Play Azur Lane on PC button

There are lots of ships that’ll do well on any fleet, but here are some of the ships that do better than most – Musashi, Ägir, Shinano, Vanguard, New Jersey, and Hakuryuu. If you manage to pull any of these ships, it’ll be a great decision to spend resources on them and put them in your fleet.

You can find more details on these ships, as well as other UR ships, below.

Azur Lane Ultra Rare Ships Tier List

With more than 600 unique ships in Azur Lane, it can be difficult to know which ships you should go for and invest resources in.

Because of the sheer number of ships in the game, only UR ships are ranked. They are the ships that you want to use when you acquire them.

There are ships of lesser rarity that are strong and will do well on the right team, but, in general, UR ships are the strongest.

In the following tier list, all UR ships in Azur Lane are ranked based on how useful they are in a fleet. Both PvE and PvE are taken into consideration. As only UR ships are ranked, the tier for each ship is compared to the other UR ships in the game, not all ships of all rarities.

The current tier list is based on the rankings by the Azur Lane community.

When creating your fleet in Azur Lane, you should also consider factors other than just the power of individual ships. Learn more about these factors in our Azur Lane fleet building guide.

Ships in Azur Lane can be categorized into three main categories based on their position in battle: Backline, also known as the main fleet, Vanguard, and Submarine.

Ships that belong to the Main Fleet category are ships that position themselves in the back of the battle and fire powerful weapons like Air Strikes and Artillery, besides their regular attacks.

The Vanguard is the 3 ships that you control in battle that fight at the frontline and have special weapons, including torpedoes, besides their regular attacks.

Submarines are assisting ships that do damage to enemies automatically in battle and when you move around the battle selection map. You don’t actively control submarines in battles, except for in a few special stages.

Here is a short description of each tier:

S tier – Ships in the S-tier are the best in the game, will do well on any fleet, and bring extraordinary power. If you acquire any of these ships, consider bringing them on your fleet as well as spend significant resources on increasing their power further.

A tier – Ships in the A-tier perform very well in battle and are definitely worth bringing on your fleet if you pull any. All ships in this tier have a lot of potential but fall short of those in S-tier.

B Tier – Ships in the B-tier perform as you’d expect from powerful ships capable of taking on the strongest enemies. You can bring B-Tier ships on your fleet, but you’ll probably end up switching them out sooner or later.

C Tier – Ships in the C-tier are below average in terms of power and usability. These ships are not the greatest and will have to be replaced at some point. You can use C-tier ships to progress, but when you reach later stages, you shouldn’t spend a lot of resources on them.

D Tier – Ships in the D-tier perform way below what you’d expect from top ships. These ships should not be heavily invested in, as they will be replaced soon. At the beginning of the game, you can use D-tier ships with no problems, but you will struggle later on if you don’t acquire better ones.

What Is the Best Starter Ship in Azur Lane?

You can choose between 3 different ships at the beginning of the game: Z23, Laffey, and Javelin.

Azur Lane all starter ships

There is a slight difference between these three ships in terms of stat structure and gameplay.

Later on in the game, you won’t really notice this, however, and will acquire the other two ships through gameplay.

Z23 focuses on damage, having the highest firepower of the three, as well as a skill that compliments her firepower, Ironblood Vanguard, which increases her firepower by 30% for 8 seconds.

Laffey is a more balanced ship with a more balanced stat distribution. Laffey’s skill is Solomon Wargod, which increases her firepower, evasion, and reload time by 20%. If you’re looking for a solid overall ship, Laffey is the one for you.

Javelin is a special ship as she doesn’t have higher defense or firepower than the other two, but she does have slightly higher survivability because of her incredibly high evasion stat. Her skill, Javelin Raid, further boosts her evasion by 30% for 8 seconds, making her even harder to do damage to.

All in all, if you’re looking for damage, go with Z23. If you want an overall solid ship, choose Laffey, and if you want a special evasive ship, pick Javelin.

If I had to rank the three ships on how good they are, I would rank Laffey as number one, Z23 second, and Javelin third. However, as mentioned, they are very close in terms of how good they are, so you can pick whichever as still be just fine.

That’s the tier list on the best ships in Azur Lane.

Controls for playing Azur Lane on PC

In Azur Lane, you control your ships by dragging a controller and use skills by pressing icons on the right-hand side.

On PC, this is difficult to do with a single mouse, which is why you have hotkeys to control your character and skills instead.

By default, you move around using the WASD keys and 1 for skill 1, 2 for skill 2, etc.

However, if you prefer something else, you can change your hotkeys by pressing Edit in the bottom right corner under controls or by pressing the keyboard icon in the right menu and then changing the values that pop up on your screen.

When you’ve assigned the keys you prefer, press save changes in the bottom right corner.

You can also assign and use hotkeys for all other actions in the game, such as craft gear, but it’s probably easier to just use the mouse for such purposes.

In the example below, I’ve changed my hotkeys, so I control my ships on the arrow keys and use skills on Q, W, E.

How to use your Azur Lane account on the PC

Chances are you want to use your Azur Lane account from your mobile device when you play on PC.

Luckily, this can easily be achieved with the account bind feature in Azur Lane.

Go to the main lobby screen on the device with your account you want to use on PC, press settings in the right-hand menu, and go to the account tab.

Here you can choose between three different account binding methods, Twitter, Facebook, and Yostar account.

Choose whatever method you like. Facebook and Twitter are very straightforward, you just press bind to Twitter or Facebook, login if you aren’t already, and then press authorize.

To bind with a Yostar account, put in an email of yours, press the generate button to generate a verification code, and then copy the code from the email you’ll be sent into Azur Lane.

Now that you’ve bound your progress to your account, head back to Azur Lane on your PC, go to settings again, and press logout on the left side.

Benefits of playing Azur Lane on PC

By playing Azur Lane on your PC, you’ll be enjoying a number of benefits.

First and foremost, you’ll be playing on a wider display, which improves the gameplay experience for many players.

Furthermore, many players enjoy the familiar setting they’re used to on their PC setup, where they can do other things while playing the game, including chatting with friends, listening to music, and watching videos.

Most emulators like BlueStacks are built for performance, which means they are better optimized for playing mobile games when paired with your computer hardware than your phone or tablet itself.

If you are experiencing lag when playing Azur Lane on your PC, it’s most likely not that your computer can’t run the game, but because you haven’t enabled virtualization.

You can learn how to enable virtualization for BlueStacks in the following video from our YouTube channel.

BlueStacks also comes with special features that allow you to do setups that aren’t possible with just one mobile device.

With BlueStack’s multi-instance feature, you can play multiple accounts at the same time, just like you had several mobile devices.

But, playing multiple accounts on BlueStacks only requires one device – your computer.

You can take your farming and progress to whole new heights with this feature.

For players who wish to record their gameplay, using an emulator like BlueStacks makes this a whole lot easier.

When you play a mobile game on your PC with an emulator, you can just record it like any other game with software like OBS or Shadowplay, and you can stream it just like any other game as well.

Lastly, playing on your computer allows you to play mobile games in situations where you’d not normally be able to, as you can just close the tab and let the game run in the background while doing other work on the computer.

What is BlueStacks

BlueStacks is an emulator, which is software that emulates a mobile device, allowing you to do activities normally done on mobile devices on your computer.

This means that you essentially have a phone you can control on your computer when using BlueStacks, except for you can’t call from it with cell service.

You can, however, do everything else, including downloading and playing any mobile app and game.

BlueStacks is an Android emulator, which means the software emulates an Android mobile device.

Because of this, you have access to the same features as an Android device, and you can thereby download apps through the Google Play store, not the IOS App Store.

On BlueStacks, you can, however, also download apps and mobile games directly with APK files that you’ve downloaded from third-party websites or app stores.

Azur Lane Beginner’s Guide – Tips & Tricks https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-beginners-guide-tips-tricks/ https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-beginners-guide-tips-tricks/#respond Mon, 23 Dec 2019 18:08:44 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=6996 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

Azur Lane is a popular action RPG mobile game in which you battle enemy fleets with your own.

As the main way of acquiring new ships, which are the characters/heroes of this game, is through a random building process, Azur Lane falls under the gacha games category.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

Compared to other gacha titles, Azur Lane is a much more active game as you control some of your fleet, dodge enemy attacks, and aim and fire your own abilities.

When you start your journey in Azur Lane, things can be overwhelming.

There are a ton of different things to do, ways to upgrade your ship, get resources, etc.

Because of this, many players might feel they miss out on crucial features of the game that can help their fleet.

Therefore, we’ve put together this guide going over the main features of the game, as well as important tasks we believe you should know.

Table of contents

Basics of the game

In Azur Lane, you’ll be spending most of your time on the battlefield.

The main part of the game is to progress through the campaign by completing stages that contain several battles each.

When you enter a stage, you move your fleet around a map of tiles looking for the final battle, which contains a boss.

When you complete the battle that contains a boss, you beat the entire stage.

However, as you’ll have to complete many battles before reaching the boss stage, you need to have a strong fleet that can survive the initial battles and then have enough strength to take down the boss.

In battle, you control three of the ships in your fleet, the so-called vanguard, which are the three ships on the frontline.

You can move these three ships around using the joypad to avoid enemy attacks and position yourself for when you attack the enemy.

Ships will automatically shoot their main gun at enemies nearby, but won’t automatically fire their special attacks.

Not all ships in the vanguard have special attacks. Those that do have a torpedo attack that spreads out from its point of fire.

Almost every ship on the backline, however, has a special attack – either an airstrike or a salvo attack.

Because enemies rarely come close enough to the backline, also known as the main fleet, they don’t often attack using their main gun, the automatic attack.

Instead, most of the damage from the backline comes from their cooldown-based attacks – airstrikes and salvo attacks, which you control.

Even though the main fleet’s primary source of damage is cooldown based attacks, they often do way more damage than your vanguard in battle.

Besides battling on the sea in Azur Lane, a big part of the game is to collect new ships.

There are several ways to do so, including the building system, which is the equivalent of summoning in other gacha games.

You can learn more about how to ships in our guide on how to get more ships in Azur Lane.

Explanation of stats

Compared to other RPG games, there are quite a few different and special stats in Azur Lane.

In most cases, you’ll only see a shortening of these stats when upgrading your ship, etc., so it can be confusing what they actually mean and do.

Therefore, we’ve put together this overview of all stats in Azur Lane, their meaning, and what aspect of battle they affect.

HP, also known as health, is pretty straight forward, it dictates the amount of health a ship has in battle.

Armor Type is the second stat you’ll find under the details page of a ship.

It won’t say armor type, it’ll just tell you which type of armor that ship has such as Light, Medium or Heavy.

The heavier the armor type of a ship, the more defense it has in battle.

RLD, also known as reload, is the fire rate of a ship.

It dictates the rate at which a ship is able to fire its weapon.

The reload stat covers both the automatic main gun and the cooldown-based attack, which means the cooldown of special attacks decreases as a ship’s reload stat increases.

FP, also known as firepower, is the as the name describes the firepower of the ship.

More specifically, this stat determines the damage of artillery skills.

The higher the firepower, the more damage your ship deals with artillery attacks.

TRP, also known as torpedo, like firepower, determines that amount of damage torpedo attacks deal.

The higher the torpedo stat of a ship, the more damage it deals with torpedo attacks.

EVA, also known as evasion, determines how likely a ship is to evade an enemy attack.

The stat isn’t a percentage, so a ship with 55 evasion doesn’t have a 55% chance to evade an enemy attack.

Instead, it’s just used in the calculation that determines whether or not you evade an attack.

The higher the evasion stat, the higher the chance to evade attacks.

AA, also known as anti-air, determines the amount of damage a ship deals with anti-air weapons.

The higher the anti-air stat, the more damage a ship deals with anti-air attacks.

AVI, also known as aviation, determines the amount of damage a ship deals with airstrike attacks.

The higher the aviation stat, the more damage a ship deals with aerial attacks.

Cost, also known as oil cost, is the amount of oil a ship costs to bring to battle.

As oil is a valuable resource in Azur Lane, a lower oil cost is preferable in many situations.

Heavy, powerful ships, which you need later on in the game, have a higher oil cost, so you shouldn’t discard a ship just because it has a high oil cost.

Instead, make a fleet with low oil cost ships you can use for farming.

ASW, also known as anti-submarine warfare, determines the amount of damage a ship deals with anti-submarine attacks.

The higher the anti-submarine warfare stat, the more damage a ship deals with attacks against submarines.

LCK, also known as luck, is a special stat that influences a ship’s chance to hit enemies and deal critical damage to enemies as well as avoid enemy attacks and avoid critical attacks.

ASR, also known as attack/support range, is how far a submarine or support ship can move from its current location.

By pressing this stat in the details page of a ship that has an ASR stat, which not all does, you can see exactly how it can move from its location.

OXY, also known as oxygen, is a stat for submarines that determine how long they can stay underwater before they must resurface.

AMO, also known as ammo, is another stat exclusively for submarines that determines how many a submarine can either attack or support in battle.

Focus on great ships

In Azur Lane, there are more than 250 unique ships you can acquire and put on your fleet.

You won’t have enough resources to upgrade all of these ships if you got your hands on them or just those that you do acquire for that matter.

Therefore, we recommend you focus on great ships that’ll be useful for a long time if not forever.

To give you a better idea of which ships are great for your fleet and are thereby worth investing resources into, we’ve created a best ships tier list.

A ship doesn’t have to be considered S-tier for you to pour resources into it, but it can be a great idea not to spend a lot of resources on a ship that won’t be of much use later on.

Specific resources that you might want to save for really good ships include bulins for limit breaking, retrofit blueprints, and tier 3 gear parts as they can be difficult to farm.

You don’t have to worry about enhancing ships using other common ships as they can be farmed easily.

Follow missions and quests

A great way to make sure you do crucial tasks in the game, which helps you progress through the game and get useful items and rewards, is by completing missions and quests.

You can find all your current missions by pressing the Missions button in the bottom menu on the main screen.

If you’re wondering how to get further in the game, just check the Main tab for missions that take you further in the game.

For great rewards, look at the Side, Daily, Weekly, and Event mission tabs.

You should also take a look at your quests, which are located through the red button in the top menu of the main screen.

Here you’ll find special quests that give you resources, items, and ships.

Most of these quests are different to missions as they ask you to upgrade ships, which will help you increase the power of your fleet.

Azur Lane training quests

Upgrade your ships

After battling for a while and beating stage after stage, you’ll probably find yourself stuck at a particular stage.

When that happens, it’s time to upgrade your ships.

In Azur Lane, there are a bunch of different ways to upgrade your ship, including enhancing, limit breaking, retrofit, and giving them gear.

To learn about all the different ways to upgrade ships in detail, you can read our guide on how to upgrade ships in Azur Lane.

Most upgrades are just fine to do as soon as you can, but limit breaking, for example, shouldn’t be done just because you can, as it increases the oil cost of the ship.

Farm resources

By playing Azur Lane, you’ll quickly figure out that there are a lot of different resources to collect and farm in the game.

You will get a lot of them from simply playing the game, but there are specific methods to get the resources you need at the moment.

To learn how to get every resource in the game, check out our guide on how to get all resources in Azur Lane.

Even though you get a bunch of resources from playing, we still recommend you actively try to farm some of the most valuable resources like oil.

Another thing concerning resources that you should take advantage of is production.

In the Academy located in the HQ, you have both a Canteen and a Merchant, which produce oil and coins, respectively.

Be sure to claim both of these before they reach their maximum capacity as well as upgrade them whenever you can.

Build the ultimate fleet

At the beginning of the game, it doesn’t really matter which ships you bring to battle, and you’ll probably be able to beat most stages anyway.

However, later on, as stages become difficult, and there are a lot of battles before the final boss battle, you need to start building a strong fleet.

All ships belong either to the backline, known as the main fleet, the vanguard, which are the ships you control, or the submarine fleet.

There are different types of ships within each of these positions, all with their own strengths, set of attacks, and playstyles.

The balance between these types is a major factor in the power of your fleet.

Furthermore, some ships simply are better than others at the role they fill, so go for some of the stronger ships if you have those.

We’ve put together an entire guide on the subject of building your fleet as well as actual examples of top tier fleets built by the best players of Azur Lane.

Learn more in our guide on how to build the best fleet in Azur Lane.

Building the perfect fleet in Azur Lane is an everlasting process, with new ships being released occasionally and tweaks happening every so often.

With so many unique ships in the game, there is always something new to try out.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

Even though there may not be a single perfect fleet in Azur Lane, there are a couple of things you should consider when building your ultimate fleet.

In this guide, we cover which things are important about the composition of your fleet in Azur Lane. We’ll also present examples of top-tier fleets built by top players in the game.

Here is a short rundown of all the things you should consider when building your fleet in Azur Lane. First of all, having a variety of ship types will help you create a balanced fleet with damage, defense, and support. Having different ship types will prepare you for all enemies because you’ll be able to bring a variety of weapon types like high single-target damage, AoE, and air damage.

Oil efficiency is a topic often discussed by players of Azur Lane, as the resource is so valuable. Having a fleet consisting of ships with a low oil cost and, thereby, high oil efficiency will help you immensely in terms of progress and farming. Because most of the strongest ships have high oil costs, many players try to bring a balance of high and low oil cost ships.

Lastly, certain ships in Azur Lane simply are better than others in the role they fill. Therefore, we recommend you check out our tier list on the best ships in Azur Lane.

With three high-damage battleships on the backline, each with a salvo attack of their own, you can’t get much more concentrated damage, which is perfect for bosses.

The vanguard features two cruisers and a destroyer, so the fleet does have some AoE damage with the torpedo attack from Yukikaze.

Once again, Yukikaze brings a lot of utility to the rest of the fleet.

Fleet by Rorona

Azur Lane best fleet example Rorona

Main fleet:

  • Essex
  • Monarch
  • Enterprise

Vanguard:

  • Roon
  • Helena
  • San Diego (Retrofit)

A ton of AoE damage is exactly what you’re going to get with this fleet by Rorona that has two incredibly powerful aircraft carriers on the backline.

Any enemy who sends out a bunch of ships at once will have a bad time.

The vanguard of this fleet consists of three cruisers, which means this team has great defenses to sustain the enemy out.

Fleet by Dazilla

Azur Lane best fleet example dazilla

Main fleet:

  • Nagato
  • Warspite (Retrofit)
  • Amagi

Vanguard:

  • Belfast
  • Yukikaze
  • Juneau

Here is a fleet by Dazilla that no boss wants to face because of its arsenal of salvo attacks from the backline consisting of two battleships and one battlecruiser.

To support the backline and the rest of the vanguard, this team brings Yukikaze to battle, a ship with tons of utility. The remaining two ships in the vanguard are both cruisers.

Variety of ship types

There are several different ship types in Azur Lane, all of which impact the stat distribution, weapon slots, and playstyle of the individual ship.

To ensure you have enough damage, defense, and utility in battle, you should aim to build a fleet with a balance of ship types.

You need to have sufficient defenses not to get taken out by burst attacks from the enemy, but you also want to have enough damage so they can’t out sustain you.

Having at least one support ship can significantly improve the rest of your fleet.

In your main fleet, also known as the backline of your fleet, you want to have at least one Battleship or Battlecruiser and one Aircraft Carrier.

Battleships and Battlecruisers both deal incredible damage but to a small area while Aircraft Carriers deal decent damage but to a massive area.

In your Vanguard, you should bring at least one Cruiser and one Destroyer.

Destroyers have high burst damage but are very squishy.

Cruisers, on the other hand, have a lower damage output, but it is much more consistent, and they have higher defenses.

Therefore, you should bring both to have a balanced frontline that is able to burst down powerful foes in need, but also chip away at tanky enemies and withstand their attacks.

Different weapon types

To maximize your chances of defeating your enemies in Azur Lane, you need to bring an array of different weapons.

Having an arsenal of different weapons is almost guaranteed to be achieved by simply having a variety of ships on your fleet, as ship types heavily influence the weapon slots of ships.

The reason why you want to have different weapon types on your fleet is that each of them is superior in different situations.

Let’s look at each of the major attack types and where they rule superior.

When you’re facing enemies that send tons of ships toward you at once, it can be difficult to take them all out in time because they are spread out.

In such a situation, airstrike attacks are extremely useful as they can hit everything with their AoE.

The last battle of each stage features at least one boss, which has a ton of HP.

To take out these bosses before they take out your fleet, you need a lot of damage, which is why salvo attacks from Battleships and Battlecruisers are essential.

Salvo attacks have little area of effect, which means they won’t be much help if the enemy sends tons of ships at once.

However, against a single enemy with a lot of HP, salvo attacks are your best option.

Lastly, torpedo attacks are great at bursting down enemies.

If you quickly move right up to an enemy ship, you can hit them with every single torpedo which is guaranteed to deal a bunch of damage.

If you find yourself in need of AoE damage, move your ship away from the enemy and fire your torpedo.

In this case, your torpedos will split up before reaching the enemy causing them to hit multiple enemies.

Oil efficiency

An oil-efficient fleet is a term used by Azur Lane players to describe a fleet that has a low oil cost.

Having a low-oil-cost team is a major advantage when farming and progressing through the game, as you can play many more battles with the same amount of oil.

Most heavy battleships/cruisers that can be a deciding factor in battle have the highest oil costs in the game, so they often aren’t on oil-efficient teams.

You can quickly find yourself stuck on a specific stage if you are only using an oil-efficient team.

Because of this, we recommend you have a backup high-oil-cost team you can use to take out powerful foes when you’ve farmed enough with your low-oil-cost team.

If you are only looking to build a single fleet, we recommend you try to keep oil costs in mind and balance high and low-oil-cost ships.

We’ve found this to be the optimal way to go about oil efficiency if you’re only looking to create a single team, want to have powerful ships, and don’t want all your oil used up instantly.

With these fleet building tips and examples of great fleets by top players, you are ready to build your own amazing fleet in Azur Lane.

Azur Lane – All HQ Locations Guide https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-all-hq-locations-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-all-hq-locations-guide/#respond Thu, 19 Dec 2019 23:13:30 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=6850 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

There are several things to do in Azur Lane besides battling on the sea.

Many of those things take place in the HQ, which features a bunch of different locations.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

Each location has its own functionality, such as upgrading skills or producing oil.

Therefore, you should take advantage of all these locations to get resources and increase the power of your fleet.

In this guide, we explain what each of the locations in the HQ does, what you can get from them, and how to utilize them.

In short, the HQ is divided into three locations, the Academy, the Dorm, and the Catlodge.

The Dorm is a room where you can place ships to rest and give them supplies, so they passively generate exp.

The Catlodge, also known as the Cattery, is a place where you can assign Meowficcers, earn exp for them, and generate cat boxes.

The Academy is a small town with lots of locations, including the Catlodge.

Two of the most important are the Canteen and the Merchant, which produce oil and coins, respectively.

The Munition is a shop where you can exchange different currencies, including coins, merit, and event tokens for valuable items.

In the Tactical Class, you can train your ships’ skills in exchange for skill books and, of course, time.

The Lecture Hall is a place for ships to gain additional exp and exp bonuses through lessons.

Lastly, the Medallion is a collection of all the medals you’ve collected throughout the game.

You can find more details about each location below.

Table of contents

Canteen

The Canteen is an incredibly important location in the Academy because of its oil production.

Oil is arguably the most important resource in the game, as it is required to play.

Your Canteen automatically produces oil for you at a rate determined by its level.

Furthermore, your Canteen has a maximum capacity, which means it’ll stop producing more oil once it reaches that limit.

Therefore, you should always claim your oil before your Canteen reaches its maximum capacity.

Because the Canteen is so useful, we recommend you upgrade it as soon as possible.

To upgrade your Canteen, you need to be of a certain level and have sufficient coins.

When you have the required coins and are of the required level, open the Canteen and click Upgrade.

Here is a table showing you the maximum capacity, oil production per hour, the cost to upgrade to the next level, upgrade time, and level required to upgrade at each level.

Merchant

The Merchant is another resource producer like the Canteen, but instead of oil, the Merchant produces coins.

The Merchant also has a maximum coin capacity, so you want to collect your coins before it reaches that limit.

You need coins for many purposes in the game, from buying useful items to limit breaking and enhancing ships.

Therefore, we recommend you upgrade the Merchant as soon as possible, just like with the Canteen.

However, if you can only upgrade one of the two, go with the Canteen first and then upgrade the Merchant once you’ve got the resources.

There are many more ways to get coins in the game than oil, so you can just use your oil to farm coins if you need more.

To upgrade your Merchant, open it in the Academy and press upgrade.

Here is a complete table showing you the maximum coin capacity, coin production per hour, the cost to upgrade to the next level, upgrade time, and level required to upgrade at each level.

Dorm

The Dorm is a special room in the HQ where you can place ships to rest, which will make them gain exp passively.

The only thing you have to do in order for them to start gaining exp automatically is to give them supplies.

Because of this, the Dorm is an excellent way to level up your ships that will ensure you are always a bit stronger the next time you play, especially if you’ve been gone for hours.

To assign a ship to your Dorm, press the HQ button on the home screen and Select Dorm.

Once inside, press the Train button on the left side and select an empty slot to assign a ship.

In the beginning, you’ll have two available slots, but you can purchase more with gems.

For ships to start gaining exp, you need to give them supplies which you can do through the Supplies button in the bottom left corner.

There are different ways to get supplies, including buying them outright in exchange for oil.

Besides assigning ships in the Dorm for exp, you can also get affinity for them as you’ll occasionally see a heart icon above a ship, which gives them affinity if you press it.

Lastly, the Dorm is a place for you to design and decorate.

You can purchase tons of different decorations, change walls, add floors, and more.

Azur Lane dorm room screenshot

Tactical class

The Tactical Class is where you can upgrade the skills of your ships.

To access the Tactical Class, head over to the Academy through the HQ button and press the Tactical Class building.

You can assign up to two ships at a time, three if you purchase the third slot with gems.

A ship can only be assigned a single slot in the Tactical Class at a time, meaning you can’t upgrade multiple of the same ship’s skills at a time.

Instead, you can and should assign three different ships, all of which will have one of their skills upgraded.

Upgrading a skill costs skill books and will then take a pre-determined time to finish.

If the selected skill book matches the type of skill you’re upgrading, it’ll get additional exp.

Skill book tierAmount of expTime
11001 hour
23004 hours
38008 hours

Munition

The Munition building located in the Academy is the in-game currency store of Azur Lane.

You can purchase many different kinds of resources and items in this store, including cubes, tech boxes, and ships.

There are always at least two different tabs in the Munition store, merit and general.

Event tabs aren’t always available depending on whether or not current events have an event token you can exchange.

In the general tab, you can purchase items such as tech packs, quick finishers, and cubes in exchange for coins and sometimes gems.

The merit tab is the PvP shop of Azur Lane, here you can exchange merit, the PvP currency, for things like tech boxes and super rare ships.

Event tabs usually have a wide range of items and resources for sale, including oil and ships, in exchange for the given event token.

Cattery

The Cattery, also known as the Catlodge, is a building within the Academy where so-called Meowficcers hang out.

You unlock the Cattery at level 40 and can impact the power of your fleet if you leverage it correctly.

There are many complexities in the Meowficcers system, including different cat stats, talents, and more.

Therefore, we recommend you check out Reddit-user Lawleon’s guide on the Meowficcers system here.

He goes into great detail on how to choose your setup in the Cattery, which rewards to expect, etc.

Lecture Hall

The Lecture Hall is a building in the Academy in which you can transfer excess exp to ships.

Once a ship reaches its maximum level after limit breaking to 6 stars, a portion of the exp it earns gets added to the proficiency bar in the Lecture Hall.

Once the proficiency bar is filled up, you can start a lecture, and all ships assigned to the Lecture Hall in that period of time will gain exp.

A ship cannot be in both the Dorm and the Lecture Hall at the same time, and the amount of exp gained in the Lecture Hall decreases the more ships you assign at a time.

You unlock the Lecture Hall once you reach level 50.

Medallion

The Medallion is the building in the middle of the Academy in Azur Lane.

Here you will find a collection of all the medals in the game, including the ones you’ve earned.

You can check how to get a specific medal by selecting it in the Medallion and checking its requirements.

Most medals have several tiers to them, which you can obtain by completing their original requirements additional times.

That’s all the locations in the HQ of Azur Lane!

Azur Lane – All Ship Types Guide https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-all-ship-types-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-all-ship-types-guide/#respond Mon, 16 Dec 2019 14:48:34 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=6805 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

In Azur Lane, all ships belong to one of 13 classifications, also known as hulls.

The classification of a ship impacts the weapons they can carry, their playstyle, as well as their overall stat distribution.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

You want to have a balance of different types of ships in your fleet to avoid having exclusively one type of attack and defense.

To get the optimal balance of damaging and supportive skills in your fleet, you often need to bring a variety of hulls.

The 13 different ship classifications in Azur Lane are:

  • Light Cruiser (CL)
  • Heavy Cruiser (CA)
  • Large Cruiser (CB)
  • Destroyer (DD)
  • Aircraft Carrier (CV)
  • Light Aircraft Carrier (CVL)
  • Battleship (BB)
  • Aviation Battleship (BBV)
  • Battlecruiser (BC)
  • Repair Ship (AR)
  • Monitor (BM)
  • Submarine (SS)
  • Submarine Seaplane Carrier (SSV)

In this guide, we go over some of the most popular ship classifications, which are the ones most players end up having on their team.

Table of contents

Destroyers

Destroyers are part of the vanguard fleet, which are the three ships you control in battle.

Destroyers have the highest fire rate in the game, but they don’t beat cruiser ships in terms of firepower.

Furthermore, Destoyers have low defenses, so you have to be careful not to be hit by powerful attacks.

Luckily, Destroyers have some of the highest speed stats in the game as well as high evasiveness, which you can use to dodge attacks.

Destroyer ships also pack high-damage torpedo attacks and have low oil costs.

To take full advantage of Destroyers’ playstyle, you should play on manual so you can dodge enemy attacks, quickly move up on enemies, and burst them with a torpedo attack.

All in all, Destroyers are quick, squishy ships with high burst damage suited for maneuvering, dodging, and bursting.

A Destroyer ship definitely worth putting in your vanguard is Yukikaze, who brings incredible utility for the entire team and has great damage as well.

Read more about Yukikaze here.

Azur Lane destroyer torpedo attack

Aircraft Carriers

Aircraft Carriers belong to the backline, also known as the main fleet.

Like any other ship, Aircraft Carriers only attack enemies with their main gun if enemies get too close, which they rarely do.

Instead, most of their damage output comes from powerful cooldown-based attacks in the form of airstrikes.

There are several different types of airstrikes, including Torpedo Bomber Planes and Fighter Planes.

Airstrikes can often be the deciding factor in a battle because of the enormous AoE damage they bring, so consider placing an Aircraft Carrier on your fleet.

Besides the regular Aircraft Carrier, some ships are Light Aircraft Carriers, which are very similar.

The only difference is that Light Aircraft Carriers have less power and one less weapon slot, but do charge up airstrikes faster.

A specific Aircraft Carrier you should consider bringing on your team if you get your hands on her is Enterprise.

Not only does she pack incredible power, her skill perfectly compliments her airstrikes. Read more about Enterprise here.

Azur Lane aircraft carrier airstrike attack

Battleships

Battleships’ salvo attack is shorter than airstrikes from Aircraft Carriers, but have much less AoE.

For the salvo attack to hit multiple enemies, they have to stand very close to each other, almost stacked.

At the beginning of the game, Air Carrier ships will do more damage than Battleships, but as you progress through the game, Battleships scale better than Air Carriers, making them superior in terms of raw power.

As Battleships’ salvo attack has such a small area of effect, but do more damage than airstrike attacks later on in the game, salvo attacks are perfect for taking out bosses with lots of health.

Battleships have very high defenses and will like Aircraft Carriers, attack enemies with their main gun if they get too close.

When you play on auto-mode with a Battleship, their salvo attacks will automatically be aimed perfectly at enemies prioritizing bosses.

However, playing on manual is still better in many cases, as timing is extremely important.

In terms of oil consumption, Battleships are the most costly in the game because they are such powerful and heavy ships.

If you’re looking for a Battleship to go for and put on your fleet, Monarch is a great choice as she brings incredible damage suited for bringing down tough bosses. Read more about Monarch here.

Azur Lane battle ship salvo attack

Submarines

Submarines are a special ship classification compared to the rest as they don’t appear in battle.

Instead, they help your fleet in battle from underwater by automatically firing missiles and skills at enemies.

Most Submarine ships have skills that boost the damage dealt by your entire fleet, which can change the outcome of a battle.

Besides the in-battle support and damage Submarines bring, they also damage enemies when moving around the battle selection map, which helps out in battle as well.

In the submarine section of your fleet, there are only three slots, all of which are reserved for submarines only, so be sure to fill those up whenever you acquire a new submarine.

There are a few special stages in Azur Lane where players can control submarines in battle, but normally you can’t control them at all.

A specific submarine ship we recommend you put on your fleet if you pull her is U-47. She is in our and the vast majority of players’ opinions, the very best submarine in Azur Lane.

Not only does she pack a punch and will contribute greatly to the total damage dealt in a battle, but she also has skills that boost the damage of your other ships.

Read more about U-47 here.

Cruisers

Cruisers are the other primary classification of vanguard ships.

There are several types of cruiser ships – light cruisers, heavy cruisers, and large cruisers.

In general, cruisers have more defense and greater main gun damage than destroyers, but are slower and have less evasion.

Cruisers have a more consistent damage output, as their main damage source doesn’t rely on a cooldown based skill like destroyers.

Within the cruiser category, light cruisers are the fastest with the highest evasion but have the lowest defense and damage.

On the other hand, large cruisers are the slowest with the lowest evasion but have the highest defense and damage.

To avoid having only burst damage and low defenses, we recommend you bring a mix of cruisers and destroyers.

One of the best cruiser ships in the game is Roon, a heavy cruiser with great damage output and defenses.

Read more about Roon here.

That’s all the most-used ship classifications in Azur Lane, as well as their main features.

There are lots of different resources to collect in Azur Lane, all of which are useful for some purposes.

As some resources are more important than others for progress, many players specifically farm those besides their regular grind.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

By playing and progressing through the game, you’ll get a lot of resources, but there are specific ways to get more of certain resources that you should take advantage of.

In this guide, we teach you how to get all resources in the game, as well as what they’re used for.

The most common resources which you’ll get from several sources through regular gameplay are coins, wisdom cubes, tech packs, blueprints, oil, gear parts, tech packs, and quick finishers.

Other resources like gems are much harder to obtain and not something that’ll just fall into your hands through regular gameplay.

We’ve made the following table, which shows how to get all resources in Azur Lane.

How to get gems

The premium currency in Azur Lane is gems.

You can buy extremely valuable items with gems, including extra dock capacity, dorm slots, and rings.

We’ve made an entire guide on what to spend gems on so you can get the most out of your gems.

There are only a few ways to get gems in Azur Lane besides purchasing them directly.

The main way to get gems in the game is by completing missions that give them as a reward.

Specifically, missions that ask you to acquire 3 stars on a particular stage are the ones that give gems.

To get 3 stars on most stages, you need to complete them multiple times, which many players don’t do at the beginning, making them miss out on some sweet gems.

You can see your current mission by pressing the Missions button on the home screen.

Azur Lane gems from missions

From time to time, you’ll get a commission that gives gems as a reward, but they are rare.

Commissions are quests that you assign ships to, and they’ll complete it for you in a given amount of time.

You can find your commissions in the stage selection screen by pressing the Commission button in the bottom menu.

The last way to get gems without paying is by collecting Bands in the Memento.

You can access the Memento by pressing the Memento button in the right-side menu on the home screen.

Here you can collect Bands, which are collections of specific ships and claim rewards for doing so. Many of the rewards for collecting Bands are gems.

How to get oil

Oil is arguably the single most important resource in Azur Lane.

You need oil to start battles, so if you don’t have any, you can’t play the game.

Luckily, there are several different ways to get your hands on some more oil.

The Canteen in the Academy is where you’ll be passively producing oil, so be sure to upgrade it whenever you can.

You should always collect the oil from your Canteen before it reaches its max capacity so you don’t miss out on potential oil production.

Several missions give oil as a reward, including daily missions, which are all easy to complete.

We recommend you always do your dailies to get oil.

As oil is a common resource in Azur Lane, you can also get it from commissions, login events, and level-up events, and retiring ships.

Azur Lane oil rewards missions

Another way to get oil fast in the game is by taking advantage of current events.

Oil is almost always included in event rewards and the event shop.

You can find the current events on the home screen right above the Battle button or by pressing the Exchange button on the home screen as well.

The event shop is located under the Event tab in the Munition. Here you can exchange event currency for all sorts of items and resources, including oil.

How to get wisdom cubes

The main way to get new ships in Azur Lane is by building them, which costs wisdom cubes.

Because of this, wisdom cubes are sought after as getting new ships is not only fun and has the potential to replace a current ship, but also increases the power of your current fleet through enhancing and limit breaks.

You can learn more about wisdom cubes and how to get ships in general in our guide on how to get ships in Azur Lane.

To farm wisdom cubes, you should complete all your daily missions as most of them give cubes as a reward.

There are many other missions, including main- and side story missions that also give wisdom cubes.

Be sure to look for deals in the general tab of the Munitions store, as they occasionally have wisdom cubes for sale in exchange for coins.

In many of the commissions you’ll get, there is a chance to get wisdom cubes, as indicated by the ‘May Find’ text.

Both login events and level-up events give lots of wisdom cubes.

On day 26 in the monthly login event, for example, you get 12 wisdom cubes.

The level-up event also gives more cubes the higher level you get, so get grinding!

How to get quick finishers

When you build a ship in Azur Lane, you have to wait for it to finish before you can launch it, also known as summoning it.

Because most players don’t want to wait the time it takes to build a ship, which is usually 2-4 hours, they use quick finishers instead.

A quick finisher is an item that finishes the building of a ship instantly.

You can get quick finishers in Azur Lane by completing missions, commissions, and claiming rewards from level-up and login events.

Your main source of quick finishers is going to be missions.

Weekly and daily missions are the missions that most often have quick finishers as a reward.

The number of quick finishers you get from login- and level-up events are usually equal to the number of cubes you get.

From regular gameplay you get more cubes than quick finishers, so be sure to claim all quick finishers from the login- and level-up events as you’ll need those quick finishers later on.

How to get tech boxes

Collecting and opening tech packs, also known as tech boxes, is the primary way to obtain gear in Azur Lane.

Gear significantly increases the damage output of ships in the game, which is why you should farm tech packs.

You can read more about how to get gear, enhance it, and more in our gear guide.

The easiest way to get gear packs in Azur Lane is by purchasing them with coins in the General tab of the Munitions store.

Here, you can buy many different kinds of tech boxes, some of which are at a discount.

If you see a great discount on tech packs, you should buy it as it’ll be very much worth your coins.

Tech boxes are also sold in the Merit, Core, and often the Event tab of the Munitions store, but those currencies are harder to obtain than coins.

The Munitions store refreshes daily, so you always have tech packs to purchase.

Azur Lane tech packs boxes in shop

You can also get tech boxes through other means, such as daily training, missions, and level-up missions.

Tech packs are often included in the selection of items you can exchange for medals in the Exchange tab of the Build section as well.

It is, however, better to save medals for powerful ships in most cases.

Lastly, tech packs are part of the loot pool of battles, which means you can farm tech boxes by completing battles in the game.

How to get skill books

In the Tactical Class of the Academy, you can upgrade ships’ skills by spending skill books.

There are several different tiers and types of skill books in Azur Lane.

The higher the tier of the skill book the more exp it gives a skill. Furthermore, if a skill book matches the type of skill you’re upgrading, it’ll give additional exp.

There are plenty of skill books to be earned in the daily training missions, which you can find through the Daily button in the bottom menu when browsing stages.

Skills books are also often for sale in the General tab of the Munitions shop.

Another great source of skill books in Azur Lane is stage rewards.

These are rewards that you get from completing certain stages. You always get a skill book and a piece of gear from stage rewards.

You can find and claim stage rewards by clicking the Exchange button on the home screen and going to the Stage Reward tab.

Skill books can also be obtained by completing missions and commissions.

How to get coins

The in-game currency of Azur Lane is coins, which are required to carry out many actions like limit breaking and building ships.

Coins can, of course, also be spent to purchase useful items and resources, all of which makes coins worthwhile to collect.

Similar to oil production, you can passively produce coins with the Merchant building in the Academy.

Whenever you can, you should upgrade the Merchant to increase its coin production.

The Merchant building has a maximum coin capacity, so be sure to collect your coins before the Merchant reaches this number of coins produced.

As coins are used for so many things in the game, you’ll get it from almost every aspect of the game, including battles, missions, commissions, daily training, and log in- and level-up events.

If you quickly need some coins and don’t have time to farm them, you can get coins by disassembling gear and retiring ships.

How to get blueprints

You can further increase the power and stats of some ships by utilizing the retrofit system.

Retrofit is a series of upgrades to a ship, which costs retrofit blueprints to unlock.

You can only unlock an upgrade once any upgrade next to it in the system has been unlocked. Therefore, you need a lot of blueprints to get the later upgrades, which usually are the best.

The main way to get retrofit blueprints is by completing battles on hard mode.

You can do battles on hard mode in a specific chapter once you’ve collected 3 stars on each of the stages in that chapter.

As retrofit blueprints drop from hard battles, you can easily farm them by doing battles over and over.

Besides hard mode battles, you can get blueprints by completing missions, commissions, and daily training.

Some events give blueprints as a reward or feature them in the event shop, but not all.

The last two ways to get blueprints in the game is through login event rewards and the medal item exchange inside the Build section.

How to get gear parts

Enhancing gear is a great way to improve the power of your fleet in Azur Lane.

To enhance gear, you need gear parts of the same type as the piece of gear you wish to enhance.

The two main ways to obtain gear parts in the game are from rewards from battles and by disassembling gear.

You can disassemble gear by opening the gear tab in your depot and clicking Disassemble in the bottom menu.

You can also get gear parts from the medal exchange, General tab in the Munitions shop, events, and missions.

How to get decor tokens

In some places in Azur Lane, like your Dorm, you can change the appearance of your room by purchasing decorations.

You can change almost anything with decorations from adding new wallpaper to a big cake to place on the floor.

All decorations in the game can be purchased with decor tokens.

Decor tokens are a scarce resource because there aren’t many ways to obtain them.

The only two ways to get decor tokens in Azur Lane besides buying them through gem packs is by completing missions and commissions related to your Dorm, etc.

You’ll probably not get more than one mission a day that gives decor tokens, but most commissions give decor tokens, so start some of those if you need to decorate your rooms.

How to get cognitive chips

When a ship reaches its max level after limit breaking to its maximum rank, you can increase its level cap even further with cognitive chips.

Because of this, cognitive chips are extremely valuable, but not something you will need in the beginning when your ships are nowhere near their maximum level.

The main way to get cognitive chips in Azur Lane is through tactical daily training, which you unlock at level 60.

You do also get some cognitive chips from login-events, so just save those until you can use them.

Azur Lane tactical daily training

How to get supplies

An excellent way to train ships in Azur Lane, even when you aren’t playing the game, is by placing them in the Dorm room.

For ships in the Dorm room to get exp, you need to give them supplies, which will last for a set amount of time.

The easiest way to get more supplies in Azur Lane is simply by purchasing them.

To purchase more supplies, open up the Supplies menu in your Dorm, and tab a supply you’ve run out of.

All rare supplies can be purchased with oil and more powerful supplies with gems.

You can also get supplies from completing missions certain missions, but most don’t give supplies as a reward.

Events do also often feature supplies as a reward or as something you can purchase in the event shop, so check out current events.

How to get medals

Medals are a valuable resource that can be exchanged for items and powerful ships.

You don’t get many medals through regular gameplay, only through some missions.

Instead, the primary way and only other way to get medals in Azur Lane is by retiring ships.

Retiring a ship is the process of deleting a ship in exchange for resources, including medals.

To retire a ship, press the Build button on the home screen and go to the Retire tab.

Here you can select ships you wish to retire and see which rewards you’ll get from retiring the selected ships.

The number of medals you get from retiring a ship depends on its rarity.

How to get merit

The PvP system in Azur Lane, where you can fight other players, is known as exercise.

The reward for participating in exercises is merit.

The Munitions shop in the Academy has an entire tab that only sells items and ships in exchange for merit.

Some of these ships are extremely powerful and of SR rarity.

Therefore, farming merit is a great idea if you’re looking to improve your fleet.

Besides getting merit from exercises, you can also get it from certain missions related to the PvP system.

That’s how to get every single resource in Azur Lane!

Getting new ships and assembling the ultimate fleet in Azur Lane is a significant part of the game, and a thrilling experience when pulling new ships.

Unlike many other similar RPG gacha titles, you can get a lot of ships in Azur Lane by just playing the game, so there’s always a new fleet formation to try out.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

There are more than 250 unique ships in the game, so you’ll need to take advantage of all the ways to get new ships if you want to collect them all.

In this guide, we’ll go over every single way to get new ships in Azur Lane.

Here is a quick rundown of the different ways to get ships in Azur Lane.

Building ships is going to be your main source of new ships in the game.

You can build ships by spending cubes and coins.

By completing stages in the campaign, you can get your hands on some decent ships quite quickly.

The farther into the campaign you get, the better the ships from stage rewards.

Completing missions can give you ships as well; some have a chance to do so, others are guaranteed to give ships.

Most events that run in Azur Lane include ships as a reward in some way, so always check out the current events.

Under the exchange tab in Build, you can exchange medals for specific ships.

More details on all of these methods on how to get ships below.

Table of contents

Building ships

The primary way to get new ships in Azur Lane is by using the build feature.

Building a ship is the equivalent to summoning in other gacha games, as the ship you build is a random pull.

In Azur Lane, however, you have to wait for the ship to be built before you actually pull it, which usually takes around 2-4 hours.

To instantly finish the building of a ship, you can use a quick finisher.

Building the ship itself costs wisdom cubes and coins.

A light ship costs 600 coins and 1 wisdom cube to build, whilst a heavy or special ship costs 1500 coins and 2 wisdom cubes.

All the materials required to build ships, including the quick finisher, can be obtained through beating stages, completing quests, etc.

To build a ship in Azur Lane, go to the home screen and press the Build button in the bottom menu.

Here you can select between the different types of builds and see the cost of each one.

When you build a ship, your order is automatically sent to the Orders tab right below the Build tab.

In the Orders tab, you can see how many ships are being built, as well as how long is left until they’re finished.

To instantly build a ship, click the Finish button on the order you wish to speed up.

Here is an overview of the summon rates of all the build types in Azur Lane.

Rewards from stages

Completing stages in the campaign is another great way to get more ships, and the only cost is the oil you need to spend on starting the battles.

Most battles in the game, have a chance to dropships as a reward.

In the beginning, you’ll mostly get common ships, but as you progress further into the campaign, battles will start dropping ships of higher rarity.

Because you can get ships from beating battles in Azur Lane, you can easily farm a lot of ships as long as you have the oil.

Farming common ships is a great way to upgrade the stats of another ship through enhancing, so farm those battles.

You can see if a specific battle has a chance to give a ship as a reward before you start the battle.

Here you can also see the rarity of the potential ship.

The ship you get from a particular battle is random but based on a pool of ships.

Missions

A common reward in the main, side, and sometimes weekly missions are ships.

Most missions are fairly straightforward to complete and compliment your current gameplay and progress in the campaign.

Therefore, you should always look out for missions you can do, as their rewards are extremely valuable.

Most of the missions that give ships ask you to obtain 3 stars in specific stages, which requires you to play them multiple times.

So if you don’t look at your missions and go back to complete them, you’ll miss out on ships.

The further into the game you get, the higher the rarity ship missions give.

You get an elite ship for just clearing stage 3-4, for example.

Azur Lane ships from missions

Besides giving regular ships, missions also give Bulins, which you need at some point for limit breaking.

You won’t necessarily need these on your fleet, but collecting them for later is always nice.

You can find all your current missions by pressing the Missions button in the bottom menu on the home screen.

We, of course, recommend you complete all your missions, but if you’re just looking for ships, main, side, and weekly missions are where you’ll find them.

Events

The team behind Azur Land is great at putting out new events, so players always have something fresh to do.

In these events, you can almost always get ships as a reward for your efforts.

Usually, events come with a special time-limited event currency which you can get by completing event quests.

Along with the event currency, they also release an event shop where you can exchange your event currency for valuable resources and ships.

As events constantly change, we can’t give you specific instructions on how to get ships from a particular event that is running at the time of your reading, but they usually include a reward system as described above.

Sometimes, like in the Christmas event, you can also get a special event box after completing enough event tasks, which contains useful items, including ships.

Login events are another great way to get some more ships with very little effort.

At the start of your journey, there’ll be multiple login events, all of which give ships of high rarity at some point.

After the initial week or so of being a new player, the only login event is the monthly login event, which also does give some ships, including elite and super rare Bulins.

By leveling up your character, you can get Bulins and wisdom cubes, which you can use to build ships by claiming level-up rewards in the events tab.

You get level-up rewards at levels 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.

Besides Bulins and cubes, you also get tech packs, quick finishers, oil, and gold from these rewards.

You can find the current events right above the Battle button on the home screen or by pressing the Exchange button on the main screen.

If there is an event shop at the moment, you can find it under the Event tab in the Munition shop.

Login events and level-up events can both be found by pressing the Exchange button on the main screen.

Here you’ll also find any other rewards program running at the time.

Exchange medals

If you’re looking for a specific ship, then exchanging medals for ships might be what you’re looking for.

Every single day, you’ll be presented with a new selection of 6 unique ships, which you can buy in exchange for medals.

Most ships you can purchase with medals are rare and common, but there is also the occasional elite ship in your daily selection, as well as Bulins.

However, besides the 6 daily ships, there is always a super rare ship for sale, in exchange for a lot more medals, of course.

The super rare ship is there for 14 days before changing to another super rare ship.

If you have the 80 medals required to purchase the SR ship, we recommend you do so.

You can get medals of honor through different methods, but the primary way to get them is by retiring ships.

The number of medals you get from retiring a ship depends on the rarity, level, and tier of the ship.

To exchange medals for a ship, press the Build button on the home screen and go to the Exchange tab.

Here you can click on the specific ship you wish to purchase or press the Exchange button in the bottom right corner to buy the SR ship.

Munitions merit shop

The last way to get new ships in Azur Lane is through the Munitions merit shop.

You can access this shop by going to the Academy through the HQ button and then selecting the Munition.

In the Munition are different shops, including the Merit shop where you can exchange merit for goods.

Most of the goods you can buy in this shop are tech packs, but it does also sell some ships, some of which are SR.

SR ships and SR bulins are expensive, but especially the SR ships are very much worth the merit.

You get merit from participating in PvP battles, known as exercises.

There are also missions related to exercises that give merit as well.

The merit shop refreshes daily, but you can refresh it yourself if you want to.

Azur Lane munitions merit shop

That’s all the ways to get ships in Azur Lane!

You are now ready to fill up your fleet with great ships or build a new one.

Azur Lane – Gear Guide – How To Get, Craft & Enhance Gear https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-gear-guide-how-to-get-craft-enhance-gear/ https://gamerempire.net/azur-lane-gear-guide-how-to-get-craft-enhance-gear/#respond Tue, 10 Dec 2019 19:46:53 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=6489 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

Getting a new powerful piece of gear in Azur Lane can make a significant difference in the damage output of a ship.

Gear can be categorized into two overall groups, weapons, and auxiliary.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

Each ship has its set of equipment slots, meaning a specific ship can only equip a specific set of weapon types.

You can see which type of gear a ship can wear under the gear section of a ship’s details page.

All ships can equip pieces of auxiliary gear besides their weapons.

To further improve gear, you can enhance it by spending parts and coins.

In this guide, we’ll teach you how to craft, get, destroy, and enhance gear, as well as which types of gear, exist in the game.

Here is a short rundown of how to get, craft, enhance, and destroy gear in Azur Lane.

You can get new gear in the game by opening tech packs, which you can acquire by playing the game, completing missions, etc.

By collecting blueprints for a specific type of weapon, you can craft a piece of gear directly.

Depending on the rarity of the weapon, you need between 5 and 50 pieces of blueprint to craft the piece of gear.

Gear can be enhanced under the details page of the ship wearing the specific piece of gear by spending parts and coins.

You can destroy gear in Azur Lane by selecting the piece of gear you want to get rid of inside the Depot and pressing Disassemble.

More details on all of these methods below.

Table of contents

How to get gear

The main way to get new gear in Azur Lane is by opening tech packs, also known as tech boxes.

Tech packs contain a random piece of gear.

There are five different tiers of tech boxes, all of which have a set probability of giving gear of a certain rarity.

Here is an overview of what rarity gear you can get from each tech pack:

  • Tier 1 gear packs contain common gear
  • Tier 2 gear packs have a low chance to contain rare gear and a high chance to contain common gear
  • Tier 3 gear packs have a low chance to contain elite gear and a high chance to contain rare gear
  • Tier 4 gear packs have a low chance to contain super rare gear and a high chance to contain elite gear
  • Tier 5 gear packs contain super rare gear

There is also a special tech pack called the Submarine Tech Pack, which contains submarine gear.

Submarine tech packs have a low chance to contain rare gear and a high chance of containing common gear.

Besides rarity, the gear also has a tier shown by its number of stars.

So, for example, you could have a purple Twin 203mm Main Gun with four stars, which would mean it is an elite tier 4 weapon.

You can upgrade the tier of a tech pack by combining 5 copies of the same pack.

Combining 5 tier 2 tech packs will give you a single tier 3 tech pack, for example.

To raise the tier of a tech pack, select it in your Depot and press Craft.

The Craft button will only appear if you have enough copies of the selected tech pack to upgrade it.

There are several ways to get tech boxes in Azur Lane, most of which simply require you to play the game.

Completing stages, doing commissions, and completing quests all have a chance to give tech packs as a reward.

You can also purchase tech packs from the daily Munition shop in the Academy.

How to craft gear

Another way to get gear in Azur Lane is by crafting it, also known as designing earlier on and in other versions of the game.

You won’t get new gear nearly as fast through this method, but you can certainly get some powerful items once you collect enough blueprints.

To craft gear through this method, you need to collect blueprints.

You get blueprints from gameplay, including completing stages and certain missions.

To see what the blueprints you currently have, for which weapons, and in what quantity, go to your Depot and select the Craft tab in the bottom menu.

All the weapons you find in this category are weapons you have at least one piece of blueprint for.

Right next to the weapon’s name, you can see how many blueprints you have for it and how many you need to craft the piece of gear.

Crafting isn’t the fastest way to get new gear in Azur Lane.

We didn’t have enough blueprints of the same gear to craft it before playing the game for more than two weeks.

So, if you’re looking to get your hands on some new gear now, go with the first method for now.

Tech packs will give you far more gear faster.

You can, however, get some really powerful weapons through crafting, so don’t ignore a quest or commission if it gives blueprints, especially if it is of elite or better rarity.

Azur Lane crafting gear

How to enhance gear

You can further increase the stat boosts and buffs a piece of gear gives a ship by enhancing it.

Enhancing gear costs parts and coins.

The parts used for enhancing has to correspond with the type of gear you want to enhance.

The more times a piece of gear has been enhanced, the more parts and coins it’ll cost to enhance it once more.

Like many other resources in the game, you get parts by completing stages, doing missions, completing quests, etc.

Enhancing your gear is a great way to improve the power of your fleet quickly, as it increases not only the damage output but also the rate at which ships reload their weapon.

To enhance gear in Azur Lane, open the details page of the ship wearing the piece of gear you wish to enhance and select the Gear tap.

Tap the piece of gear you want to enhance and press Enhance in the bottom menu.

Here you can see which materials, including the type of part you need to enhance that gear as well as the quantity and coins cost.

If you have the required materials, press Enhance to enhance the piece of gear.

We recommend you not focus entirely on a single piece of gear when enhancing, as the cost increases rapidly.

Instead, it’s much more cost-efficient to spread out your enhancements on all your fleets’ gear.

By doing this, you’ll get a lot more damage at the same cost of materials than had you spent everything on just one piece of gear.

How to destroy gear

You get a lot of gear from tech packs over time, so chances are you’ll find yourself with no more capacity in your gear depot.

Luckily, you can get rid of unwanted gear in Azur Lane by destroying it.

Besides clearing up space in your depot, destroying gear gives you coins and gun parts if the part is of high enough quality.

The number of coins and parts you get from destroying a piece of gear depends on its rarity, tier, and enhancements made to it, if any.

To destroy gear in Azur Lane, open up your Depot and go to the Gear tab.

In the bottom menu, you’ll find a button that says Disassemble.

This button will bring out all your unequipped gear, sorted by rarity from lowest to highest.

You can select up to 40 pieces of gear at a time that you want to destroy.

When you have selected the ones you want to get rid of, press the Disassemble button in the bottom right corner.

Alternatively, if there is just a single piece of gear you want to destroy, you can select in your Depot and press Disassemble to destroy it directly.

Gear and weapon types

There are many different types of weapons in Azur Lane.

Each ship has its own set of equipment slots, which means a specific ship can only equip specific types of weapons.

For example, Enterprise can only equip one Fighter weapon, one Diver Bomber weapon, and one Torpedo Bomber weapon.

You can see what weapon types a ship can equip under its details page.

All ships, including Enterprise, can also wear two pieces of Auxiliary gear.

Here is an overview of all weapon types in Azur Lane:

  • Anti-Air guns
  • Battleship guns
  • Destroyer guns
  • Dive Bomber planes
  • Fighter planes
  • Heavy Cruiser guns
  • Large cruiser guns
  • Light cruiser guns
  • Seaplanes
  • Submarine torpedoes
  • Torpedo bomber planes

Besides all these weapon types, gear can also be Auxiliary equipment, Anti-Submarine Equipment, or Ship Torpedoes.

Though ships have to use their pre-determined set of gear slots, there is a difference between weapons in the same category.

You should, therefore, try out different weapons within the same category as some works better for specific ships.

To get a general idea of which weapons to go for here is a useful gear tier list-type graphic created by Baburubaburu, a popular Azur Lane livestreamer.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get, craft, enhance, and destroy gear in Azur Lane.

How To Delete Ships – Azur Lane https://gamerempire.net/how-to-delete-ships-azur-lane/ https://gamerempire.net/how-to-delete-ships-azur-lane/#respond Mon, 09 Dec 2019 15:55:32 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=6447 This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission from qualifying purchases and registrations made through our site.

In Azur Lane, you get a lot of ships just from playing the game.

Stages, events, and missions are just some of the things that give you new ships all the time.

Play Azur Lane on PC button

Because of the number of ships you get, the default 150 slots in your dock doesn’t feel like much, and you’ll probably find yourself with a filled up dock quite quickly, especially because you have to keep copies, Bulins, and Purins for upgrades.

Therefore, we’re making this guide to teach you how to delete ships in Azur Lane.

There are three different ways to delete ships in Azur Lane.

The first is by retiring ships, which can be done under the Retire tab inside Build.

The second way to delete ships is by using them as materials when enhancing another ship.

The third way is by using them as materials when limit breaking another ship.

Let’s take a closer look at each method to see the benefits of each method, to give you an idea of when you should use which method.

Table of contents

Retire ships

You can delete any ship in the game by using the retire-feature, as long as the ship isn’t currently assigned as a secretary and is unlocked.

You can see whether or not a ship is locked by going to your dock and looking at a ship’s icon.

If it has a lock symbol right below its level, the ship is locked.

To unlock a ship, select it, and tap Unlock in the bottom menu.

To retire a ship, go to the home screen, press the Build button in the bottom menu, and go to the Retire tab.

Here you’ll find all your ships that aren’t locked and aren’t a secretary.

You can select up to 10 ships that you want to retire at a time by clicking them.

Retiring ships give you coins, oil, and medals depending on the level and rarity of the ship.

You can see exactly what rewards you’ll get from retiring the selected ships at the bottom of the screen.

Before you retire ships because you don’t have any space, you should consider whether or not you need a specific ship as fodder for upgrades.

In most cases, it’s better to use a ship to enhance or limit break another ship, rather than retiring it.

However, if you don’t have any other use for a ship, or need medals, etc., go ahead and retire it.

If you find yourself in a situation where you can’t retire ships because you need them for later upgrades, but still have no more slots in your dock, consider buying more dock capacity.

You can learn more about buying more dock capacity in our guide on how to spend your gems.

Azur Lane retire ships

Enhance ships

Enhancing ships is one of the many ways you can upgrade the power of your fleet.

To enhance a ship, you need to sacrifice ships.

This makes enhancing ships one of the three ways to delete ships in Azur Lane.

Enhancing ships not only gest rid of ships and thereby clears up your dock capacity but also boosts the stats of the ship you are enhancing.

Therefore, we generally believe you should enhance other ships instead of retiring if you wish to get rid of ships.

Unless you, of course, need the resources you get from retiring ships.

You can learn more about enhancing ships and the benefits of it here.

When you’re ready to delete ships by enhancing, open up your dock and select the ship you wish to enhance.

Go to the Enhance tab in the left-side menu and press the empty slots under Materials on the right side of the screen.

Here you can select the ships you wish to delete in exchange for exp toward stat boosts for the selected ship.

After selecting the ships you wish to delete, you can see the effect your sacrifice will have on the selected ship’s stats.

For example, in the image below, my Repulse will level up its FP and RLD stat once based on the selected materials and the exp they give.

If you’re happy with your selection, press Enhance in the bottom right corner.

Azur Lane enhance ship

Limit break ships

The final way to delete ships in Azur Lane is by, like with enhancing, using ships as material for limit breaking.

Limit breaking is another way to upgrade a ship, which increases the star level of the ship, its stats, as well as its maximum level.

Limit breaking is not as effective a way to delete ships as others, as you can only use copies of the same ship, Bulins, or Purins as materials.

Furthermore, we recommend you don’t limit break as soon as you get the materials for it, as it increases the oil cost of the ship you limit break.

At some point, however, you do want to limit break a ship, in which case it’s the perfect opportunity to get rid of Bulins and Purins as their very purpose is to be used as fodder for limit breaking.

You can read more about when to limit break and upgrading in general in our guide on how to upgrade ships.

Like when enhancing ships, you can limit break a ship by selecting it in your dock and going to the Limit Break tap in the left-side menu.

Under the stats section, you can select the materials – ships you want to use as fodder.

Limit breaking a ship also costs coins.

When you’re satisfied with your choice, click the Confirm button in the bottom right corner to limit break the selected ship.

That’s all you need to know about how to delete ships in Azur Lane.

If you have any input or suggestions for this post that you believe other readers should know, you can leave it in the comment section below.
