.

In the end-game, where opponents will have full teams of maxed out legendary champions that do well in the Arena, battles become a bit more complex.

At that point, more setups become viable to run as well, like tanky teams with provoking all enemies or setup teams where you buff one champion greatly before it one-shots enemies.

Other attributes like unkillable buff and having the ability to revive allies become increasingly important later in the Arena as well.

Here are some examples of powerful end-game teams to use in the Arena:

Team 1

  • Warlord
  • Arbiter
  • Ramantu
  • Leorius

Team 2

  • Prince Kymar
  • Leorius
  • Nekhret
  • Hegemon

Team 3

  • Siphi
  • Duchess Lilitu
  • Warlord
  • Candraphon

All of these teams are created by top players in RAID: Shadow Legends that hover around the top of the leaderboards in the Arena.

The Forge in RAID: Shadow Legends is where you can craft artifacts not obtainable anywhere else in the game.

Many of the sets that you can craft in the Forge are not worth using, but some of them are among the best artifacts in the game.

When you open the Forge for the first time, it can seem confusing with all the material and charm slots, sets you can craft, and options you can choose.

Crafting artifacts in the Forge costs both materials and silver. The higher the potential stars on the set you craft, the higher the cost.

In this guide, we cover everything that you need to know about the Forge in RAID: Shadow Legends, from how to use it to how you can increase your chances of getting specific types of artifacts and the right stats.

Table of contents

What is the Forge?

The Forge is a building in RAID: Shadow Legends where you can craft various artifacts. It is located in the middle of the Bastion.

Players unlock the Forge when they reach account level 30.

Artifacts that can be crafted in the Forge cannot be obtained in other ways than from the Forge.

Crafting artifacts in the Forge cost both materials and silver.

Players can tweak the chances of getting specific types of artifacts and substats using charms.

Later on in the game, the Forge becomes an important building when gearing up your champions, as some of the strongest artifact sets come from the Forge.

How to craft artifacts in the Forge

To craft artifacts in the Forge, gather the required materials, go to the Forge in the Bastion, select the artifact set you wish to craft, select the number of potential stars and click the yellow button showing an amount of silver at the bottom.

Upon clicking to craft an artifact, you will receive one of the six types of artifacts of the set that you chose.

What type of artifact you’ll get, how many stars it’ll have, its rarity, and what stats it has is chosen at random. You can see the probabilities of getting the different number of stars and rarities later in this guide.

You can see all the different sets of artifacts that you can craft in the Forge on the left side, as well as what boosts each set gives.

Once you’ve selected the set that you wish to craft, you can set the number of stars at the top of the forging window.

Some artifact sets can be set to both 3-4 stars, 4-5 stars, and 5-6 stars, while others can only be set to 4-5 stars or 5-6 stars.

Setting an artifact to be 4-5 stars, for instance, means that the artifact will have either 4 or 5 stars when crafted.

The higher the number of stars you choose, the more materials it’ll cost to craft that item.

The icons displayed over the artifact chest are the materials that you need to craft an artifact of the chosen set at the selected number of stars.

The icons displayed under the artifact chest are charms that increase the chances of your artifact being more powerful or of a specific type.

It is not required to use charms when crafting artifacts. They just give you better odds of getting a great artifact. Only the shown material cost is required as well as the silver cost.

There is no limit to how many artifacts you can craft in the Forge as long as you have the required materials and resources.

Forge artifact sets

When you unlock the Forge at level 30, you might be overwhelmed by the sheer number of artifact sets that you can craft.

Here is a complete overview of the different artifact sets that you can craft in the Forge in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  • Swift Parry – 4 set effect: SPD +18%, C. DMG +30%
  • Deflection – 4 set effect: HP +20%. DEF +20%. 25% chance to deflect 1 debuff onto the attacker.
  • Resilience – 2 set effect: HP +10%. DEF +10%
  • Perception – 2 set effect: ACC +40, SPD +5%
  • Affinitybreaker – 4 set effect: C. DMG +30%. 20% chance to change weak hit into critical hit.
  • Untouchable – 4 set effect: Immunity for 2 turns. RESIST +40
  • Fatal – 2 set effect: ATK +15%. C. RATE +5%
  • Frostbite – 2 set effect: 15% chance to block Freeze debuffs. 10% chance to place Freeze debuff on attacker.
  • Bloodthirst – 4 set effect: C. RATE +12%. Heal by 30% of damage dealt.
  • Guardian – 4 set effect: Wearer absorbs 10% of all damage dealt to ally Champions. Heals by 10% every turn.
  • Fortitude – 2 set effect: RES +40, DEF +10%
  • Lethal – 4 set effect: C. RATE +10%, Ignores 25% of enemy DEF

Many of the sets that you can craft in the Forge are not among the best in the game. However, some of them can be great alternatives to the gear that you have from the campaign.

Swift Parry is an exception to this, as it is one of the best artifact sets in the game. Perception is also an excellent artifact set.

Using charms

When you’re crafting artifacts in the Forge, you can use charms to increase your chances of getting a specific type of artifact, better substats, the highest rank, and higher rarity.

You can add charms to your artifact by clicking any of the icons below the artifact chest in the Forge and then selecting the charms on the left side.

Here are all the different types of charms you can get and use in the Forge in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  • Rank Charms
  • Rarity Charms
  • Type Charms
  • Substat Charms

Rank Charms double the chance of the artifact being of the highest rank, the highest number of stars, within the range that you have selected.

If you choose the artifact to be between 3 and 4 stars, it has a 40% chance to have 4 stars upon being crafted.

With a Rank Charm selected, that same artifact would have an 80% chance to have 4 stars upon being crafted.

Rarity Charms double the chance of the artifact being of a higher rarity.

Without a Rank Charm, an artifact has a 7.5% chance to be of legendary rarity when crafted, but with a Rank Charm activated, it has a 15% chance instead.

Type Charms double the chance of the artifact being of the type corresponding to the charm that you selected.

For instance, there is a 16.67% chance that an artifact will be a weapon when you craft in the Forge. With a Weapon Charm activated, that artifact would have a 33.33% chance to be a weapon upon being crafted.

Substat Charms gives a 50% chance that the artifact you’re crafting has the substat corresponding to the charm as the first line of their substats. When you use a Substat Charm, that substat cannot appear on the remaining three substat lines nor the main stat, even if you don’t get the substat on the first line.

Normally there is a 10-12.5% chance of a specific substat being rolled per substat line, depending on the artifact type. With a Speed Charm, for example, the crafted artifact has a 50% chance of having +SPD as one of their substat lines.

When you’re using the Forge to craft artifacts that you’re planning to use, we highly recommend that you use charms to increase your chances of getting the best gear.

Using charms is also a great way to get more out of your crafting materials, as you’ll, on average, have to spend less material to get the artifacts that you want.

How to get materials and charms

You need materials to craft artifacts in the Forge, and we recommend that you also use charms, though charms aren’t required like the materials are.

You get materials for crafting in RAID: Shadow Legends by fighting in the Arena, from the clan shop, events, tournaments, Faction Wars, and Doom Tower.

Charms can be obtained from the Bazaar, advanced quests, the clan shop, the free daily pack, events, tournaments, and Doom Tower.

Here is a complete overview of where you can get each type of material and each type of charm in the game

At the beginning of the game, you probably won’t be using the Forge that much.

However, at some point, chances are that you’ll want to start crafting Swift Parry artifacts, in which case you want to have both materials and charms ready.

So, even though it might seem like you don’t really need them, it’s a great idea to start gathering the various materials and charms early on for your progression later in the game.

Crafting odds

When crafting artifacts in the Forge, there are a lot of different elements and stats being rolled into a final piece of artifact.

In the following charts, you’ll get a complete overview of the probabilities of getting specific ranks, rarities, types, main stats, and substats on artifacts that you craft, including when you use charms to boost your chances.

*Only one type of artifact can have its chance increased at a time. For example, if you choose to use a Helmet Type Charm, you’ll have a 33.33% chance to get a Helmet. The remaining five artifacts will each have a 13.33% chance to be crafted, as the total chance needs to be 100%.

There are no charms that affect the chance to get specific main stats on artifacts.

The types of artifacts with a 100% chance listed above can only get one stat as their main stat.

The types of artifacts with a chance lower than 100% can have various stats as their main stat, each of which has an equal chance to be rolled – the chance in the table.

Check out our artifacts guide to see the different main stats each type of artifact can have in the game.

Gauntlets10%*50%*
Chestplate10%*50%*
Boots10%*50%*

*All of the potential main stats on chestplates, gauntlets, and boots can be rolled on their substat lines as well. However, as you cannot have the same exact stat line twice on an item, there is technically one less potential substat to roll on each substat line after the main stat has been determined. Furthermore, when one substat line is rolled, there is one less substat included in the pool of substats to roll on the next line, causing the chance of each substat that is left to be rolled to increase a bit.

*The probability of rolling a specific substat on a line among the various substats that a specific type of artifact can have is equal. Check what substats and main stats artifacts can have here.

*When you use a Substat Charm, the substrate corresponding to the chosen Substat Charm cannot be rolled on the artifact’s main stat line, if it was possible in the first place, and it cannot be rolled on any other substat line than the first, even if you don’t roll it on the first substat line.

*As you cannot roll the substat corresponding to the chosen Substat Charm, the probability of rolling the remaining substats and potentially main stats, depending on the artifact type, is increased.

RAID: Shadow Legends – Progression Guide: How to Progress Fast https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-progression-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-progression-guide/#respond Thu, 27 Jan 2022 13:20:18 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=24782 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

The overall goal of RAID: Shadow Legends is to beat stages of enemies and bosses to progress through the game.

Because of this and the fact that much of the content in the game is first unlocked later, players understandably want to progress as fast as possible.

There are a lot of different things to do and ways to build your champions, which can make it confusing as to how you can progress the fastest.

Recommended Read: How to Get Legendary Champions in RAID: Shadow Legends

In this guide, we cover what you should prioritize and what areas of the game you should focus on to progress quickly and efficiently.

To sum up, the fastest way to progress in RAID: Shadow Legends is to focus on maxing out just one champion that can carry you through the campaign and most other content, like Kael, max out your gem mine, do Arena and Faction Wars, and spend your resources efficiently. Find more information on all of this below.

Champion and team priority at the beginning of the game

How to choose to build your team and prioritize upgrading champions have a major impact on how fast you can progress in RAID: Shadow Legends.

Many players choose to simultaneously power up many champions to create a balanced team, as it seems like a natural thing to do.

While upgrading several characters at the same time might be a good strategy in many RPG games, it’s not the strategy you want to use in RAID: Shadow Legends if fast progression is your goal.

In RAID: Shadow Legends, you want to start out by focusing almost exclusively on one single champion that can solo through the campaign and most other content in the game.

For a champion to be suitable as a carry, it should have great AoE and preferably also be at least decent against bosses. An excellent choice will be your starting champion, with Kael being the best of the four.

All four starting champions can be used as a carry, but Kael is the best. If you’ve just started playing the game, you might want to consider starting over and choosing Kael if you didn’t already.

The fact that all four starter champions are of rare rarity makes it easier for you to max them out and thus allows you to progress faster.

If you don’t want to use one of the starter champions as your first hard-hitting carry champion, we recommend that you go with either a rare one or an epic one that has a similar overall skill set, including AoE.

Choosing a legendary champion as your first to max out will slow your progress a bit, as it’ll be more difficult to upgrade them fully.

Now that you’ve chosen what champion to prioritize upgrading, your first goal is to get it to rank 6 and then level 60 as soon as possible. This is the single most important thing you can do to make it stronger.

Getting a champion to 6 stars is no easy task, however, so expect this to take a couple of weeks from when you start the game, even when prioritizing your resources on it.

Even though you should focus on getting that one carry champion to level 60, it does not mean that you cannot make other champions on your team stronger, just don’t waste too many resources upgrading a lot of champions. Getting the carry hero to level 60 is the most important first step to progressing fast.

Just like you want to strongly prioritize your resources and fodder champions for upgrading your main carry champion, you want to use the best artifacts that you have on it as well.

More specifically, you want to use your four best lifesteal artifacts, and for your remaining two artifacts and three accessories, the ones that are best for the champion. Check out our best artifacts guide for more information on what the best for your champion might be.

The lifesteal set is by far the best artifact set to use for progressing through the game.

Using this setup, where you focus on one carry champion, the lifesteal set allows them to sustain themselves through battles.

With your first level 60 carry champion done, you will be able to progress far into the game.

Now comes the more tricky part, though, as what the next champion you should prioritize and get to level 60 depends on what your team currently lacks and what part of the game you’re struggling in.

The second champion you want to build can be a tanky defense champion, a support, or another strong AoE damaging champion.

If you’re looking to do a lot of arena battles, getting a second AoE damaging champion can be a great choice, but if you’re looking to focus more on the campaign and dungeons, then a defense or a support champion will probably be better.

Your next goal when starting to choose what champions to bring to 6 stars after getting your first and second one is to create a team that can do well in all aspects of the game. This will require you to have all three types of champions – tank, support, and attacker.

You can get a better idea of how strong a champion is in our RAID: Shadow Legends Champion Tier List.

Spend resources efficiently from the start

Efficiently spending your resources is key to optimizing your progress in RAID: Shadow Legends.

It’s no secret that RAID: Shadow Legends is a grindy game, which means that spending what you have wisely and not having to farm more unnecessarily goes a long way.

The first objective you want to focus on in terms of spending your resources is fully upgrading the Gem Mine located in the Bastion.

Unlocking the Gem Mine costs 500 gems, and the two additional upgrades cost 500 gems as well – a total cost of 1,500 gems to fully unlock and upgrade the Gem Mine.

Saving your first 1,500 gems to unlock the Gem Mine is the best way to spend your gems in RAID: Shadow Legends, as the Gem Mine pays itself back in 100 days, after which the 15 gems generated per day are profit.

For it to make sense to upgrade the Gem Mine, you should make sure to claim the gems it generates daily and plan to play for more than 100 days.

If you don’t claim the gems daily, it will hit its maximum capacity and stop generating gems until you claim them.

The most efficient way to spend almost all other resources in the game is to spend them when they help you get points in events or tournaments.

There is almost always at least one event and one tournament running in RAID: Shadow Legends, and these often require you to do things like summon champions, upgrade your champions, or earn as many points as possible by completing stages in dungeons.

Spending the majority of your resources while events and tournaments are running is a fantastic way to ensure that you get the most out of what you have.

It’s especially crucial to wait for summoning events, as there are often events that double the rate of getting epics and legendaries or, in some other way, increase your chances of getting better and higher-rarity champions significantly.

Therefore, we recommend that you not spend Ancient, Void, and Legendary shards until a good summoning event comes around.

Even though you get the most out of your resources if you wait for events, it, of course, doesn’t mean that you cannot play the game when they aren’t running. Just make sure to spend the bulk of your resources when they are.

Energy is the most important resource in the game, and you want to spend it wisely if fast progression is what you’re after.

To get the most out of your energy, you should try to use it when you both earn points from events, have an XP boost running, and train as many fodder champions as you can while spending it.

You can check out our RAID: Shadow Legends energy guide to get more details on the best way to spend it.

Artifacts and accessories are a major part of making your champions stronger in the game, but they can also cost you a lot of silver.

Therefore, we recommend that you only upgrade your artifacts to level 12 to begin with to unlock the third substat or substat boost.

You should not upgrade more artifacts than you need to have all the champions that you’re using fully geared up, either.

Once you’ve gotten all your champions’ artifacts and accessories to level 12 and you’ve started making your way through a good chunk of the campaign, start upgrading only the artifacts and accessories of your main carry to higher levels.

When actually playing and progressing through RAID: Shadow Legends, it can be difficult to implement all of these tips we’ve just given you.

However, just keeping them in mind and trying to follow the principles somewhat is sure to make you progress faster.

Daily tasks to do

RAID: Shadow Legends is a grindy game, as mentioned, and it features tons of things for you to do every single day to make sure you come back and play daily.

It would, of course, be best if you could complete all the daily tasks in the game every day, but that isn’t realistic for most players.

Therefore, if you only have time to do some of the things in the game daily, we recommend prioritizing them like this:

  1. Claim daily login rewards and free daily pack
  2. Fight in the Arena
  3. Daily and advanced quests
  4. Do Faction Wars
  5. Clan Bosses

There are many other great tasks to do in the game, but these are the ones that reset daily, forcing you to do them every day if you want the maximum benefit from them.

Claiming your daily login rewards is very important, as the rewards are free and very useful. While you’re claiming your daily login rewards, you might as well also claim the daily free pack. Claiming both takes no time either.

Fighting in the Classic Arena might not seem that important, but building up your Great Hall from the start will help you in the future, as it provides amazing permanent boosts. You should also do Tag Team Arena runs to build up your Gold Bars stash for the Bazaar.

Completing all your Daily Quests is important, as you want to build toward completing both your weekly and monthly quests to get the shards and XP boost. You need to complete all your daily quests on 5 and 30 days before you can complete your weekly and monthly quests. It doesn’t have to be in a row, though.

Completing your advanced quests is also a great idea, as the rewards you build towards with every advanced quest completed are very useful.

Faction Wars is another part of the game that doesn’t seem that important for new players, but you’ll really need strong glyphs for your gear later on, and having the materials you also get from stages isn’t bad either. The star rewards from Faction Wars are also great.

Lastly, it’s great to get your Clan boss runs in, but this task first becomes really important later on in the game when you’re able to earn chests from the higher difficulties of bosses.

Though there is no time limit on progression missions in RAID: Shadow Legends, they help you get on the right track for progression, making them a good use of your time if you’ve done your daily tasks already.

Build towards farming at chapter 12 stage 6 brutal mode

One of the milestones that you want to build towards is being able to farm stage 6 in chapter 12 of brutal mode with just one champion.

The champion that you’re going to solo-farm stage 6 is the carry-champion that you’ve been focusing on getting to level 60 and maxing out as described earlier in this guide.

Stage 6 in any chapter in the campaign is the one that gives the most XP, making it the best for leveling up fodder.

You want to be able to farm it with just one champion so that you can bring three other fodder champions on your team to train.

If you’re in need of silver, consider farming stage 3 instead, as it yields a lot of XP too but gives more silver than stage 6 when you sell the shields dropped.

Some players choose to always run stage 3 instead of 6, as they believe it’s better to get a little less XP and a little more silver, but that’s up to you.

Once you’re able to farm stages 6 and 3 in chapter 12 on brutal mode with just one champion, you can level up fodder champions at a much faster pace, enabling you to 6-star champions faster and thus progress faster.

The key to being able to farm these stages on brutal mode with just one champion is that they have strong AoE, are using the lifesteal artifact set, and are heavily upgraded in both level, rank, ascension, skills, masteries, and gear.

When you have a champion that can solo-farm stage 6 and 3 in chapter 12 on brutal mode, you can also solo-farm many higher stages in all dungeons, enabling you to farm useful items while training fodder there as well.

Making your champions more powerful is one of the things that you’ll be spending a lot of time doing in RAID: Shadow Legends.

There are many different ways to make champions stronger in the game, and as tempting as it is, it’s not always the wisest choice to blindly upgrade any champion.

Increasing the power of your team is essential to the rate of your progress in the game, which is why you want to max out champions as fast as possible.

In short, the fastest way to level up and max out champions is to keep training fodder champions while you farm items to upgrade your main champions.

You can find more information on all of this in this guide, where we cover the fastest way to level up and max out champions in RAID: Shadow Legends, as well as the considerations that you want to take while you do so.

Table of contents

What is maxing out a champion?

Maxing out a champion refers to upgrading the champion to its maximum potential.

To get a champion to its maximum potential, you have to rank it up to 6-stars, the maximum rank, level it up to 60, ascend it to ascension level 6, upgrade its skills, unlock all masteries, and give it powerful artifacts and accessories.

Because of the way the game is made, it is incredibly difficult to fully max out any champion.

Skill tomes or duplicates can be hard to come by, especially for epic and legendary champions, and stats are randomly rolled on artifacts and accessories.

Therefore, maxing out a champion is also used simply to refer to deciding to invest resources and bringing a champion close to being fully maxed out.

Even players who’ve been playing for years usually don’t have their entire team fully maxed out, just close to it.

Some of the things that you can consistently max out on champions because you can farm for it are:

  • Rank
  • Level
  • Ascension level
  • Masteries
  • Artifacts*

*You can farm artifacts that are close to being perfect, but usually, you could technically get an artifact that is a bit better.

If a champion is of rare rarity, then you’ll have a much easier time maxing out its skill upgrades, especially if that rare is farmable, so you can use duplicates.

What champions to level up and max out

Choosing what champion to level up and max out is an important decision in regards to your progress in RAID: Shadow Legends.

Maxing out the wrong champion will cost you a ton of resources, and with the right champion choice, you would have been able to progress further using the same resources.

There is not one single champion that is the best to max out, as it depends on what champions you have.

The next champion that you choose to max out should fit what your main team currently lacks.

If you’ve yet to max out any champion in the game, the best champion to max out is one that can carry you through the campaign and solo-farm dungeons.

For many players, this champion will be your starting champion, like Kael or Athel. Starting champions are strong overall and have great AoE, making them suitable for solo-farming and progression.

Another factor to consider when choosing what champion to max out is the rarity of that champion.

Most players want to max out champions that are legendary or epic. However, often that isn’t always the best strategy.

The resource cost of maxing out champions sharply increases the higher the rarity. A rare champion is much easier to max out in terms of ascension and skill upgrades, which is another reason why you might want to choose a strong rare champion as your first champion to 6-star and max out.

Some rare champions can also be actively farmed in the game and are easy to obtain from mystery shards, making it easy to get duplicates for upgrading their skills.

Later on in the game, you, of course, want to start maxing out epic and legendary champions, as the best legendaries are stronger than the best rares.

But, if progression is a high priority for you, it might be best to go with rare champions when choosing your first and maybe second champion to max out.

How to level up champions fast

The fastest way to level up champions in RAID: Shadow Legends is to use all your XP brews and then farm stage 6 of any chapter in the campaign with an XP boost when you have no more brews.

XP brews are not easy to farm, so most of them you’ll get from events, tournaments, and free packs.

You can also get XP brews as drops from dungeons, but don’t farm for them there just for XP. Your energy is better spent in the campaign XP-wise. Some missions also give XP brews.

Once you’ve used up the XP brews in the Tavern that you had laying around, the fastest way to level up champions is to farm stages in the campaign. Go with the highest difficulty that you can farm with just one champion.

If you can time your XP farming for champions with an XP boost from your weekly or advanced quests, you can speed up your champion leveling greatly.

Stage 6 of any chapter yields the most XP to champions, but stage 3 yields the most silver when selling the artifacts dropped while still giving a lot of XP. So, if you want to farm silver at the same time, go with stage 3. But if you’re just after as much XP as possible, go with stage 6.

When farming stage 3 or stage 6 for leveling up champions, you want to use only one strong champion that can solo the stage and then three champions that you want to level up. This ensures that you spend your energy efficiently.

XP from the stage is divided equally between the champions on your team, even if they are defeated in battle.

So, if you have 4 champions on a team, each of them will receive 25% of the XP obtained in that battle.

How to max out champions fast

The essence of maxing out champions fast in RAID: Shadow Legends is farming efficiently. The more efficiently you can farm, the faster you can max out champions.

When looking to max out champions, these are the items and resources that you need:

  • Fodder champions
  • Arcane and affinity potions
  • Mastery scrolls
  • Artifacts and accessories
  • Skill books

The first four of these can be farmed, while your best shot at getting skill books is from events, tournaments, advanced quests, and various chests.

We recommend not using skill books on just any champion. Instead, save them up for when you want to max out a champion.

Now that you’ve decided on a champion to max out and know what items and resources you need, it’s time to upgrade.

Before you start farming, go ahead and use whatever of the above-listed items and resources that you already have lying around on the champion you’ve chosen to rank them up, ascend them, level them up, upgrade their skills, unlock masteries, and equip artifacts.

Fodder champions for ranking up

Obtaining fodder champions to use for ranking up is going to be one of the main hurdles of maxing out a character.

You don’t want to use epic or legendary champions as fodder to rank up another unless you’re completely sure that you’ll never use that champion, and even then, we still think you should keep them. We strongly recommend using rare and uncommon champions as fodder instead.

Your primary way of obtaining fodder champions is going to be from Mystery Shards.

There are tons of Mystery Shards to be obtained everywhere in the game. If you just purchase all Mystery Shards that appear in the market and farm dungeons and the campaign from time to time, you’ll quickly have hundreds.

After summoning a bunch of champions from Mystery Shards, you’ll have a lot of uncommon and some rares.

At this point, it’s time to get those rares and uncommons up in ranks so they can be used as fodder to get your selected champion to rank 6, 6 stars.

Fodder champions don’t need to be of a specific level to be used as fodder for ranking up, but the champion that you are ranking up has to be of max level for its current rank.

Because you need to eventually rank up some of the rare and uncommon champions themselves so they can be used as fodder to get the selected champion from rank 4 to 5, and from rank 5 to 6, you need to train them.

The fastest way to get fodder champions to max level is to run stage 6 with one champion that can solo-carry and then the rest of the team being fodder champions. Check out the previous paragraph for more information.

If you’re maxing out an epic champion, then you need a total of four 4-star fodder champions or chickens and five 5-star fodder champions or chickens. If you’re maxing out a legendary champion, you need only the five 5-star fodder champions.

Assuming a rank 3 champion is already max level, it’s easy to rank it up, as you just need to use other rank 3 champions that can be level 1.

Getting one champion to rank 5 so that it can be used as fodder when you’re ranking the selected champion from rank 5 to 6 requires:

  • One max-level rank 4 champion
  • Four rank 4 champions of any level

To get those five champions at rank 4, you need:

  • Five max-level rank 3 champions
  • Fifteen rank 3 champions of any level

If you were only using rare champions, this comes out to a total of 20 rare champions per one rank 5 rare champion, assuming they all start at rank 3. To get the five rank 5 champions that you need as fodder to upgrade a champion’s rank from 5 to 6, you’d need a total of 100 rare champions.

If you were using only uncommon champions as fodder, you’d need the following number to get the twenty rank 4 champions:

  • Twenty max-level rank 2 champions
  • Fourty rank 2 champions of any level

If you were only using uncommon champions, this comes out to a total of 60 uncommon champions per one rank 5 uncommon champion, assuming they all start at rank 2. To get the five rank 5 champions needed as fodder to upgrade a champion’s rank from 5 to 6, you’d need a total of 300 uncommon champions.

You will, of course, end up using a mix of both rare and uncommon champions, so the total number of champions required will end up between 100 and 300.

Arcane and affinity potions for ascension

To max out the ascension level of a champion, you need to farm a lot of both arcane and affinity potions.

The fastest way to get the potions needed for ascension is to farm the Keeps in the Dungeon map.

Make sure to also utilize the potion mixer located in the Tavern under the Ascend tab to turn lesser potions into greater and greater into superior.

While your farming potions in any Keep, be sure to bring fodder champions on your team so that you train those for when you need them in the future.

Being efficient with your farming and energy, like training fodder champions while farming potions, is a great way to ensure that your progression in the game goes smoothly.

If possible, bring only one carry champion and four fodder champions when running Keeps.

Just make sure that you don’t have to go down to a too low stage level with this setup. Otherwise, bring only one to three fodder champions.

Mastery scrolls for unlocking masteries

Farming mastery scrolls for your champion in Minotaur’s Labyrinth in the Dungeon map will also be a big part of maxing out a champion.

If you have enough gems, consider using them to unlock all the mastery scrolls for the champion you are maxing, as it’s one of the best ways to spend your gems.

Purchasing all mastery scrolls for a champion comes with an extra benefit as well.

Once a champion has all its mastery scrolls, it can no longer get them from the Minotaur boss. This means that if you run Minotaur with the champion with all its mastery scrolls purchased and another champion, the second champion will always get all the scrolls.

Likewise, if you run Minotaur with the one champion with all its mastery scrolls and two other champions, one of the two other champions will always get the scrolls. This makes it much easier to farm scrolls efficiently.

Artifacts and accessories

Obtaining artifacts with both the right set and stats will require some farming. Check out our best artifacts guide to get more information on what artifacts to go for.

Depending on what artifacts you need for your champion, you’ll be farming either campaign levels or dungeons.

When farming either, we recommend, once again, that you bring as many fodder champions to train while you farm artifacts.

You’ll be farming all your accessories from the Spider boss in the Spider’s Den dungeon.

Accessories don’t have set effects, so when looking for the best one for your champion, the stats are all that matters, and that it is of the same faction, of course.

You now know what is needed to max out a champion. All that depends on how quickly you can max out a champion is how fast you can farm the items and resources you need!

As mentioned, both energy efficiency-wise and time-wise, it will prove to be fastest to combine different aspects of farming to max out champions, like training fodder champions while farming potions.

RAID: Shadow Legends – Energy Guide: How to Get, Best Use, Etc. https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-energy-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-energy-guide/#comments Tue, 25 Jan 2022 12:43:48 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=24699 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

Energy is the single-most-important resource in RAID: Shadow Legends, as you cannot battle in the campaign or in any dungeon without it.

Early on in the game, you probably won’t find yourself much in need of more energy, as you get a ton from various start quests, free rewards, and progression rewards, but later on, you can easily find yourself in need of more.

Play Raid Shadow Legends on PC button

As energy is needed to fight in both the campaign and in dungeons, energy is the resource you need to farm both silver, mastery scrolls, potions, and artifacts, all of which are extremely important to making champions stronger.

Spending energy as efficiently as possible is a difficult task, as there are many factors that should be considered when planning how to spend energy.

In this guide, we give you all the information you need on energy in RAID: Shadow Legends, from how to get it to the best way to use it.

Table of contents

What is energy?

Energy is the resource that you need in RAID: Shadow Legends to do most of the content.

If you don’t have any energy left, you cannot start battles in the campaign or in any dungeons, which are two of the largest parts of the game.

The energy resource limits the player from running an infinite number of battles, consequently making energy the most important resource.

Because energy is limited and needed to run battles, it is seen directly as a resource you can trade for the items you can farm in the campaign and in dungeons – silver, artifacts, mastery scrolls, and potions.

You can see how much energy you currently have at the top of the screen inside the game.

It is possible to have more energy than your maximum cap, but when you have more, you don’t regenerate energy like you do when you are below your cap.

How to get energy in RAID: Shadow Legends

There are many ways to get energy in the game, some of which you can actively do and some you can claim from time to time.

Here is a complete list of every single way to get energy in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  • Missions
  • Quests
  • Leveling up
  • Chests
  • Playtime rewards
  • Bazaar
  • Faction wars
  • Doom Tower
  • Daily login rewards
  • Events
  • Tournaments
  • Packs
  • Shop

Missions are a series of tasks that you can access at the bottom of the screen. Some of the missions give energy as a reward upon completion.

There are four types of quests in the game – daily, weekly, monthly, and advanced. Several of the quests that you can do give energy as a reward, including the daily quest ‘Fight in Classic Arena 5 times’, which gives a full energy refill.

Every time you level up in RAID: Shadow Legends, you get energy equal to your current maximum cap as a reward. Check out our guide on how to level up your account quickly here.

Some of the chests in the game, like the raid activity chest, can give energy as a reward.

Upon having had the game open for 60 minutes, you can claim a full energy refill from the playtime rewards system, which resets daily. You can access it through the hourglass in the bottom-right corner above the BATTLE button.

In the Bazaar located in the Tag Team Arena, you can purchase 300 energy for 1,000 Gold Bars.

One of the rewards that you get from collecting stars from stages in Faction Wars is energy. You can see at what milestones you get energy in Faction Wars by clicking the information icon inside Faction Wars.

Some of the floors in the Doom Tower give energy as a reward. The first floor to give energy is floor 10.

The daily login rewards system gives useful items daily, and some days that reward is energy.

There is almost always at least one event running in RAID: Shadow Legends, and very often, energy is one of the rewards that you can earn from participating.

Like events, tournaments are almost always running the game as well, and in tournaments, you’ll often find energy as part of the rewards pool too.

There are many packs to purchase in RAID: Shadow Legends if you wish to spend money, many of which contain energy. But there are also free packs to claim every day, and these often contain a full energy refill.

Lastly, you can purchase a full energy refill in the Shop with 40 gems. Buying full energy refills is a great way to spend your gems in RAID: Shadow Legends if you already have the Gem Mine fully unlocked and more slots in the market.

Best way to spend energy efficiently

The best way to spend energy in RAID: Shadow Legends so that you’re efficient with the precious resources is not always an easy task.

The first thing to consider when it comes to efficiently spending energy is that you want to keep your energy below your maximum cap, as you’ll then passively be regenerating energy up to your maximum cap.

When you have more energy than your maximum cap, you won’t regain any more energy passively until you are below your maximum cap.

Sometimes, however, the best way to spend your energy in RAID: Shadow Legends is to hold onto it until an important event or tournament comes out so that you can make sure to get all the rewards from it that you need.

In such a case, you would want to have way more energy stored up than your maximum cap, even though it means that you won’t be regenerating more energy passively.

Which of the two approaches you should go for is the difficult balance of trying to spend energy wisely in the game.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend not trying to save up a bunch of energy early on in the game, as it’s easier to get more energy at this point than it is late-game.

Late-game when upgrading your champions is your main focus, it is often a great idea to hold onto energy for a couple of days if you see an important event or tournament coming up that gives rewards that you need to increase the power of your team.

Another general tip when it comes to spending your energy is to try and accomplish multiple objectives at the same time.

For example, if you need to farm the Arcane Keep for potions to ascend champions, try to combine it with leveling up fodder champions at the same time, making more of your energy.

If you can time the XP boosts that you get from weekly and advanced quests with events so that you both farm potions, event points, and champion XP with an XP boost active, then you’re looking at a very efficient energy spending setup.

It is, however, difficult to time everything every time you spend energy, but trying to get more out of your energy can help you progress faster in the game.

What is the maximum energy cap?

The maximum energy cap in RAID: Shadow Legends is 130, which you get at level 60.

Even though the maximum level in the game is now 100, you do not get a higher energy cap after level 60.

Having a higher energy cap is great, as you’ll not only be able to regenerate more energy passively, but you’ll also get more energy from full energy refills.

How quickly do you regenerate energy?

Whenever you have less energy than your maximum energy cap in RAID: Shadow Legends, you regenerate 1 energy every 3 minutes passively.

At the maximum energy cap of 130, which is unlocked at level 60, it takes 6.5 hours to fully replenish your energy to the cap if you have 0 energy left.

Once you hit the maximum energy cap, you stop regenerating energy until you’re below the cap again.

How to increase energy limit

You can increase your maximum energy limit in RAID: Shadow Legends by leveling up your account.

Every time your account levels up, your energy limit increases by a bit until you reach level 60, at which points your energy limit won’t increase as you level up further.

At the beginning of the game, your energy limit is 18, and at level 60, your energy limit is 130, which is the highest it can become.

The closer you are to level 60, the less your energy limit will increase with each new level up.

In other words, your energy limit increases by more per level up at the beginning of your journey than when you’re closer to level 60.

RAID: Shadow Legends – Ascension Guide: How to Ascend, Potion Requirements, Etc. https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-ascension-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-ascension-guide/#respond Mon, 24 Jan 2022 12:23:33 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=24614 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

Ascension is one of the many ways to upgrade the power of champions in RAID: Shadow Legends.

You not only increase the stats of a champion when you ascend it, you also unlock a new skill or upgrade a current one when it hits ascension level three.

Play Raid Shadow Legends on PC button

Champions can be ascended in the Tavern located in the Bastion with potions that can be obtained from dungeons, the shop, faction wars, chests, missions, challenges, and occasionally events.

Recommended Read: RAID: Shadow Legends – Best Artifacts, Artifact Sets, and Accessories

The requirements, or costs, of ascending a champion to the next ascension level depend on the rarity of the champion as well as what ascension level it currently is.

You can find more information on the potion requirements and everything else that you need to know about the ascension system in RAID: Shadow Legends below in this guide.

Table of contents

What is ascension?

The ascension system in RAID: Shadow Legends allows players to further increase the stats and power of their champions by ascending them to the next ascension level.

Ascension is an upgrade that is based on the number of stars a champion has.

You can see the current ascension level of a champion by looking at its stars on its icon, information page, etc.

The number of purple stars a champion has is equal to the ascension level it has reached.

Whenever a champion reaches a higher ascension level, one more of its yellow stars will turn purple.

The maximum ascension level is 6, just like the maximum rank, and thus the maximum number of stars on a champion is.

How to ascend champions

You can ascend champions in RAID: Shadow Legends in the Tavern located in the Bastion by clicking the Ascend tab on the right side, selecting the champion you want to ascend on the left side, and then clicking the yellow Ascend button.

Before you can ascend a champion, you need to have the required combination of potions. All champions require both Arcane potions and potions corresponding to their affinity to be ascended.

The higher the rarity and the higher the current ascension level of a champion, the harder it is to ascend it to the next ascension level.

When you select a champion to ascend in the Tavern, you can see both the potion requirements and what that next ascension level will bring.

If you’re curious, you can see the potion requirements for each ascension level for each rarity in our potion costs chart later in this guide.

Ascension levels are displayed by the number of yellow stars that have turned purple in a champion’s icon, information page, etc.

If a champion does not have any more yellow stars, you cannot ascend it further. In this case, you’d have to rank up the champion to give it one more yellow star before you can ascend it.

Once you’ve ascended a champion to ascension level 6, you cannot ascend it further, as the maximum number of stars on a champion is 6 as well.

How to get potions

The main way to get potions for ascension in RAID: Shadow Legends is from the five Keep dungeons.

There are five keeps in the Dungeon Map, each of which gives a different type of potion:

  • Arcane Keep
  • Spirit Keep
  • Magic Keep
  • Force Keep
  • Void Keep

All champions need potions from the Arcane Keep as well as potions from the keep that corresponds to their affinity to be ascended.

For example, Ninja, a champion of the Magic affinity, needs both Arcane potions and Magic potions to be ascended.

There are several other ways to get potions in the game as well. Here is a complete list of all the ways to get them:

  • Dungeons
  • Shop
  • Faction Wars
  • Chests
  • Missions
  • Challenges
  • Events

Even though there are many ways to get potions, none of the other methods are as effective for getting potions as farming dungeons.

Getting potions of greater and superior rarity can be difficult, which is why you should use the Potion Mixer that is located in the Ascend tab of the Tavern.

In the Potion Mixer, you can combine potions of lesser rarity to potions of higher.

Here is an overview of the cost to mix potions:

  • 10 Lesser Potions -> 1 Greater Potion
  • 10 Greater Potions -> 1 Superior Potion

Besides the potion cost, there is also a 20,000 Silver cost to mix lesser potions into greater potions and a 100,000 Silver cost to mix greater potions into superior potions.

Ascension potion requirements chart

The combination of potions required to ascend champions to the next level depends on the rarity and the current ascension level of the champion that you wish to ascend.

Arcane potions are the general white potions that all champions need when being ascended.

Affinity potions are the colored potions that correspond to the four affinities, of which champions require the one corresponding to their affinity.

Here is a complete overview of the potion requirements needed to ascend champions to their next level.

You’ll find a chart for each rarity, except common, which cannot be ascended.

Boosts from ascension

Ascending a champion in RAID: Shadow Legends increases their power in several ways.

First of all, their base stats are increased, which not only improves their power directly but also makes artifacts that give +% stat scale better.

Secondly, ascending a champion to ascension level three gives it a new skill or upgrades a current one.

You can see whether or not a new skill will be unlocked at ascension level three under the skills tab of a champion.

If there is a locked skill with ascension level 3 on it in the skills tab of a champion, it’ll unlock that skill at ascension level three. If not, it will have one of its current skills upgraded at ascension level three.

At ascension levels 5 and 6, you unlock the amulet and banner slot. Being able to equip both of these accessories will greatly increase the damage of your champion.

Ascension priority

Ascension is only one of many ways to increase the power of champions in RAID: Shadow Legends, and as shown in the charts above, the potion costs quickly become expensive.

Therefore, you shouldn’t worry about getting your champions to the highest ascension level as soon as possible.

Instead, we recommend that you try to get your champions to ascension level 3 quickly to get the new skill or skill upgrade, and then don’t actively farm for potions until you can easily acquire lots of them.

Otherwise, you might end up spending a bunch of energy that you could have used for other activities that would have resulted in a higher power increase for your champions.

Once you start being able to easily farm stage 10 and later in dungeons, then you can start farming to ascend champions to ascension level 5 and a little later level 6.

Furthermore, the requirements for ascending champions increase sharply the higher the rarity of a champion, so take that into consideration, too.

It’s much easier farming-wise to get a rare champion to ascension level 5 or 6 than a legendary one.

Ascending a champion to a high ascension level is, however, crucial to its power late-game, and at that point, you want to have all your champions ascended as much as possible.

Can you ascend common champions?

No, you cannot ascend champions of common rarity in RAID: Shadow Legends.

If you’ve ever tried to ascend a champion in the game and have gotten the message “This Champion cannot Ascend.”, then it’s because that champion is common.

You can ascend any other champion in the game that is of uncommon or higher rarity.

That’s everything you need to know about the ascension system in RAID: Shadow Legends!

RAID: Shadow Legends – Best Artifacts, Sets, & Accessories Guide https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-best-artifacts-sets-accessories/ https://gamerempire.net/raid-shadow-legends-best-artifacts-sets-accessories/#respond Sun, 23 Jan 2022 14:19:15 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=24555 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

Artifacts, also known as gear, and accessories, have a major impact on both the power of a champion and its playstyle.

How you choose to build a champion in terms of artifact sets and the stats on artifacts and accessories can determine what role it plays on your team.

Play Raid Shadow Legends on PC button

With more than 40 sets of artifacts and various accessories for each faction in the game, it can be overwhelming when trying to decide on how to gear up a champion.

Though what artifact set and stats are best to build depends on the champion that you are gearing up, there are some artifact sets, stats, and accessories that are better than others.

Recommended Read: RAID: Shadow Legends How to Upgrade and Rank Up Champions

In general, the best artifact sets to use late-game in RAID: Shadow Legends are Savage, Stun, Swift Parry, Immunity, and Shield.

Earlier on, game when you are progressing through the game, the best artifacts sets are Lifesteal, Speed, Shield, and Accuracy.

Concerning stats, the best artifacts and accessories to use on a champion are ones that have the stat boosts that you need for the specific build you are building for that champion. Usually, the best stats are accuracy, speed, and HP.

Table of contents

Best artifact sets

The set effects of artifacts have a major impact on the total power increase that a champion gets from its gear.

There are more than 40 artifact sets in the game, many of which can be useful, but just as many, if not more, will almost never be worth using.

What artifact set is best for a champion both depend on that champion and the build you are going for, as well as how far into the game you’ve progressed so far.

At the beginning of the game, the following artifacts are, in general, the best to use for your champions:

  • Lifesteal
  • Speed
  • Shield
  • Accuracy

All of these artifact sets can be obtained easily at the beginning of the game, and they will make your champions much stronger, allowing you to progress faster.

Lifesteal is a 4-set effect, which makes your champion heal for 30% of the damage they deal to enemies. This allows them to sustain themselves in battle, thus greatly increasing their chances of surviving.

Speed is a 2-set effect that increases speed by 12%. The speed stat determines whether or not your champion will move before others, as well as how quickly they regain their move-meter – higher speed results in more moves.

Shield is a 4-set effect that gives all of your champions on your team a +30% HP shield, which is determined by the HP of the wearer. So, if you give the Shield set to a champion with tons of HP, it will give a massive shield to ally champions, making your team much tankier.

Accuracy is a 2-set effect that gives the wearer +40 ACC. Accuracy determines the probability that your champion applies debuffs to enemies. Higher accuracy means that your champion is more likely to successfully apply their skills’ debuffs.

You can learn more about each stat in our RAID: Shadow Legends Stats Guide.

Once you reach late-game in RAID: Shadow Legends, the following sets are usually the best to build on your champions:

  • Savage
  • Stun
  • Swift Parry
  • Immunity
  • Shield
  • Stone Skin

Acquiring artifacts with these sets is a bit harder to obtain than the ones for early games, as they are all dropped from dungeon bosses, except for Swift Parry, which has to be forged.

Nevertheless, you should be able to farm a bunch of gear until you get the right stats on them in the late-game. It will just take some time.

Savage is a 4-set effect, which makes the wearer ignore 25% of the enemy’s DEF. The Savage set gives the largest increase to the damage output of all sets in the game, so if you’re building for maximum damage, go with Savage.

Technically, the Lethal set, also a 4-set effect, is even more powerful than the Savage set, as it gives the same 25% ignore enemy DEF but also gives a 10% Critical Rate buff. The only issue is that it’s much harder to farm the Lethal set as you have to forge in using drops from Doom Tower, so it’s unlikely that you can get good pieces from the set with the right stats. If you are lucky to get pieces from the Lethal set, though, you should use them instead of Savage pieces.

Stun is a 4-set effect that gives the wearer an 18% chance to stun enemies with every attack. This can be a major advantage in battle, as the enemy won’t be able to move when stunned. Be sure to use champions with multiple AoE attacks when building the Stun set, as all of their attacks will have a chance to stun enemies, almost guaranteeing at least one enemy stunned with each attack.

Swift Parry is a 4-set effect that gives both +18% Speed, +30% Critical Damage, and a 50% chance to survive an otherwise fatal attack. Not only does this set give great stat boosts, but the 50% chance to become unkillable can turn a battle around completely.

Immunity is a 4-set effect that makes the champion wearing it immune for the first two turns of a battle. Immunity means that debuffs cannot be applied to you, making your champion hard to take down quickly.

Shield is still an amazing 4-set effect in the late-game of RAID: Shadow Legends, just like it is in the early-game.

Other great set bonuses that can be incredibly powerful through the game are:

  • Cruel
  • Relentless
  • Immortal

We don’t recommend building these sets early on in the game, as it’ll be easier for you to get the above-listed sets in the early-game with the right stats. Furthermore, these sets are great but not as good as the ones we’ve listed for late-game.

In other words, Cruel, Relentless, and Immortal are more situational and are suitable throughout the middle part of your progression in RAID: Shadow Legends.

Cruel is a 2-set effect that gives +15% ATK and 5% Ignore Enemy Defense. This set gives a great damage boost to the wearer, but, of course, not as great a damage boost as Savage. Cruel is, however, a 2-set effect, which means that you can give it to a champion to whom you’ve only given 4 artifacts thus far for a 4-set bonus or 2 2-set bonuses.

Relentless is a 4-set effect that gives the wearer an 18% chance to get an extra turn every time they attack. This set is situational but can be extremely powerful when used with the right champion.

Immortal is a 2-set effect, which gives the wearer both +15% HP and makes them heal 3% of their HP each turn. The Immortal set can be a great addition to the build of a tanky champion.

Stone Skin is a 6-set effect, which gives both +8% HP, +40 RES, +15% DEF, 2 turns Stone Skin buff at the start of a round, and +15% DEF. The Stone Skin buff gives an 85% reduced incoming damage buff as well as a 50% chance of blocking removals or steals. This set is a Hydra set, and though it is a 6-piece set to get all the bonuses above, it, unlike most other sets, gives bonuses per number of artifacts. So, if you wear only one Stone Skin artifact, you get the +8% HP. If you wear 3, you get +8% HP, +40 Res, and +15% DEF, and so on.

When wearing 4 pieces of the Stone Skin set, you get 1 turn of the Stone Skin buff at the start of a round, which is replaced by 2 turns of the same buff when you wear 6 pieces.

Best artifacts and stat priority

There aren’t specific artifacts that can be deemed the best in RAID: Shadow Legends, as what stats a piece of artifact can give depends on what type of artifact it is. The best artifacts for a champion depend on the build and the stats that are best for that champion.

You can find more info on what stats you generally want to aim for and what stats you want on the different types of artifacts with variable main stat.

All helmets in the game, for example, always give +HP as their main stat. So the best helmet for a champion is the one that fits the set bonus you are building towards. You then also want it to have the right substats, which you can get by farming it over and over.

Substats on all artifacts are always rolled randomly upon them being obtained, while the main stat on weapons, helmets, and shields are always +ATK, +HP, and +DEF.

The main stat on Gauntlets, Chestplates, Boots, and accessories can be different stats. Get a full overview of the various stat boosts the different artifact types can give in our RAID: Shadow Legends gear guide.

Even though artifacts can have many combinations of main and substats, making tons of unique builds possible, there are some combinations that just are better than others.

In RAID: Shadow Legends, the following stats are generally the best and are needed by almost all champions in the game:

  • Accuracy
  • Speed

If a champion has one or more skills that have a chance to apply any debuff or crowd control to enemies, they need accuracy. If a champion is a support or a debuffer with important skills that have a probability to apply, accuracy is the single most important stat for it, followed by speed.

The more accuracy they have, the more likely it is that their debuff or crowd control will work at the probability written in the skill description.

Speed is a stat that every single champion benefits from, as it not only makes them move before other champions if they have a higher speed stat than them, but they also regain turn meter faster.

The faster turn meter regeneration results in more moves per battle, increasing both the utility and damage output of any champion.

The following stats should be prioritized after accuracy and speed, depending on the champion:

  • HP
  • Defense
  • Critical Rate
  • Critical Damage
  • ATK

HP and Defense are important stats to have on a champion to make sure they can survive for long enough.

Early on, you don’t need to build HP or Defense for attacking champions, but late-game, you need to. Otherwise, they will be taken out before they can do any work.

Critical Rate and Critical Damage are both stats that will increase the damage output of your champions significantly. If you’re building an attacker, you want to build towards having 100% critical rate.

ATK can further increase your damage output if you have optimized your critical rate and damage already. Do make sure to read the skills of your champions, though, as you only want to build the ATK stat on a champion if its skills scale with ATK. Some scale with other stats like HP.

When building Critical Damage, be sure to also build Critical Rate to get the most out of the damage increase from Critical Damage.

If a stat has both a + stat and a +% stat, like there is both a + HP and a +% HP on chestplates, then you want to go for the +% stat. Not all stats have a +% alternative, though. Speed and Accuracy do not, for example.

The same exact stat boost cannot appear twice on an item. For instance, if you get +% ATK as your main stat on a pair of gauntlets, then they cannot have +% ATK on any of their substat lines. Similarly, if you get +% ATK on one of your substat lines, then the remaining substat lines cannot have it either.

You can, however, get two lines that boost the same stat, if it’s + stat and a +% stat lines.

Here are some of the main stats that you usually want to aim for on Gauntlets, Chestplates, Boots, and accessories, the artifacts with variable main stats:

  • Gauntlets (Gloves) = +%C. RATE
  • Boots = +SPD
  • Chest = +% ATK, HP, or DEF, depending on champion
  • Ring = Stat corresponding to champion
  • Amulet = +% C. DMG
  • Banner = +ACC or +RESIST

To sum up what the best artifacts are in RAID: Shadow Legends, you want to acquire artifacts that suit the build of the champion that you are gearing up.

The best artifacts in the game are the ones that have the right stats rolled on their main and or substats, including the bonuses you get when enhancing them.

Before you start farming any piece of artifact for a champion to get the right stats, find out what combination of artifact sets you want to build on that champion and then farm the artifact pieces from that set.

There are three types of accessories in RAID: Shadow Legends:

  • Ring
  • Amulet
  • Banner

You can equip a ring no matter the ascension level of a champion, but the amulet and banner slots are first unlocked at ascension levels 5 and 6.

Accessories do not have set effects, which means that the only factor in what the best accessory is for a champion is what stats it gives.

The best accessory for a champion is the one that gives the main stat and substats that the champion needs for its build.

All three types of accessories can have various main stats as well as substats, each of which are rolled upon being obtained.

You can see what main stats and substats each type of accessory can give in our artifacts guide.

Accessories in RAID: Shadow Legends are bound to factions, meaning that there is a Lizardmen-specific ring, amulet, and banner in the game, for example.

The best stats to aim for on your accessories depends on how you’re building a champion, just like when you’re deciding what stats to go for on your artifacts.

Again, there are some stats that are usually the best to prioritize for all champions, as outlined in the previous paragraph.

Those are the best artifact sets, artifacts, and accessories in RAID: Shadow Legends!
