Tackles are a really important part of fishing that will improve the overall experience forever, making the early game seem like a slog.

In this guide, we will go through all the Fishing Rods and Tackles and decide which ones are the best to use in Stardew Valley.

Table of Contents

Best Fishing Rod in Stardew Valley

There are 4 fishing rods in Stardew Valley, and they all unlock at Willy’s Shop based on your Fishing level.

This means that the best fishing rod should be the one unlocked at the highest level.

The Iridium Rod is the best fishing rod in Stardew Valley since it’s the only one that can use Tackles alongside Bait.

What Is a Fishing Tackle?

The Tackle in Stardew Valley is a special item that you can only attach to the Iridium Rod.

These Tackles can give you various advantages while fishing, ranging from increasing the size of the fishing bar in the mini-game to increasing the quality of the caught fish.

There are 9 Tackles in Stardew Valley in total, and they are all useful in their own way. Here is a list of all the Tackles in Stardew Valley, along with what bonuses they give you:

  • Spinner – The shape makes it spin around in the water. Slightly increases the bite rate when fishing.
  • Dressed Spinner – The metal tab and colorful streamers create an enticing spectacle for fish. Increases the bite rate when fishing.
  • Trap Bobber – Causes fish to escape slower when you aren’t reeling them in.
  • Cork Bobber – Slightly increases the size of your “fishing bar”.
  • Lead Bobber – Adds weight to your “fishing bar”, preventing it from bouncing along the bottom.
  • Treasure Hunter – Fish don’t escape while collecting treasures. Also slightly increases the chance to find treasures.
  • Barbed Hook – Makes your catch more secure, causing the “fishing bar” to cling to your catch. Works best on slow, weak fish.
  • Curiosity Lure – Increases your chance to catch rare fish.
  • Quality Bobber – Boosts the quality of fish that you catch.

What Tackle Is the Best in Stardew Valley?

The best fishing Tackle in Stardew Valley is the Trap Bobber. Though all the other tackles give you interesting bonuses, the Trap Bobber offers the best advantage of all: more time.

Trap Bobber

When fighting the most powerful and difficult-to-catch fish in Stardew Valley, they will often move in erratic ways that you can’t really combat using the other tackles.

However, the Trap Bobber just makes sure that they don’t escape while you figure out your footing.

Though it isn’t as flashy as Lead Bobber, for example, it is incredible for its efficiency in making fishing a lot easier.

Usually, if you are hunting for legendary fish, the Trap Bobber is the best tackle you will have at your disposal.

The Trap Bobber is also incredibly easy to get and craft since you only need to reach level 6 Fishing to unlock its recipe and Copper Bar x1 and Sap x10 to craft it.

One of the things that also makes the Trap Bobber amazing, which doesn’t really have to do with fishing, is that you can sell it for a profit. Trap Bobber materials are extremely easy to get, and you can sell the item for 200 g.

Otherwise, the other two top-tier tackles are the Treasure Hunter and the Dressed Spinner. When it comes to day-to-day fishing, treasures are an amazing find. This is why the Treasure Hunter is an amazing tackle.

Treasure Hunter

The Treasure Hunter allows you to capture the treasure without losing progress with the fish that you are catching. With the help of this tackle, you can get all the treasure while also getting the fish.

Usually, if you are also looking for rare minerals and ores, you should use the Treasure Hunter to make your future mining run less important.

You can easily get the Treasure Hunter tackle for 750 g at Willy’s Shop after reaching level 7 in Fishing.

Dressed Spinner

The Dressed Spinner and its weaker brother, the Spinner, will make sure that a fish bites your hook faster, allowing you to catch more fish in a day than you would normally, making the whole experience much better.

The normal time it takes for a fish to bite is from around 1 to 30 seconds. However, with the help of the Dressed Spinner, players will reduce the maximum time from 30 seconds to 22.5 seconds.

Each Fishing level also lowers the maximum time by 0.25 seconds, which means that at the highest Fishing level, you can get with food (level 15) and with the Dressed Spinner, your max time for a fish to bite would be 18.75 seconds.

To get the Dressed Spinner tackle in Stardew Valley, you will need to reach level 8 Fishing and craft it using Iron Bar x2 and Cloth x1. If you don’t have Cloth, you can also purchase it for 1k g.

Cork Bobber

Though we don’t consider the Cork Bobber one of the best Tackles in Stardew Valley, it is probably the best one for beginners. The Cork Bobber increases the size of the green bar used in the fishing minigame by 24 pixels.

At level 0 Fishing, the green bar is 96 pixels. The bar then increases by 8 pixels every level.

You can get the Cork Bobber once you reach level 7, when the bar will be 152. This means that you can increase the size of the green bar at level 7 when you get the Cork Bobber by around 15%.

This is going to be great for beginners who still haven’t really mastered the fishing minigame, but it is generally a waste of a good tackle if the minigame isn’t a problem for you.

You can craft the Cork Bobber using Wood x10, Hardwood x5, and Slime x10.

What Tackles Are the Worst?

Though most tackles in Stardew Valley are actually useful, and any player can find a use for them, there are some that you should always avoid. Those are the Barbed Hook and the Lead Bobber.

The Barbed Hook makes the green bar follow the fish. This is relatively efficient against really slow fish but incredibly bad for fast fish.

This means that you will avoid learning how to fish properly while also missing out on the best fish in the game.

The Lead Bobber makes sure that the green bar doesn’t bounce when you hit the bottom of the fishing minigame bar.

Though many players have lost fish in the history of Stardew Valley due to that bounce, it still isn’t worth it to use this tackle.

The bounce can be easily beaten by learning how to time the rise of the green bar before reaching the bottom.

So, instead of relying on a bad gimmick, it would be better to learn how to beat the minigame and get some cool tackles that actually help you.

However, while they are searching for the Copper, Iron, Gold, and Iridium ores, there will be many other items that come out and right into their inventory that many might not know how to use.

Diamonds are the most expensive gem (after the Prismatic Shard) in Stardew Valley and you might want to know what you can do with it besides sell it.

Players in Stardew Valley can use their Diamonds to upgrade weapons at the Forge, gift them to many of the villagers who love them, use them to craft Fairy Dust or complete Fish Pond quests.

Table of Contents

What to Do with Diamonds in Stardew Valley

There are actually quite a lot of things you can do with Diamonds in Stardew Valley:

  • Gift it
  • Upgrade Weapons
  • Craft Items with it
  • Complete quests
  • Trade it for Triple Shot Espresso
  • Sell it

Gifting it

Diamonds are a universally liked gift in Stardew Valley. This means that absolutely everyone likes it and you will get 45 friendship points (close to 15% of a heart) with a villager that gets it.

There are also 8 villagers who love Diamonds, which means that you will get 80 friendship points (close to 30% of a heart) with them:

If you make sure to always have a few Diamonds ready for their birthdays, you will get at least 2 hearts with them just by gifting them this item at the right time.

Giving a loved gift to someone on their birthday will get you 640 friendship points, which is huge.

Upgrading Weapons

If you’ve finished your first or second year in Pelican Town and have already discovered Ginger Island, then there is something great you can do there with the help of Diamonds.

At the Forge, hidden at the end of the Volcano Dungeon on Ginger Island, players can upgrade their weapons’ stats using gems. Each gem will upgrade a different stat. For example, a Ruby will increase the damage of a weapon.

There are 6 types of upgrades you can give your weapons and each weapon can only get a total of 3 upgrades. The Diamond is special because you can use it to give your weapon a random upgrade.

Though you lose the choice of upgrading whatever you want for your weapon, you don’t have to worry about how your weapon evolves each time.

Here are the 6 types of upgrades your weapon can get and the gems you would have to use to get them specifically:

  • Amethyst – +1 Knockback per Upgrade
  • Aquamarine – +4.6% Critical hit chance per Upgrade
  • Emerald – +2 Weapon Speed per Upgrade
  • Jade – +10% Critical hit damage per Upgrade
  • Ruby – +10% Damage per Upgrade
  • Topaz – +1 Defense per Upgrade

Crafting Items

There are three items you can craft in Stardew Valley using Diamonds:

  • Geode Crusher
  • Fairy Dust
  • Ring of Yoba

The Geode Crusher is a special item you can craft by completing a Special Order for Gus which allows you to open Geodes without having to go to the Blacksmith each time.

It works a lot like the Furnace, so you might have to craft more than one if you tend to spend a lot of time in dungeons.

The Fairy Dust is an item that allows Furnaces, Kegs, and other processing stations to instantly finish what they are doing.

The recipe for Fairy Dust is hard to get as you need to have reached Ginger Island first, but it is worth the effort.

Fairy Dust is the closest thing players will get to cheats as it will allow them to instantly get all the Wine and Ingots they want instantly just by using this item.

The Ring of Yoba is a ring that will occasionally protect you from damage. It’s not that good compared to other equipment rings you can get, so you don’t really need to craft this one.

Completing Quests

There are two types of quests in Stardew Valley that may require Diamonds:

  • Help Wanted Quests
  • Fish Pond Quests

At the Help Wanted board in front of Pierre’s Store, players can find quests that will want you to give a Diamond for 2,250 g and 150 friendship points. This is a great bargain since you would normally sell the Diamond for 750 g.

Fish Ponds will give you special quests each time you want to increase their maximum population.

Here are the Fish Ponds in Stardew Valley that might ask you to give them Diamonds, and the amount they would want:

  • Catfish – 1 Diamond
  • Lava Eel – 2 Diamonds
  • Rainbow Trout – 1 Diamond
  • Spook Fish – 1 Diamond
  • Sturgeon – 1 Diamond
  • Super Cucumber – 1 Diamond
  • Void Salmon – 1 Diamond

Trading it

Another really useful thing you can do with Diamonds in Stardew Valley is trade them for Triple Shot Espressos at the Desert Trader.

The Desert Trader is a special merchant in the Calico Desert that will trade you items for gems, minerals, and monster loot.

The Triple Shot Espresso gives you a +1 Speed buff that will allow you to move a lot faster than normal. With +1 to your Speed, you would move almost as fast as you would on a horse.

Selling it

If you don’t want to do any of the things listed above, then you can just sell your Diamonds for 750 g. Players who also love selling gems can get the Gemologist profession, which will increase the sell price by 30%.

With that profession, you can sell Diamonds for 974 g.

That’s everything you need to know about what to do with Diamonds in Stardew Valley!

Stardew Valley – How to Catch Red Snapper https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-catch-red-snapper/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-catch-red-snapper/#respond Mon, 15 Jan 2024 13:36:42 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=62306 In Stardew Valley, players will have a lot of possible hobbies and jobs they can do in their spare time besides tending to their crops. As you will usually just have to plant, water, and harvest crops, you will need to find something better to do in your spare time.

Fishing is the most profitable pass time in the early game of Stardew Valley, as you can easily get instant gold to help you purchase new items for the farm.

Recommended Read: How to Propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley

The Red Snapper is one of the most common fish in the early game of Stardew Valley, and many players can find it difficult to catch it due to the hard fishing minigame.

You can catch a Red Snapper in Stardew Valley by fishing at the Beach during the Summer and Fall on rainy days. If you selected the Beach Farm, you can also catch it on the farm.

Table of Contents

How to Catch a Red Snapper in Stardew Valley

The Red Snapper is a saltwater fish that you can only catch in Stardew Valley by fishing at the Beach or at the Beach Farm (if you chose it at the start of the game) during the Summer and Fall while it rains.

You can also attempt to catch it in the Winter if you use a Rain Totem.

Unfortunately, you can’t just fish at any time during the day, though. The Red Snapper is only available from 6 AM to 7 PM. Luckily, these are the common hours for most players to try to catch fish.

The Red Snapper is relatively easy to catch since it only uses basic up and down movements to escape your hook.

To catch the Red Snapper in Stardew Valley, you will just need to be careful as you move the green bar toward the fish and usually try to keep the fish in the upper side of the bar.

When it rises, try to touch it only with the upper part of the green bar to easily go down when it drops.

Luckily, it is the 10th easiest fish to catch in the game when it comes to pure movement difficulty.

How to Catch It When It Doesn’t Rain

One of the annoying things about catching a Red Snapper is that it can only be caught while it rains. Since you can’t really control the weather all the time without totems, you will need other ways to catch this early-game fish.

From Qi’s Walnut Room on Ginger Island, players can purchase 20 Magic Bait for 5 Qi Gems. You can also buy the recipe to make them yourself for 20 Qi Gems.

This Magic Bait can be attached to the Fishing Pole to ignore season, time, and weather requirements for catching fish.

This means that if you use Magic Bait while fishing in the ocean, you have a decent chance of catching a Red Snapper, no matter the season or time of day.

You can only use the Magic Bait with the Fiberglass Rod or with the Iridium Rod, so make sure to bring one of them along for your fishing session.

Since Ginger Island is a relatively late-game area, you aren’t likely to use the amazing Magic Bait early in the game, but if you just want to catch the Red Snapper to complete a quest or for gifts, this is the best way to go about it.

Where to Catch a Red Snapper

The only place you can attempt to catch a Red Snapper in Stardew Valley is the ocean at the Beach or the one on your Beach Farm during rainy Summer or Fall days.

All other bodies of water will yield only other types of fish.

You can easily catch it if you attempt to get it in shallow water, as there won’t be a lot of competition. Players will most likely end up getting either trash or the Red Snapper.

What to Do with a Red Snapper

Unfortunately, since the Red Snapper is one of the easiest fish to catch in Stardew Valley, you won’t really have a lot of use for it:

  • Complete the Ocean Fish Bundle
  • Cook Food
  • Red Dye
  • Fish Pond

Community Center Bundle

The most common reason to catch a Red Snapper in Stardew Valley is to complete the Ocean Fish Bundle at the Community Center. Once you do this, you will normally never have to catch one again.

Cook Food

If you manage to catch a lot of them by accident, you can use them as part of the common food recipes that use fish since they aren’t that expensive:

  • Maki Roll (Recipe Source: TV, 21 Summer, Year 1)
  • Sashimi (Recipe Source: Mail, Linus, 3 hearts)

Red Dye

Since you can get a lot of Red Snappers, you can use them as Red Dye at the Sewing Machine or Dye Pots inside of Emily’s house.

Luckily, it is a weak dye material, which means you can use it to reach the exact hue of red you want using it. You would need 4 Red Snappers to make a shirt the purest red you can get.

Fish Pond

Most Fish Ponds are very useful since they give you passive resources that you would normally have to go through a lot of effort to get.

Unfortunately, the Red Snapper continues to be a disappointment as it can only produce Roe in the Fish Pond. The only use you could have for the Roe is that you could use it as an Orange dye material, even though it’s red.

Stardew Valley – How to Propose to an NPC https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-propose-to-an-npc/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-propose-to-an-npc/#respond Mon, 15 Jan 2024 12:55:59 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=62300 Stardew Valley is a farming and life simulation game where you get to start your life anew in the ramshackle of a farm that your grandfather left you as inheritance.

Since Stardew Valley is about more than just planting crops, mining, and fishing, many players would like to know how to propose to their favorite bachelor/bachelorette.

Recommended Read: How to Use Crab Pots in Stardew Valley

Unfortunately, proposing to NPCs in this game is not an easy process since you need to get a rare item and also make sure that you have the best possible relationship with the person you are interested in.

To propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley, you first need to reach 10 hearts with them, upgrade the farmhouse to the second level, and then give your partner the Mermaid’s Pendant.

Table of Contents

How to Propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley

The first step to actually proposing to an NPC in Stardew Valley is getting 10 friendship hearts with them. You can do this by giving them two gifts every week (preferably something they love) and talking to them every day.

Once you reach 7 hearts, you will need to give them a Bouquet from Pierre’s General Store to start dating them.

Unfortunately, most romanceable NPCs will have a maximum of 7 hearts until you date them. Giving them a Bouquet will unlock the final 3 hearts, allowing you to get to 10 hearts.

After that, you will need to put in the work to get to 10 friendship hearts, which will get you a letter in the mail from Mayor Lewis saying that you will need the Mermaid’s Pendant to ask your significant other to become your wife/husband.

However, your partner will not accept your proposal until you upgrade the farmhouse to the second level, which allows the NPC to get a special room to the side of the house, so make sure to do that first.

Then, to propose in Stardew Valley, give your NPC partner the Mermaid’s Pendant, they will accept (if all requirements are met), and your wedding will take place 3 days later, organized by your fiance.

How to Get the Mermaid’s Pendant and Get Married

Getting the Mermaid’s Pendant to propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley is actually the hardest part of the process since you can only purchase this item from a rare shopkeeper that only spawns on rainy days.

The Old Mariner is a special NPC that will start appearing on the Beach, next to the tidal pools to the east, on rainy days after you receive the letter from Mayor Lewis about proposing to a villager.

You can reach his location in the eastern part of the Beach if you fix the bridge using Wood x300.

The Mermaid’s Pendant costs 5,000 g, and the Old Mariner will only sell it to players if they have a villager with a 10 hearts relationship, an upgraded farmhouse, and aren’t married already to someone else.

Marriage and Married Life

After you propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley, you will have to wait 3 days for the wedding to happen. So, if you propose to someone on the 1st day of the month, the wedding cutscene will start on the 4th day of the month.

Once you two are married, you will now unlock four new extra hearts that you can get with your spouse, which will trigger a new cutscene at the final level of friendship.

One problem you will also have now is that you will lose 20 friendship points with the spouse every day if you don’t talk to them.

Since you both wake up in the same house, it should be relatively easy to talk to them every day.

The NPC will also take care of the farm if they are happy. They will repair fences, water crops, make you breakfast, and feed animals.

That’s everything you need to know about how to propose to an NPC in Stardew Valley!

Stardew Valley – How to Use Crab Pot https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-use-crab-pot/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-use-crab-pot/#respond Sat, 13 Jan 2024 09:22:44 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=62124 In Stardew Valley, fishing is one of the best ways to make a lot of money and jumpstart the economy of your dilapidated farm.

Luckily, fishing is more than just that annoying minigame where you have to move a green bar up and down to catch something to sell. You can also use a Crab Pot to passively catch fish and make money.

Recommended Read: How to Dye Clothes in Stardew Valley

The Crab Pot is the cheat that all players that hate fishing should use, as it allows them to level up their Fishing skill while also getting some of those much-needed Bundle ingredients.

To use the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley, you just need to approach a body of water, such as the ocean, lake, or river, and place the item down in it. Then, hold Bait in your hands and interact with the floating Crab Pot to fill it up. Check on it the next day and find either items, trash, or fish inside.

Table of Contents

What Is the Crab Pot and How to Craft It (Recipe)

The Crab Pot is a special fishing item in Stardew Valley that passively catches marine wildlife as you go about your day. In many ways, it works like a trap that catches something every day.

The items you can get from the Crab Pot range from trash to Lobsters. Since there is a high chance that you will only get bad items from the Pot, many players usually consider the Crab Pot relatively useless.

However, many of the fish you can catch using a Crab Pot are unique only to the Pot, and you can’t catch them using a fishing pole.

There is also a Bundle in the Community Center that uses only fish caught with the Crab Pot, so you will need to learn how to use it.

To get the recipe for the Crab Pot and start crafting it in Stardew Valley, you will need to reach Fishing level 3. Once you do, you will need Wood x40 and Iron Bar x3 to craft it in the Crafting menu.

If you get the Trapper profession, which is great if you want to use a lot of Crab Pots in the future, you can start crafting them for Wood x25 and Copper Bar x2.

How to Use the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley

Luckily, it is very easy to use a Crab Pot. To use a Crab Pot in Stardew Valley, you just need to follow these simple steps:

  1. Hold the Crab Pot in your hands, approach a body of water, and press the Use Tool button (left click, X on Xbox, square on PS, and Y on Switch) when the highlighted Crab Pot is green.
  2. Hold Bait in your hands and press the Do Action button (right click, A on Xbox and Switch, and X on PS) while standing next to the Crab Pot to put it inside. You can also press the Use Tool button while hovering over the Crab Pot.
  3. Wait until the next day and interact with the Crab Pot to get your reward.

Depending on the location you are fishing, there are a couple of types of fish and items you can get.

Saltwater and freshwater yield different rewards, so make sure to have some Crab Pots at both the ocean and river/lake to get all the possible fish.

Saltwater Crab Pot Rewards

Here are all the fish you can catch in saltwater (the Beach, Beach Farm, and Ginger Island) using the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley:

  • Lobster – Price: 120g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Clam – Price: 50g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Crab – Price: 100g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Cockle – Price: 50g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Mussel – Price: 30g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Shrimp – Price: 60g, Chance to Catch: 14%
  • Oyster – Price: 40g, Chance to Catch: 14%

Freshwater Crab Pot Rewards

Here are all the fish you can catch in freshwater (Cindersap Forest, Farm ponds, Mountain lake, Pelican Town river) using the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley:

  • Crayfish – Price: 75g, Chance to Catch: 33%
  • Snail – Price: 65g, Chance to Catch: 33%
  • Periwinkle – Price: 20g, Chance to Catch: 33%

Best Crab Pot Locations

Since you get different types of fish in saltwater and freshwater, there are better places to use the Crab Pot.

If you care about money, then the ocean/beach is the best location to use the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley since the overall value of the fish is better.

However, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t use Crab Pots in other places since you will need to do so to get all the fishing-related rewards.

So, the best strategy is to set up 75% of your Crab Pots in the ocean at the Beach and 25% in the closest freshwater to your farm that you usually pass.

Most farms have ponds on them, so set up a few in those since you get the same rewards even if you place them in the farm ponds, Cindersap Forest river, or Mountain lake.

If you live on the Beach farm, then set them up at the Mountain lake since you can check them out when you go to the Mines.

Why Is the Crab Pot Not Working/Giving Only Trash?

Unfortunately, there is a 38% chance every time you loot a Crab Pot in Stardew Valley to get trash items.

You can only fix this by getting the Mariner profession at level 10 Fishing after picking the Trapper profession at level 5.

This is why you will often just get trash in exchange for your Bait. Luckily, since you can craft a lot of Crab Pots and Bait, you can repeat the process every day and hope for something better.

If the Crab Pot doesn’t seem to be working, then you likely haven’t followed the steps from above properly. Make sure there is Bait inside the Crab Pot otherwise you won’t get anything.

The animation for the Crab Pot is different when there is Bait inside it, so make sure to look at it a bit and even try putting Bait inside again, just to check it’s set up.

That’s everything you need to know about how to use the Crab Pot in Stardew Valley!

Stardew Valley – How to Dye Clothes https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-dye-clothes/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-dye-clothes/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2023 09:03:02 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=60412 Personal style is very important in Stardew Valley. Though almost no one will ever talk to you about your fashion sense in Pelican Town, many players like to show their incredible choice of clothing when posting pictures of their farm online.

One very important part of looking your best in Stardew Valley is to choose which colors you want your clothes to have. If you just get basic clothes with their default colors, you are nothing more than the boring city person who just moved to Pelican Town.

Recommended Read: How to Use Fish Tackle in Stardew Valley

However, if you know how to dye your clothes and even make new ones, you will fit right in with the eccentric community of Pelican Town NPCs and Stardew Valley fans around the world.

To dye your clothes in Stardew Valley, you will either need to use the Dye Pots or the Sewing Machine, which are both available in Emily’s house after getting your first piece of Cloth.

Table of Contents

How to Dye Clothes in Stardew Valley

To dye clothes in Stardew Valley, you will need to use one of two items:

  • Dye Pots
  • Sewing Machine

Both of them are available to use inside Emily and Haley’s house, the one with a little sun over the door, in the southwestern part of Pelican Town once you pick up your first ever Cloth.

Emily will come over the next day and tell you about the machines waiting inside her house.

If you go inside their house, you will see a room in the southern part of the house that has a Sewing Machine to the left and Dye Pots to the right.

How to Use the Dye Pots

If you interact with the Dye Pots, you will open a menu where you will see six differently colored pots and your inventory.

To dye clothes in Stardew Valley using the Dye Pots, you will need at least one item to put inside all of the colored pots.

Once you put an item in all of the pots, you can instantly change the color of any piece of clothing that you are wearing at the moment of the interaction.

You can only use items with the same color as the pots to fill them. For example, the red pot could use an Apple, and the yellow pot could use a Dandelion.

This means that you need 6 different items, which represent the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

To make your task easier, here is a table with all the items that you can use with the Dye Pots, along with the color they represent.

Make sure to bring one for each color when you want to use the Dye Pots to dye clothes in Stardew Valley:

How to Use the Sewing Machine

When you interact with the Sewing Machine in Emily’s house (and also the one you can get later in the game), you will open a menu that shows you a sewing machine and your inventory.

You will have two slots where you can insert items.

One is the feed, which is in the bottom left part of the sewing machine, where you can either insert a piece of Cloth or a piece of clothing you want to dye in Stardew Valley.

In the upper corner, in the spool, you can insert materials you want to use for the process. For dying, you will need to place an item with the color you want in the spool.

Depending on the strength of the material, the clothing will change colors a bit to match the material.

All materials have a strength when it comes to color that ranges from 25 to 100%. If you use a weak material with 25% strength, then your clothing will only change its color a bit to match the color of the material.

If the material is strong, with 100% strength, it will instantly change the color of the item to the color of the material.

You can also use weak materials 4 times if you want to fully dye a piece of clothing to the color of that material.

Though the Sewing Machine can be used to get interesting combinations between the color of the clothing and the material, it is much more inefficient than the Dye Pots.

However, because it only requires one material, it is much easier to use.

Stardew Valley – How to Use Fish Tackle https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-use-fish-tackle/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-use-fish-tackle/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2023 08:35:36 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=60408 Fishing in Stardew Valley is relatively straightforward: you throw the hook of your fishing rod into any body of water, wait a bit for an exclamation mark to appear above your head, and then play an annoying mini-game to try to catch the fish or trash, depending on your luck.

However, as you progress through the levels, you will notice that you have a few more things you can use to make the whole process a lot more efficient and even simpler.

The Tackle you get to use when you get the Iridium Rod is one of the few items that will make fishing much more enjoyable in Stardew Valley since it allows you to choose from a couple of bonuses to make everything easier.

To use the Fish Tackle in Stardew Valley, you need to pick it up in your inventory and place it inside the Iridium Rod. Then, when you go fishing, the tackle will be automatically used.

What Is a Fish Tackle?

The Fish Tackle in Stardew Valley is a special item that you can only attach to the Iridium Rod.

Stardew Valley – How to Make Oil for Cooking https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-make-oil-for-cooking/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-how-to-make-oil-for-cooking/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2023 08:16:55 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=60404 As most of us know, Oil is a very important ingredient in most cooking dishes. The same goes for Stardew Valley, as there are around a dozen different dishes that need it.

Unfortunately, Oil is not some random ingredient you can grow in your garden since you need to combine different crops and machines to get it.

You can also easily buy it from a store for a relatively cheap price, but what would be the pleasure in that? You need to make your own Oil on your farm to feel like a real farmer.

To make Oil for cooking in Stardew Valley, you will need to process either Sunflower, Sunflower Seeds, or Corn in the Oil Maker.

Table of Contents

How to Make Oil for Cooking in Stardew Valley

To make Oil in Stardew Valley, you will first need to get the Oil Maker. This is a special machine that regular Oil and Truffle Oil using various ingredients, the same way the Preserves Jar turns vegetables into Pickles.

The only way you can get the Oil Maker in Stardew Valley is to reach level 8 Farming and then make it from the Crafting menu using Slime x50, Hardwood x20, and a Gold Bar.

You can then place the Oil Maker wherever you want on the farm.

Once it is down, just approach it while holding either a Sunflower, Sunflower Seeds, or Corn and interact with it.

In a maximum of 2 days (depending on what ingredient you use), Oil will wait for you in the machine, ready for pick up.

Here is the exact time it takes for all the ingredients to turn into Oil in the Oil Maker in Stardew Valley:

  • Corn – 1000 minutes (16h 40m / 14h overnight)
  • Sunflower Seeds – 3200 minutes (2 days)
  • Sunflower – 60 minutes (1h)

As you can see, the Sunflower is the best item to use to get Oil for cooking in Stardew Valley since it is processed faster than any of the others.

All Cooking Recipes that Need Oil

Since we need this Oil for cooking, here are all the potential recipes that use Oil to make in Stardew Valley:

  • Bruschetta
  • Crab Cakes
  • Crispy Bass
  • Fiddlehead Risotto
  • Fried Calamari
  • Fried Eel
  • Fried Mushroom
  • Hashbrowns
  • Oil of Garlic
  • Radish Salad
  • Stir Fry

All of them require only 1 Oil item to cook, so you don’t really need to go and make yourself a full Sunflower field just yet.

Stardew Valley – What to Do With Golden Pumpkin https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-what-to-do-with-golden-pumpkin/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-what-to-do-with-golden-pumpkin/#respond Mon, 11 Dec 2023 13:48:27 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=60016 The Spirit’s Eve festival in Stardew Valley is closely related to Halloween, which means Pumpkins are very important during this time of celebration. As you progress through the scary maze that the Wizard created for Pelican Town, you will find at the end a Golden Pumpkin.

Though this Golden Pumpkin looks amazing, it isn’t very clear what you can do with it. The most obvious course of action would be to sell it, considering it is a golden item, and you can generally tell that it will sell well.

Recommended Read: What Happens When You Pass Out in Stardew Valley?

There are a lot of special items in Stardew Valley that you won’t know what to do with, especially considering they don’t offer some kind of guidance, so we will help you figure this out.

In Stardew Valley, players can either sell, gift, or craft the Witch Hat using the Golden Pumpkin. Though you might also think it is an Artifact, it isn’t, which means you can’t give it to the Museum.

Table of Contents

What to Do With a Golden Pumpkin in Stardew Valley

There are only three things you can do with the Golden Pumpkin in Stardew Valley:

  • Sell it.
  • Gift it.
  • Use it to craft the Witch Hat.

Selling the Golden Pumpkin

The most obvious solution here is to just sell the Golden Pumpkin. As the description of the item says, “It’s valuable but has no other purpose”.

The exact value you can sell it for is 2,500 g, which is not necessarily amazing at this point in the game, but it is a “free” item, so to speak.

To sell the Golden Pumpkin, just drop it in the Shipping Bin, and you will get the 2,5k gold the following day.

Gifting the Universally Loved Golden Pumpkin

The Golden Pumpkin is one of the few universally loved items by all the villagers in Stardew Valley.

Even items such as the Prismatic Shard or the Rabbit’s Foot have one person who hates them, but the Golden Pumpkin is different.

You can gift the Golden Pumpkin to any villager in Pelican Town, and they will all love it.

If you have more than enough money and want to quickly get some friendship points with a fellow villager, then gifting the Golden Pumpkin would be a great idea for you.

Crafting the Witch Hat

If you’ve managed to get at least 1 piece of Cloth, then you have likely unlocked the Sewing Machine inside Emeily’s house.

At this device, players can craft various clothing using Cloth and a different material alongside it.

If you use a Cloth and a Golden Pumpkin at the Sewing Machine in Stardew Valley, you will get the Witch Hat, which looks really cool but has no use outside of that, as all the hats in the game.

Stardew Valley – What Happens When You Pass Out: Can You Die? https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-what-happens-when-you-pass-out/ https://gamerempire.net/stardew-valley-what-happens-when-you-pass-out/#respond Sun, 10 Dec 2023 21:01:54 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=60012 Though Stardew Valley is a cute farming game where you get to grow your own crops and build up your farm from scratch, there are some mechanics in the game that will confuse some new players and cause them anxiety due to lack of information.

When you reach negative Energy or 2 AM, your character will pass out in Stardew Valley.

Recommended Read: How to Get and Increase Energy in Stardew Valley

This might seem very worrying since you have no idea what the results of this could be. Most players will want to spend some extra time in the Mines instead of running home at 1 AM.

Still, if you don’t know the exact debuffs that come with this decision, you will likely just avoid it altogether or just be scared of what might happen each time you are working too late on your farm.

If you pass out in Stardew Valley, you lose 50% of your available Energy for the next day and 10% of your gold, up to 1,000 g.

Table of Contents

What Happens When You Pass Out in Stardew Valley

When you pass out in Stardew Valley, you will lose 10% of your gold if it happened outside of your farmhouse, and you will wake up with up to 50% of your maximum Energy.

If you had over 50% Energy when it happened, then you will lose all the extra Energy for the next day.

This means that even if you had 0 Energy when you passed out at 2 AM, you will wake up the next day with 50% of your maximum Energy.

However, if you had more than 50% Energy when you passed out, you will wake up with the same amount of Energy that you had over 50%.

If you pass out due to fighting monsters in a dungeon in Stardew Valley, you will just wake up either on the first floor of the Mines (this only happens in the Mines), in your bed, or in Harvey’s Clinic, and you will lose some items alongside money, which can go up to 5,000 g.

The day will continue from the same point, and you won’t start a new day if you faint from losing all your Health.

Can You Die in Stardew Valley?

No, as opposed to your farm animals, you personally cannot die in Stardew Valley. When you “die” in Stardew Valley due to losing all your Health, you will just wake up, most likely in Harvey’s Clinic, having lost some items and money.

Though there is combat in Stardew Valley, the game is supposed to be a relaxing farming/life simulator, so what the monsters might do to you here and there won’t matter long term.

How You Can Pass Out

There are three reasons you can pass out in Stardew Valley:

  • Stay up past 2 AM.
  • Get -15 Energy.
  • Get 0 Health.

Staying up past 2 AM is the most common way to pass out in Stardew Valley due to how easily you can get distracted while mining for ores, fishing, or farming.

Luckily, if you run fast enough, you can try to faint inside the Farmhouse, which will allow you to not lose any money.

Stardew Valley players can also pass out by working too hard. When you reach 0 Energy in this game, your character will become exhausted, which will make them move slower and work like a snail.

However, if you push through the exhaustion without eating some food, you will still lose Energy using your tools and will pass out if you reach -15 Energy.

This will instantly end the day and start you with only 50% of your Max Energy.

The last way you can find yourself “dying” in Stardew Valley is by losing all of your Health.

This usually happens inside the dungeons where monsters roam, and you will just wake up a second later fully healed but with fewer items and money in your inventory.

That’s everything you need to know about what happens when you pass out in Stardew Valley!
