In this article, let’s take a look at some best Gunner builds in Deep Rock Galactic!

We’ll cover all Gunner weapons and 4 strong builds, including a fire damage build that can instantly smelt the rival tech robots, a single-target build so you can eliminate those big bosses faster, a crowd control build with slow effect and great damage over time, and a general build with two clean overclocks.

Table of Contents

Gunner Playstyle

Gunner is well-known for his powerful weapons and grenades.

Most Gunner weapons are relatively easy to use with a single click or hold-to-shot mechanic, except for the Hurricane, since you can guide the bullets manually.

In addition, all Gunner secondary weapons are pistols, each with unique features. For example, the Bulldog has decent damage with a steady-fire mechanic, the BRT7 has the highest rate of fire, and the ArmsKore has a charge shot with strong penetration bullets.

Gunner’s primary weapon:

  • “Lead Storm” Powered Minigun
  • “Thunderhead” Heavy Autocannon
  • “Hurricane” Guided Rocket System

Gunner’s secondary weapon:

  • “Bulldog” Heavy Revolver
  • BRT7 Burst Fire Gun
  • ArmsKore Coil Gun

Besides the strong firearms, Gunner has his own unique traversal and support tool, the Zipline Launcher and the Shield Generator.

Like the Scout’s Grappling Hook or the Engineer’s Platform Gun, Gunner’s Zipline Launcher allows the whole team travels a long distance with a decent steep degree. However, the Zipline Launcher is the worst traversal tool because of its slow speed compared to the other classes.

In contrast, the Shield Generator is the best support tool for fighting dangerous waves of bugs, reviving teammates, or defense missions.

The best Gunner is the one who uses the Shield Generator at the right time. This includes when the Drilldozer starts moving in the Escort Duty mission or uplinking and refueling the drop pod in the Salvage Operation mission.

What Overclocks to Use for Gunner

Gunner weapons are already unique and powerful enough, so there aren’t many game-changing overclocks to pick from. If you don’t want negative effects on your guns, clean overclocks are the way to go.

However, here are our suggested five overclocks to use for the Gunner.

1. “Lead Storm” Powered Minigun – Burning Hell

Burning Hell is a great balanced overclock with only one downside, making your minigun overheat 50% faster.

When equipped, it burns any enemy within 5 meters of the minigun, dealing 5 fire damage and 20 heat damage every 0.25 seconds.

This perk alone is not worth it. However, the damage is massive when combined with the Bulldog overclock below! That’s why Burning Hell is the top one on the list.

2. “Bulldog” Heavy Revolver – Volatile Bullets

Volatile Bullets allows you to deal 300% bonus damage to burning enemies. Combined with the Burning Hell overclock above, you can deal up to 210 damage per shot.

This overclock reduces the damage by 10. But you can pick damage modifications to bring the weapon damage to 70 per shot.

3. “Thunderhead” Heavy Autocannon – Neurotoxin Payload

The Thunderhead is suitable for both close and long-range fighting. It also deals area damage, which is perfect for fighting Glyphid Swarmers. So to buff it even more, Neurotoxin Payload is a go-to overclock.

It increases the weapon damage area by 0.6 meters and allows you to deal 12 poison damage every 0.75-1.25 seconds for 10 seconds. In contrast, you sacrifice 2 damage and 5 area damage.

4. “Hurricane” Guided Rocket System – Salvo Module

Hurricane is a heavy weapon, but you can shoot like a shotgun with Salvo Module overclock.

You can load up to 9 missiles into the next shot by holding the fire button. For each missile added, all of the missiles in the next shot will deal 0.375 more damage and area damage. The min damage is 1, and the max damage is 4.

5. ArmsKore Coil Gun – The Mole

The Mole is one of the most special overclocks in DRG because of its terrain-based damage boost.

For each terrain the bullet penetrates through, the bullet will deal 150 bonus damage. This is a considerable boost suitable for fighting giant bugs and Glyphid Dreadnoughts.

What Perks to Use for Gunner

Here are some excellent perks for the Gunner class in Deep Rock Galactic.

1. Dash

Since the Gunner has no fast travel method (unless you drop down to the zipline), Dash is a crucial perk that can save you from dangerous situations.

You move 2.2 times faster and ignore every slow effect for 1.5 seconds. At max level, this perk has a cooldown of 25 seconds.

2. Field Medic

Field Medic is an excellent perk for every class in DRG.

With a 30% faster revive speed, this perk synergizes well with the Shield Generator. You can save everyone within a single use of the shield, including a one-time instant revives provided by the perk.

3. Resupplier

Gunner needs a lot of ammo. That’s why a 50% buff to the supply collecting speed can save your life.

In addition, Resupplier also provides extra 25% health at the max tier when you collect a supply pod.

4. Born Ready

If you’re a fan of the Thunderhead or the Hurricane, Born Ready is the perfect perk since it can automatically reload all your unequipped weapons after 5 seconds.

This is pretty useful when fighting big waves of bugs. Switch to the secondary weapon when you’re out of ammo and try to survive for 5 seconds.

5. Veteran Depositor

With Veteran Depositor, you deposit 20-50% faster and have a 20-30% damage reduction buff as long as you stay within 7 meters around the MULE, the Mine Head, or the Drop Pod.

Combined with the Shield Generator, your whole team can easily survive defense objectives in high-hazard missions.

Besides the five perks above, Iron Will, See You In Hell, Deep Pockets, and Elemental Insulation are good perks for Gunner. So, feel free to try different perks and see what fits you the best.

4 Best Gunner Builds & Weapon Loadouts

Here are the four best builds for the Gunner in Deep Rock Galactic.

Gunner Best Build #1: Burning Hell

As mentioned above, the Burning Hell building uses the fire combination from the minigun and the bulldog revolver to deal massive damage to bugs and rival robots.

Besides fire damage from the minigun, you can use the incendiary grenades, overheat your minigun, or rely on other dwarves for the damage boost.

Primary Weapon: “Lead Storm” Powered Minigun

  • Overclock: Burning Hell
    • Burn enemies in front of the gun
    • +150% Heat Generation
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Improved Platform Stability
    • 1 – Oversized Drum
    • 3 – Blowthrough Rounds
    • 2 – Lighter Barrel Assembly
    • 1 – Aggressive Venting

Secondary Weapon: “Bulldog” Heavy Revolver

  • Overclock: Volatile Bullets
    • +300% Damage to burning enemy
    • -10 Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Quickfire Ejector
    • 1 – Increased Caliber Rounds
    • 3 – Hollow-Point Bullets
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 2 – Neurotoxin Coating

Increased Caliber Rounds modification gives the bulldog 10 damage, removing the damage penalty from the Volatile Bullets bullets. Moreover, each bullet also has a 50% chance of inflicting Neurotoxin on the enemy.

This deals 12 poison damage every 0.75-1.25 seconds for 10 seconds and reduces the bug’s speed by 30%. Like its name, this build is the real burning hell for the bugs on Hoxxes.

Gunner Best Build #2: Single-target Build

If you want to focus on high-value bugs and Dreadnoughts, try this single-target build!

This build focuses on high damage with a high rate of fire and armor-breaking effect. With Cold as The Grave modification, you can fire longer without overheating the minigun.

Primary Weapon: “Lead Storm” Powered Minigun

  • Overclock: Lead Storm
    • +4 Damage
    • Can’t move while firing
    • x0.25 Stun Chance
    • x0.5 Stun Duration
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Improved Platform Stability
    • 2 – High Velocity Rounds
    • 1 – Hardened Rounds
    • 1 – Variable Chamber Pressure
    • 2 – Cold As The Grave

Secondary Weapon: ArmsKore Coil Gun

  • Overclock: The Mole
    • +150 Damage for every terrain pierced
    • +500% Penetrability
    • x0.8 Charge Speed
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Larger Battery
    • 1 – Overcharger
    • 1 – Concussive Shockwave
    • 1 – Defence Enhancement
    • 3 – Electric Trail

The Mole adds 150 damage for each penetrated terrain. If you have the Drill on your team, remember to inform him you need the terrain to fight correctly.

Moreover, the Overcharge modification adds bonus damage to the ArmsKore after it’s fully charged and ready to shoot. For every 0.25 seconds after the full charge, the bullet receives 8 damage.

Gunner Best Build #3: Bug Control

Next, we have a crowd control build that is suitable for clearing waves of bugs.

The Thunderhead can deal both direct damage and area damage. So, to enhance the bullets even more, Neurotoxin Payload offers a 50% chance of inflicting Neurotoxin on the bugs.

This effect deals 12 poison damage every 0.75-1.25 seconds for over 10 seconds. Plus, it slows the bugs down by 30%. If you fire a bug multiple times, the effect won’t stack. Instead, the timer is reset to 10 seconds again.

If the poison effect isn’t enough for you, the Suppressive Fire modification inflicts 50% fear within 1 meter of where the bullets hit. Since each bug has different fear resistance, the actual chance of causing fear varies from 15-35%.

Primary Weapon: “Thunderhead” Heavy Autocannon

  • Overclock: Neurotoxin Payload
    • 50% Chance of inflicting Neurotoxin
    • +0.6m Effect Radius
    • -2 Damage
    • -5 Area Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Lighter Barrel Assembly
    • 3 – High Velocity Rounds
    • 2 – Shrapnel Rounds
    • 2 – Suppressive Fire

Secondary Weapon: ArmsKore Coil Gun

  • Overclock: Hellfire
    • Ignite terrain within 2m of projectile trajectory
    • +1m Trail Radius
    • -200 Ammo
    • x0.7 Charge Speed
    • -2s Trail Duration
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Optimised Magnetic Circuit
    • 1 – Overcharger
    • 1 – Concussive Shockwave
    • 1 – Defence Enhancement
    • 1 – Necro-Thermal Catalyst

The ArmsKore is suitable for both single and multiple targets. With the Hellfire overclock, you can deal decent fire damage to rival robots, making clearing Industrial Sabotage easier.

The flame path lasts 3 seconds and deals 12 damage every 0.15-0.2 seconds.

Gunner Best Build #4: Hurricane Generalist

Finally on the list is a general build with two clean overclocks, suitable for anyone new to the Gunner.

This build works well in most cases, from close to long-range enemies such as menaces and spitball infectors. Each missile has a 25% chance to stun the bug for 3 seconds.

Primary Weapon: “Hurricane” Guided Rocket System

  • Overclock: Overtuned Feed Mechanism
    • x1.2 Max Velocity
    • +1 Rate of Fire
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Missile Belt
    • 2 – Anti-Tank Missiles
    • 1 – Nano Missles
    • 1 – Shrapnel Load
    • 2 – Uncontrolled Decompression

Secondary Weapon: BRT7 Burst Fire Gun

  • Overclock: Composite Casings
    • +36 Max Ammo
    • +1 Rate of Fire
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Floating Barrel
    • 2 – Quickfire Ejector
    • 2 – Increased Caliber Rounds
    • 3 – Hollow-Point Bullets
    • 1 – Burst Stun

With the BRT7, you can stun the bugs for another 4 seconds if all three bullets in a burst hit the target. With this build, those poor bugs can’t move at all.

Deep Rock Galactic – 4 Best Scout Builds: Overclocks, Perks, Loadouts https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-best-scout-builds/ https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-best-scout-builds/#respond Tue, 11 Apr 2023 07:43:38 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=43007 Scout is the most mobility class in Deep Rock Galactic. This flexible dwarf can fly across caverns to pick up the flowers and fossils for your team.

Although more than 30% of players pick Scout as their favorite class, not everyone knows how to optimize the builds.

Recommended Read: What Are the Best Weapon Overclocks in Deep Rock Galactic?

So, let’s look at some of the best Scout builds in Deep Rock Galactic!

We’ll guide you through some strong and fun Scout builds, including a flexible build for solo-ing and boss fighting, an elemental build with fire and electric damage, a cold build to quickly freeze the bugs, and finally, a Special Powder build so you can toss yourself anywhere you like.

Table of Contents

Scout Playstyle

Scout is the only class to collect the remaining 14 boolo caps within 1 minute in the dark cave.

Because of his grappling hook and the fall damage reduction from the suit, Scout can fly across dangerous caves without any problems.

That alone makes him the best class to complete secondary objects. But there is more!

Like other classes, Scout has 3 primary and 3 secondary weapons. From rifles, and shotguns, to a plasma gun and a crossbow, you can always count on this pioneer dwarf!

Scout’s primary weapon:

  • Deepcore GK2
  • M1000 Classic
  • DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine

Scout’s secondary weapon:

  • Jury-Rigged Boomstick
  • Zhukov NUK17
  • Nishanka Boltshark X-80

Scout and Engineer are the best duos in Deep Rock Galactic. Whenever you need to collect objects on the high ceiling, ping the Engineer, and you’ll have a steady platform immediately. That said, Scout should be the first one to rescue other dwarves since he can travel super fast.

With Scout, you can quickly return to the drop pod after completing the mission. But remember to light up the cave and cover your team for maximum rewards, and for Rock and Stone!

What Overclocks to Use for Scout

Picking for Scout is quite challenging since he doesn’t has many game-changing overclocks, compared to the Fat Boy of the Engineer. However, you can focus on clean overclocks instead to maximize the damage.

Without further ado, let’s see what overclocks to use for the Scout!

1. Jury-Rigged Boomstick – Special Powder

Special Powder is an upgraded version of the Engineer’s RJ250 Compound overclock. It allows you to travel around much faster by taking advantage of the thrust created by the shotgun.

The powder only works if your feet are above the ground. So, you can still shoot the bugs with the shotgun, as long as you don’t jump.

2. M1000 Classic – Hipster

The M1000 Classis is overpowered already with its 55 damage, 96 max ammo, 4 rate of fire, and 100% damage bonus on focused shots. With the help of the Hipster, your ammo and rate of fire are nearly doubled, and the recoil is reduced by 50%.

That said, many dwarves love this overclock because of the massive bonus. The only downside is the 17 damage reduction. However, you can surpass this nerf with focused shots.

3. Deepcore GK2 – Bullets of Mercy

Deepcore GK2 has many useful clean overclocks you could use without too much thinking. But if you want something new involving elemental damage, Bullets of Mercy is an excellent overclock!

It reduces your magazine size from 30 to 18 (without modifications) but increases damage to afflicted enemies by 50%.

4. Zhukov NUK17 – Embedded Detonators/Cryo Minelets

Regarding the Zhukov NUK17, Cryo Minelets and Embedded Detonators are two worth-mentioning overclocks.

Cryo Minelets allows you to turn the bullets into small cryo grenades that will explode when close to the enemy or after 4 seconds. The damage of those icy grenades isn’t much, but the ability to freeze the bugs is decent, especially when combined with the Bullets of Mercy overclock above.

On the other hand, Embedded Detonators will explode the target each time you reload. You’ll deal 38 damage for each bullet hit on the enemy, bringing the estimated total damage up to thousands.

What Perks to Use for Scout

Here are some excellent perks for the Scout class in Deep Rock Galactic.

1. Heightened Senses

As a Scout main, leading the way and lighting up the cave is the main goal. But sometimes, several special bugs like cave leeches or mactera grabbers can easily take you down in a single hit.

Heightened Senses perk prevents this from happening by giving a warning whenever these creatures get near you. In addition, you can break free and kill those creatures instantly 1-2 times per mission.

2. Deep Pockets

Besides secondary objectives, Scout also plays an essential role in gathering minerals and nitras. And going back and forth multiple times can be time-consuming and frustrating.

That’s why Deep Pockets is a must-have perk for Scout since it provides 5-15 more space in your inventory.

3. Thorns

Large waves of bugs are Scout’s biggest weaknesses. And to prevent that, Thorns is a great perk to choose!

A maximum Thorn level will cause 24 damage to any enemy attacking the dwarf, instantly killing enemies like Glyphid Swarmers, Naedocyte Hatchlings, and Naedocyte Shockers.

4. Field Medic

Fall damage causes most of the death in DRG, and Scout can travel quickly on the Y-axis.

Field Medic helps you revive teammate faster and provide a one-time instant revive per mission. This perk is pretty crucial in high-hazard missions.

5. Elemental Insulation

Elemental Insulation is the should-have perk for every class in DRG. It provides 20-30% element damage resistance, including fire, electricity, radiation, frost, poison, heat, and cold.

Above are the 5 best perks for Scout, but note that it entirely depends on your playstyle and preference. If you want to try out different loadouts, try the following perks: Dash, Hover Boots, Iron Will, and Born Ready.

4 Best Scout Builds & Weapon Loadouts

Here are the four best builds for the Scout in Deep Rock Galactic.

Scout Best Build #1: Hell Bullets

So, the first build on the list is quite simple. What you need to do is just hold the fire button, and that’s it!

The M1000 Classic already has decent damage with both normal and focused shots. With the Hipster overclock, you nearly double the max ammo, reduce recoil by half, and increase the rate of fire. This helps you deal massive damage in a short amount of time.

Primary Weapon: M1000 Classic

  • Overclock: Hipster
    • x1.913 Max Ammo
    • +3 Rate of Fire
    • x0.5 Recoil
    • -17 Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Hardened Rounds
    • 2 – Extended Clip
    • 1 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
    • 3 – Killing Machine

Secondary Weapon: Zhukov NUK17

  • Overclock: Embedded Detonators
    • Embedded Detonators
    • -6 Damage
    • -20 Combined Clip Size
    • -400 Max Ammo
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Quickfire Ejector
    • 2 – Better Weight Balance
    • 3 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Conductive Bullets

If the high fire rate from the M1000 Classic doesn’t satisfy you, the Zhukov NUK17 with Embedded Detonators overclock can do an excellent job of clearing medium waves of bugs and bosses.

Although this unstable overclock has massive penalties (reduction in damage and -400 max ammo, which is a huge loss), the damage is still great because of the explosion. Each impacted bullet deals 38 damage when you reload, and they can stack!

However, note that Embedded Detonators only damage the exposed part of bosses, not armor parts. So break that armor with your primary gun first before spamming those explosive bullets to the bosses.

Scout Best Build #2: Shocking Storm

Here’s a versatile build for both long and close range that can deal huge fire and electric damage. You must practice using a weapon without magazines and shooting the crossbow properly to get the most out of this build.

The DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine shoots plasma bullets to burn the bugs. Every bullet is stored in the same pool, so you don’t need to reload. Instead, you must shoot carefully so the gun won’t be overheated.

Primary Weapon: DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine

  • Overclock: Overtuned Particle Accelerator
    • +8 Direct Damage
    • x0.8 Battery Capacity
    • x1.5 Heat per Shot
    • +400% Horizontal
    • +133% Vertical Base Spread
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Improved Thermals
    • 1 – Larger Battery
    • 2 – Gen 2 Cooling System
    • 3 – Destructive Resonance AMP
    • 2 – Thermal Feedback Loop

Secondary Weapon: Nishanka Boltshark X-80

  • Overclock: Quick Fire
    • -0.2s Reload Time
    • x2 Projectile Velocity
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Special Bolt: Taser
    • 2 – Increased Quiver Capacity
    • 1 – Stabilizing Arm Brace
    • 1 – Battle Frenzy
    • 2 – Magnetic Shafts

The Overtuned Particle Accelerator gives 8 more direct damage, nearly double the gun’s damage. But in return, you have less ammo, generate more heat per shot, and, most importantly, the base spread is massively increased, making it extremely difficult to shoot enemies at a far distance.

To save the situation, the Nishanka Boltshark X-80 is perfect for dealing with long-range enemies such as menaces and spitballs. Remember to press “R” to switch to special bolts.

If you need more ammo, replace the Battle Frenzy modification in tier 4 with Radio Transmitter Module. This new modification allows you to retrieve bolts.

Scout Best Build #3: Agony Bullets

If you love elemental damage, this will surely be your next favorite Scout build!

With the correct modifications for Deepcore GK2 and the Bullets of Mercy overclock, you fire faster, hit harder, and cause more damage to enemies with status effects, such as burning, frozen, stunned, electrocuted, radiation, and much more.

If an enemy suffers from multiple effects, it only receives 50% more damage since the effect doesn’t stack. But that’s good enough for a balanced overclock.

Primary Weapon: Deepcore GK2

  • Overclock: Bullets of Mercy
    • +50% Damage to Afflicted Targets
    • x0.6 Magazine Size
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Supercharged Feed Mechanism
    • 2 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 2 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 1 – Hollow-Point Bullets
    • 3 – Stun

Secondary Weapon: Zhukov NUK17

  • Overclock: Cryo Minelets
    • Cryo Minelets
    • -1 Damage
    • -10 Combined Clip Size
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Quickfire Ejector
    • 2 – Better Weight Balance
    • 1 – Blowthrough Rounds
    • 1 – Conductive Bullets

With Cryo Minelets for the secondary weapon, we have a good source of elemental effect and damage to freeze the bugs, directly increasing the damage from the primary weapon.

This build works really well if you have the Driller on your team. However, solo is still a solid option since Scout also has the Cryo Grenade and Voltaic Stun Sweeper.

When using the Zhukov NUK17 to inflict frost damage, you must shoot on the ground near the bugs, not the bugs.

Scout Best Build #4: Levitating Dwarf

Finally, we have a solid basic build with a clean overclock, suitable for anyone new and who wants to experience the Scout class.

The Minimal Clips overclock increases the clip size and decreases the reload time, making eliminating the bugs enjoyable. On the other hand, you could pick Hipster overclock for more ammo and rate of fire in exchange for 17 damage.

Primary Weapon: M1000 Classic

  • Overclock: Minimal Clips
    • x1.25 Clip Size
    • -0.2s Reload Time
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Hardened Rounds
    • 2 – Extended Clip
    • 1 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
    • 3 – Killing Machine

Secondary Weapon: Jury-Rigged Boomstick

  • Overclock: Special Powder
    • Shotgun Jump
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Double Trigger
    • 2 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
    • 3 – White Phosphorous Shells

For the secondary weapon, Special Powder allows you to launch high up to escape the bug waves more easily. In addition, the shotgun can save you from fatal falls, especially when trying to collect secondary objectives on the ceiling.

Instead of focusing on damage, we prefer picking ammo and Double Trigger modifications so you can have more ammo and shoot faster, making flying in the caves not a big trouble anymore.

Table of Contents

Best Weapon Overclocks in Deep Rock Galactic

Before we dive deeper into the best weapon overclocks for each class, it’s worth noting that the overclocks listed below are based on several criteria, such as community choice and personal preference.

So, if you find any better overclocks, feel free to let us know in the comment below.

Or if you’re a perfectionist, we’d recommend picking the clean overclocks because they don’t have any negative effects at all.

1. Best Weapon Overclocks for Gunner

Gunner is well-known for his high DPS and powerful guns. Currently, there are 39 weapon overclocks for Gunner’s guns.

“Lead Storm” Powered Minigun

For the minigun, there are two overclocks that are worth mentioning. They’re Burning Hell and Lead Storm.

Burning Hell allows you to burn any enemy standing near the minigun while making the heat generation 50% faster. Although at first glance, this overclock seems only to bring trouble, wait until we talk about the Bulldog overclock below.

On the other hand, Lead Storm gives you +4 damage but makes it impossible to move while firing the minigun, reducing the stun chance and the stun duration.

The base damage of the minigun is only 10, so four more damage is pretty decent.

“Thunderhead” Heavy Autocannon

Sometimes, you will find it challenging to deal with massive waves of bugs while playing the Gunner. If that’s the case, Carpet Bomber is the go-to overclock.

Carpet Bomber adds 3 area damage and 0.6 meters to the splash damage. However, your direct damage is reduced by 7.

Alternatively, Splintering Shells or Big Bertha are great overclocks for the Thunderhead gun.

“Hurricane” Guided Rocket System

If you want to turn your rocket gun into an automatic shotgun, Salvo Module is the chosen one!

With Salvo Module equipped, you can hold the left mouse button to fire up to 9 missiles at once. You can’t guide those missiles, but they fly faster and deal more damage (up to 4) for each missile added.

“Bulldog” Heavy Revolver

For the Bulldog Revolver, we have two overclocks: Volatile Bullets and Magic Bullets.

Volatile Bullets make the revolver cause 300% damage for burning enemies but reduce 10 damage in general. Although each shot can now only deal 50 damage, you can cause 150 damage in a single hit.

If you don’t want to aim that much, Magic Bullets can help you by making the bullets bounce off the terrain and hit the bugs for you. You’ll get +8 max ammo, but the overall damage is decreased by 20.

BRT7 Burst Fire Gun

With decent damage and a high rate of fire, BRT7 Burst Fire Gun works really well with most overclocks.

You could use Lead Spray to multiply the damage by 1.5 times. However, because of the x4 base spread penalty, this gun is only effective at close range.

If you want to kill more bugs, Compact Mags is a perfect option since it provides 84 max ammo but only decreases 1 rate of fire and increases the reload time by 0.4 seconds.

ArmsKore Coil Gun

This gun is well-known for its terrain penetration ability. That said, The Mole is the best overclock for fighting high-value enemies or bosses in DRG.

The Mole gives 500% penetration ability to bullets and adds 150 damage for each terrain the bullet penetrated. This damage stack limitless, so it’s all depends on the bullet penetration.

2. Best Weapon Overclocks for Engineer

Engineer is by far the best class in the game, with solid offensive and defensive builds. Currently, there are 36 weapon overclocks for Engineer guns.

“Warthog” Auto 210

Not everyone loves this default shotgun and its overclocks, but have you tried Mini Shells and Magnetic Pellet Alignment?

Mini Shells simply give you +78 max ammo, +6 magazine size, and reduce 50% recoil. In contrast, it completely removes the stun chance and duration of the shotgun and -2 damage. Who needs stun when you can spam the guns to death?

Magnetic Pellet Alignment reduces the rate of fire by 25% but gives more accuracy and 30% damage to weak points.

“Stubby” Voltaic SMG

Let’s try EM Refire Booster and Light-Weight Rounds for the Stubby SMG!

Both are balanced overclocks, which means they don’t completely change the gun but only give minor penalties and boosts.

EM Refire Booster gives +2 electric damage and +4 rate of fire but increases the base spread by 50%.

Light-Weight Rounds give +180 max ammo but -1 damage and -2 rate of fire.

LOK-1 Smart Rifle

This rifle is pretty good, so any overclock could do the work. However, Executioner and Explosive Chemical Rounds are among the best.

Executioner halves the lock time and causes 50% more damage to weak points on full lock. The downsides are -12 max ammo, -12 magazine size, and -66% of the number of enemies you can lock.

Explosive Chemical Rounds is a fun and strong overclock where the third bullet will explode for 50 damage if you lock an enemy with 3 locks max. In addition, this overclock reduces the weapon’s damage by 5 and -36 max ammo.

Deepcore 40mm PGL

Deepcore 40mm PGL is a powerful gun with massive damage, high range, and a high fear factor. Same as the LOK-1 Rifle, all Deepcore’s overclocks are pretty useful.

Fat Boy is by far the best overclock with its enormous radiation damage, x4 area damage, and +1m radius. However, if you love a weapon with decent ammo, this is not the best choice since your max ammo will be reduced to 30% (so only 3 max without modifications) and 30% nerf to projectile velocity.

Alternatively, you can pick Clean Sweep for a small boost in damage and radius, RJ250 Compound for flexibility, and Hyper Propellant for a massive damage boost.

Breach Cutter

If you don’t want to think much, Light-Weight Cases and Stronger Plasma Current do a pretty good job with the increase in max ammo, beam DPS, projectile lifetime, and reduce a little bit of reload time.

Ultimately, Inferno is the best overclock with the highest DPS so far. But because it deals fire damage, it’s best to check the mission carefully (avoid Magma Core, for example) before picking this overclock.

Shard Diffractor

For Shard Diffractor, we’ll use Plastcrete Catalyst and Volatile Impact Reactor.

Plastcrete Catalyst reduces 50 total capacity and +0.8s recharge time, but you will be able to shoot your platform to create a massive explosion that deals 300 damage.

On the other hand, the Volatile Impact Reactor halves the area radius and charge capacity of the gun, but it will burn the ground for 7 seconds with 10 damage every 0.1-0.15 seconds. This is pretty useful for defensive purposes, especially for Escort Duty missions.

3. Best Weapon Overclocks for Driller

Driller is a tough class with many elemental guns, making him ideal for specific mission types. Currently, there are 36 weapon overclocks for Driller’s guns.

CRSPR Flamethrower

Face Melter or Sticky Fuel is the best unstabled overclock for this flamethrower!

Face Melter gives you +4 damage and +1.8 fuel flow rate while reducing your flame reach and tank size. This is a good trade-off since you can just smelt any bugs with little effort.

On the other hand, Stick Fuel improves the stickiness of the flame. This makes the flame stay longer where you shoot by adding 6 seconds for the sticky flame and +10 sticky flame DPS. However, your max fuel is reduced by 75, and the tank size is reduced by 25.

Cryo Cannon

With the help of the Cryo Cannon, you can say goodbye to those annoying flying bugs and exploders.

Tuned Cooler is the only overclock that increases your freezing power by 1. In addition, it also increases the flow rate, charge up time, and reduces the pressure gain rate by half.

Corrosive Sludge Pump

Volatile Impact Mixture is a good overclock since it doubles the damage of your regular and charged shot. However, the corrosive damage duration is reduced by half, and the puddle duration is multiplied by 0.75.

If you want to create more fragments (or a mess), Disperser Compound is an excellent overclock! It adds 6 charged shot fragments with +4 more damage. However, the charged shot area damage is reduced by 24.

Subata 120

Explosive Reload is a unique overclock that can help you deal massive damage to a single enemy. Whenever you reload, each bullet on the enemy will deal 42 damage. This damage is stacked and can be applied to multiple enemies.

Explosive Reload halves your max ammo and magazine size, however.

If you want to turn this pistol into a fully automatic rifle, Automatic Fire could be a great choice. This allows you to hold the left mouse button to fire, +2 rate of fire, double base spread, and triple recoil effect.

Experimental Plasma Charger

Persistent Plasma reduces the charged damage and area damage overall by 15. But the charged shot will create a big plasma trail with 8 damage per 0.2-0.25 seconds for 7 seconds.

Alternatively, Energy Rerouting is a clean overclock that works really well for mineral-mining purposes. It gives 16 battery capacity and speeds up the charge time.

Colette Wave Cooker

The Colette Wave Cooker is already a good weapon with its damage and long-range advantages. So a clean overclock like Liquid Cooling System is sufficient.

Liquid Cooling System improves the heat generation, cooling rate, and reduces the overheating duration by 0.2 seconds.

Many dwarves in the DRG community also use Gamma Contamination. But it has too many disadvantages compared to a medium boost in damage.

4. Best Weapon Overclocks for Scout

Scout is the most mobility class in the game. He can fly across the terrain without being afraid of fall damage. Currently, there are 37 weapon overclocks for Scout’s guns.

Deepcore GK2

For GK2, Bullets of Mercy could work really well since Scout can cause many elemental damages with his secondary weapons.

Bullets of Mercy reduce the magazine size by 40% but increase the weapon damage by 33% to afflicted targets (burning, stunned, frozen, poisoned, electrocuted,…).

M1000 Classic

We could say M1000 is a sniper gun for Scout because of its damage, accuracy, and focus shot.

And with the Hipster overclock, this sniper gun can fire faster, just like a rifle. Hipster halves the recoil effect, almost double max ammo and +3 rate of fire. The only downside is the damage reduction, bringing the total damage down to 38.

DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine

To maximize the potential of the Plasma Carbine, using Overtuned Particle Accelerator or Thermal Exhaust Feedback is a great option!

Overtuned Particle Accelerator increases the DPS furthermore by adding 8 direct damage to the gun. With 12 rates of fire and 17 damage, you can deal up to 204 damage per second. In contrast, the overclock increases base spread, heat per shot, and reduce battery capacity by 20%.

Thermal Exhaust Feedback adds +6 damage per shot when the heat is over 50%, increasing overheat duration and multiplying the heat per shot by 1.2 times. So, the more you shoot, the more damage you will deal.

Jury-Rigged Boomstick

If you often fall to death, even if you’re familiar with the grappling hook, Special Powder is the best overclock for the Boomstick.

You can launch yourself into space without penalties with a shotgun shot. And that’s it!

If you prefer to deal more damage with the shotgun, try Jumbo Shells or Stuffed Shells.

Zhukov NUK17

Similar to the Subata 120 of the Driller, we use Embedded Detonators overclock for this submachine gun.

You will deal 38 damage for each bullet on the enemy whenever you reload. This effect stacks and can be applied to multiple enemies. Plus, it also works for any penetrated bullet.

Nishanka Boltshark X-80

This is a fun weapon for anyone who loves crossbows. However, retrieving the bolts can sometimes be tedious.

Trifork Volley could be the best overclock for the Boltshark X-80 if you’re tired of picking the bolts. This triples the projectiles and gives 20% more ammo capacity. On the other hand, each projectile deals 15% less damage, and your reload time is slower.

You will run out of ammo quickly, so saving some for high-value bugs, such as the Wardens, Menaces, or Bulks, is wise.

(150,000+ reviews with Overwhelmingly Positive ratings)

Like, who doesn’t love yelling rock and stone with their fellows?

If you’re new to the game and want to efficiently progress into the game deeper and deeper, let’s take a quick glance at our Deep Rock Galactic beginner guide!

Recommended Read: Deep Rock Galactic – Machine Events List

Deep Rock Galactic is a co-op FPS game about dwarves, bugs, mining, minerals, and fancy beards. Although it’s a simple game, new players can be easily distracted by how detailed it is and forget about the objectives, what to do next, etc… That said, you should pay attention to the assignment board and the season terminal, always collect gold, and don’t be afraid to try new things.

Table of Contents

Deep Rock Galactic: Danger, Darkness, Dwarves

Imagine playing Left 4 Dead with your friends, but you’re not a normal human being. You play as a dwarf!

Together with the other three dwarves, you create a quartet team to explore and gather resources on the Hoxxes planet. You can also play solo with Bosco – the APD-B317.

Instead of fighting zombies and reaching safe rooms like L4D, you go on missions and missions to gather minerals, shoot bugs, promote yourself, annoy the management, and blow each other up.

The Objectives and Goals

After a few hundred hours of playing Deep Rock Galactic, we are pretty sure that the game’s main goal is to please the management and the DRG company as a whole.

Oh, wait!

Introduction

Deep Rock Galactic is a nonlinear game, so you don’t have to go on a pre-defined story. Instead, you can do whatever you want and progress further into the game at your own pace as long as you have some fun.

After you’ve completed the tutorial mission, you’ll end up in the Space Rig.

This is the mother ship in which you’ll spend most of your time to:

  • Select a mission to play
  • Pick assignments
  • Track the daily to-dos at the season terminal
  • Change class, buy and equip perks, track your performance
  • Upgrade and equip weapons
  • Promote
  • Forge and equip overclocks
  • Fun activities (kicking barrels, soccer, drinking beers, dancing, and more)
  • And respawn in the med bay after each death

Although there are many things to do here, you should check out the assignment board and get on a series of missions.

The Mission

Currently, there are seven different missions in DRG. They are:

  • Mining Expedition
  • Egg Hunt
  • On-site Refining
  • Salvage Operation
  • Point Extraction
  • Escort Duty
  • Elimination

For each mission, you’ll have two objectives (primary and secondary) to complete.

The primary objective depends on your chosen mission, and the secondary objective is randomly picked from the pool, such as collecting mushrooms and flowers or eliminating the fleas.

Moreover, each mission in DRG occurs in a specific biome. And depending on the biome, you can expect different terrain types, minerals, and enemies.

For example, the Magma Core biome is well-known for its flaming terrain and the annoying explorers. Or the Glacial Strata biome is famous for its Umanite resources and the icy bugs.

Not to mention that the environment can help you a lot in combat. See the spiky stalactite on the ceiling? Shoot it to penetrate the bugs! Or are you fighting with icy bugs? Use any fire-damage guns to increase your damage!

Besides mission type and biome, each mission in DRG can also come with mutators, which are red or yellow icons next to the mission.

The mutators can be warnings (red), anomalies (yellow), or even both in the same mission. They provide advantages (anomalies) or disadvantages (warnings) to that specific mission.

For example, two of the most annoying warnings are Shield Disruption and Low Oxygen. Shield Disruption completely disables your shield, and Low Oxygen forces you to stay around the MULE for oxygen constantly.

On the other hand, anomalies provide a significant buff to your dwarves, such as Double XP, or deal more damage to the bug’s weak point.

The Goal

After you’ve finished the primary objective, you can press the button on the MULE to call the drop pod to go back to the Space Rig. In contrast, completing the secondary objective will give you more gold and experience points.

Later on, after your first promotion, you’ll unlock deep dives, a series of three consecutive missions in a row without returning to the Space Rig.

As mentioned, Deep Rock Galactic has no end.

So, it entirely depends on you to set the goal for the game.

Your goal could be to unlock all the overclocks, reach blue level 1000, or get legendary promotion for all four dwarves.

How to Progress in Deep Rock Galactic

To progress in Deep Rock Galactic, you must play as one of the classes (Gunner, Scout, Engineer, and Driller), go on missions, collect minerals and gold, unlock and upgrade new features, promote your dwarves, and finally, repeat.

1. Greenbeard Stage (0-25 Red Level)

Most features in DRG depend on three things: your blue level, red level, and the first promotion milestone.

Blue level is your player rank. It’s like your account level in general and can only be leveled up by leveling red levels or promoting your dwarves.

Red level is the dwarf’s level. That said, each class in the game has a separate red level.

To level up your dwarf (red level), you must earn XP through missions and deep dives.

In this stage, you should focus on playing only one class.

The main goal is to level up him to 25 as fast as possible for promotion. Here’s a guide for fast leveling in DRG.

2. Authorized Miner (The First Promotion)

To promote a dwarf, you must max out his red level, which is capped at 25. Besides the level requirements, you must do a special assignment, prepare gold and crafting materials.

Go to the Memorial Hall in the single-player mode, then promote your first dwarf.

The first promotion gives you access to all remaining features, including end-game ones. Later promotions provide you with nothing but a new rank border.

After the management had done his motivational speech, there were many things to do after the first promotion, such as equip the second active perk, do deep dives, farm overclocks, do new assignments and more.

Farming and forge overclocks are essential since these are game-changer weapon upgrades.

In this stage, you still need to do any leftover assignments and new unlocked weekly assignments for materials and free overclocks.

In addition, it’s better to play different classes instead of focusing on only one at this stage. This way, you can learn about other classes’ abilities to improve teamwork. Plus, this is the best efficient way to maximize XP gain.

When you’re done messing around with the new features, head to the Deep Dives terminal at the end of the Space Rig and challenge yourself!

Once you get the hang of deep dives (and elite deep dives), you’re basically completing this stage.

3. Graybeard Stage (Post Promotions)

When you reach this stage, your beard turns gray, and you’re near the end game. Or are you?

As mentioned above, if your goal is to unlock all overclocks, you should be able to achieve it in a few months or even weeks if you’re active.

If your goal is to promote all dwarves to legendary rank, it will take at least a thousand hours or more.

Alternatively, if you want to reach blue level 1000, that could be longer. In fact, with 360 hours in the game, we can only achieve 260 blue levels.

At this point, you do your things.

Keep doing weekly assignments and farm those leftover overclocks. Or unlocking new weapons and trying out all modifications. Or try to reach 3000 points in the Barrel Hoop game.

Moreover, Deep Rock Galactic has a great community with many custom mods where you can completely change the gameplay.

Tips & Tricks for New Players

If you pay attention to the tutorial and some quick in-game hints, you should know how to use the Terrain Scanner and Laser Pointer.

Besides that, let’s see our nine tips and tricks for new players in Deep Rock Galactic!

1. Always pick an assignment if possible

Many new players don’t know about assignments or the assignment board. And this is a huge mistake!

The assignment terminal can be found in the middle of the Space Rig, near the Pod and the Accessory Shop.

It would be best if you prioritized assignments first since they provide new guns, resources, overclocks, and skins. It’s a waste to play missions without picking an assignment unless you don’t want to progress.

2. Learn about the bug weaknesses

Some bugs in DRG have weak points you can shoot to double or even triple the damage.

Usually, the bugs’ weak points are the mouth, abdomen, back, sack, glowing, or exposed parts. You can check this info in the Miner Guide in the game.

3. Understand overclocks and modifications (Weak Point vs. Armor Breaking)

Weapon modifications and overclocks are your primary power source. So, understanding what they provide can be a huge advantage.

You may know about the damage increase, fire rate, reloading speed, clip size, or magazine size upgrades. But two upgrades that confuse new players the most are weak points and armor-breaking upgrades.

For weak point damage increase, you can refer to point 2 above.

For armor-breaking upgrades, they increase the damage and chance to destroy the bugs’ armor, such as the Mactera Brundles or Glyphid Praetorians.

4. There is friendly fire

Even though DRG is a co-op game, you can still shoot your fellow dwarves. So, pay attention to any AoE damage weapon, such as the flamethrower, grenades, or the Fat Boy.

If you love using those gun types, there is a passive perk that can reduce your friendly fire damage by 50%.

5. Lighting is important

Flares and Scout’s light is super important in this game since you don’t know what awaits you in the vast dark cave.

On the other hand, fighting when everything is clear is way better than blindly shooting, right?

6. Resupply pods

Based on our experience, new players usually take more resupply pods than they need.

By doing this, you disrespect others and contribute to the mission’s failure. Since there is an ammo cap for all your guns and grenades, there is no point in taking 3 or 4 resupply pods.

7. Fall damage

Although there are many enemies, fall damage contributes to a large portion of dwarves’ death in this game.

If you play Scout, fall damage is not a big problem. Moreover, the Engineer can upgrade his platform gun to prevent minor fall damage.

8. Some guns can destroy the terrain

Most Gunner’s guns or the Experimental Plasma Charger can destroy the terrain. This means a lot when your team almost dies and sees red sugar on the ceiling.

9. Freeze the flying enemies

Unlike walking bugs, flying enemies like Mactera Spawns, Grabbers, or Goo Bombers will die instantly if frozen. This makes the Cryo Cannon or Scout’s Cryo Grenade the best weapon to fight flying enemies.

Deep Rock Galactic – Machine Events List (How to Unlock & Rewards) https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-machine-events-list/ https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-machine-events-list/#respond Wed, 15 Mar 2023 09:17:47 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=41022 In Deep Rock Galactic, machine events are one type of many events that gives unique challenges and rewards.

However, not all dwarves know how to use those machine events, especially if their blue level less than ten.

In this article, we’ll go over all of the machine events in Deep Rock Galactic, how to unlock them, and what rewards they give.

Recommended Read: How to Find Lost Helmets in Deep Rock Galactic

Currently, there are four types of machine events in Deep Rock Galactic – the Ebonite Mutation, Kursite Ifection, Omen Modular Exterminator, and Tritilyte Crystal. They can spawn in any normal mission and be activated with the Tritilyte Key – an item obtained after your first promotion. Machine events give you bonus experience, credits, and overclocks.

Table of Contents

When Do You Unlock Machine Events

Machine events can spawn in any normal mission but not in deep dives or elite deep dives.

Depending on the mission length, machine events have a 15%, 20%, and 35% chance, respectively, to spawn in a mission with one, two, and three-length.

Machine events can only be activated by the Tritilyte Key. And you can unlock this reusable item after your first promotion.

However, you don’t need the key for machine events to spawn. They will spawn randomly depending on the mission length mentioned above.

That said, you already unlock machine events the first time you play the game. You just need to find and activate them.

It’s worth mentioning that only one machine event can spawn in a single mission.

What Rewards Do Machine Events Give

Machine events in Deep Rock Galactic give credits, experience points, weapon overclocks, and cosmetic overclocks.

Even if you fail to complete the machine events’ challenges, you’ll still receive the credits and experience points.

That said, you can only receive overclocks after completing a machine event, even if you’re being kicked by toxic dwarves or fail the mission.

Overall, the most useful purpose of machine events is to farm overclocks.

When you’ve completed the machine event challenges, look for the Core Infuser lying around.

You can then insert a Blank Matrix Core into it to choose between 3 randomly generated overclocks. If you’ve already collected all the overclocks, you’ll earn 120 crating materials instead.

Machine Events List in Deep Rock Galactic

When you’ve successfully activated the machine events, you’ll have 3 minutes to complete their challenge to earn shiny rewards.

The challenge objectives will be modified accordingly depending on the player count and the hazard level.

Let’s see the four machine events in Deep Rock Galactic and how to beat them!

1. Ebonite Mutation

Ebonite Mutation is a small green machine.

It’s an easy challenge where you have to kill a certain amount of stony Glyphids. They’re called “Ebonite Grunts” and “Ebonite Praetorians”.

They have the same model as their normal form but with a rock skin, making them immune to guns’ projectiles.

Therefore, you must use your pickaxe, power attack, impact axes, or the Driller’s power drills to kill them.

To complete the challenge, you have to earn amount points by killing the Ebonite bugs. Grunts give 1, while Praetorians give 2 points.

The required points are 15/25/30/40, depending on the player count.

To assist the dwarves, the machine periodically throws out canisters to boost the pickaxe damage and reduce the power attack cooldown.

Besides the Ebonite bugs, other normal bugs will also spawn in this event. So prepare both your guns and pickaxe!

2. Kursite Infection

The Kursite Infection is a slightly larger machine event than the Ebonite Mutation. It has the featured pink color in the machine’s core.

Once activated, Kursite bugs (blue skin with a big yellow crystal) will spawn and attack the dwarves. You must kill them and bring the Kursite crystal to put in the machine.

Three types of Kursite bugs can spawn in the event, including Glyphid Acid Spitter, Glyphid Praetorian, and Mactera Spawn. However, only one type can spawn for each machine event.

To complete the challenge, you have to collect enough Kursite crystals.

If you play alone, you must kill 6 Acid Spitters or 4 Praetorian, or 6 Mactera Spawns and turn in the crystals.

If the game has two to four dwarves, your team has to kill 12 Acid Spitters or 8 Praetorian, or 13 Mactera Spawns.

One important tip for this machine event is you should wait for the Kursite bugs to come closer to the machine. Then kill them so you can quickly turn in the crystals.

This is extremely useful if the machine spawns in tricky locations, such as near a high cliff or with many holes around it.

Other normal bugs will spawn in the challenge, too, so make sure to set up the place properly.

3. Omen Modular Exterminator

OME is by far the most challenging machine event in Deep Rock Galactic!

It can be identified as a tall modern tower with three layers. Each layer has its own health bar and attacks.

To damage the machine, you must attack each layer’s weak points, indicated as green lights, when exposed.

And how to expose the weak points?

There are 3 maintenance platforms generated around the OME tower. And you have to stand on it for around 3 seconds to expose the weak points.

To make it even harder, the machine is partially immune to the explosion, fire, and cold damage. That’s why you should pick weak point damage modifications when fighting the OME tower.

To win the challenge, you have to destroy all 11 weak points of the OME tower.

Depending on the player count and hazard level, each weak point’s HP can vary from 120 to 960.

This machine event requires a lot of setups and hit-and-run tactics. You can have the Driller dig tunnels around the machine to avoid the beams, or the Engineer to place the platform right on top of the maintenance platforms.

The tower will spawn an explosion drone every 6 seconds, dealing massive damage. So watch out for those drones and destroy them immediately!

Also, you should pay attention to the slow red light on the ground. When standing in the red zone, a minigun from the tower can kill you in a second.

4. Tritilyte Crystal

The Tritilyte Crystal is the final machine event on the list. You can recognize it with a giant red crystal and four laser guns.

Once activated, the DRG company will send a Nanite Bomb Dispenser to your location, and the 3 minutes begin.

Within this time, you must carry the nanite bomb from the dispenser and throw it at the Tritilyte Crystal.

Since the bomb is heavy, you can’t do anything while carrying it, just like when carrying Bittergem, Aquarqs, and other giant materials.

You can only destroy the Tritilyte Crystal with nanite bombs. This is why setup a proper path from the dispenser and the crystal is crucial for this challenge.

Sometimes, it’s impossible to complete this machine event because of the dispenser’s location. You can still receive credits and experience points, though.

Each nanite bomb dealt 100 damage within a 2 meters radius. The damage is reduced by 50% between 2 and 3 meters radius.

Depending on the player count and hazard level, Tritilyte Crystal’s health can vary from 315 to 1050.

That’s all you need to know about machine events in Deep Rock Galactic.

Deep Rock Galactic – How to Find Lost Helmets https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-how-to-find-lost-helmets/ https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-how-to-find-lost-helmets/#respond Tue, 14 Mar 2023 08:53:13 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=41020 In Deep Rock Galactic, lost helmets (or lost packs) are one of the important sources to farm pickaxe parts and victory moves.

So, knowing what they are and how to find them is essential since the game won’t introduce this mechanic at all.

In this article, let’s see how to find lost helmets in Deep Rock Galactic!

Recommended Read: Deep Rock Galactic – Engineer Build

Depending on the mission length, lost helmets have a 15%, 20%, and 35% chance to spawn in normal missions, respectively. Because lost helmets spawn in a random location on each mission, paying attention to their beeping sound is the only way to find them. The closer you are, the bigger the sound is.

Table of Contents

How to Find Lost Helmets in Deep Rock Galactic

Lost helmets can spawn in any normal mission except for deep dives and elite deep dives.

Since the chance they spawn depends on the mission length, there are multiple strategies to farm them effectively.

First, you can try speedrun multiple 1-length missions to find lost helmets easier. Remember to check the caves thoroughly, especially in the end cave in the Mining Expedition mission type.

On the other hand, always playing 3-length missions is another good way to find lost helmets.

Alternatively, joining missions late can be the most effective way to farm lost helmets because you don’t have to play the mission from the beginning all the way to the end but rather depend on your fellow dwarves.

However, doing so is considered a bad habit, according to the DRG community.

When you hear the beeping sound, try to go around and look for the helmet.

Note that the beeping sound can also come from the Cargo Crates. So don’t be happy just yet!

When you’ve found the glowing helmet lying on the ground, holding the “E” key to scan for the lost treasure.

Right after that, a small hidden room will be created in a random location.

You have to press the “Tab” or “M” key to open the Terrain Scanner and look for a small pink dot on the map. That’s where the hidden room is located!

Remember that this room is only created after you’ve scanned the lost helmet. So, you can’t just dig randomly to find those kinds of treasures in Deep Rock Galactic.

If you have the Driller on your team, wonderful! Digging through the complex cave system to reach the hidden room will be much easier.

Otherwise, good luck digging there, especially if you’re playing on missions in the Radioactive Exclusion Zone biome, where you must swing a package 3 times to break terrains.

The hidden room contains gold, crafting materials, and the lost pack, which gives you pickaxe parts, armor paintjobs, and other cosmetics.

Depending on the biome, you will receive different types of crafting materials, such as:

  • Azure Weald: Croppa and Umanite
  • Crystalline Caverns: Jadiz and Bismor
  • Dense Biozone: Bismor and Umanite
  • Fungus Bogs: Croppa and Jadiz
  • Glacial Strata: Magnite and Umanite
  • Hollow Bough: Jadiz and Bismor
  • Magma Core: Magnite and Bismor
  • Radioactive Exclusion Zone: Umanite and Enor Pearl
  • Salt Pits: Enor Pearl and Bismor
  • Sandblasted Corridors: Enor Pearl and Magnite

That said, lost helmets are also great sources to farm crafting materials.

That’s how to find lost helmets in Deep Rock Galactic.

Driller is well-known for his deadly explosive C4 and a pair of drills attached to each hand. Unlike other classes, Driller travels underground or in the wall most of the time.

Driller has all types of weapons you’d ask for besides explosion. From a flamethrower to a freezing cannon, you can burn your enemies alive, freeze them mid-air, then use your C4 or grenades to explode them into thousands of pieces.

Driller’s primary weapon:

  • CRSPR Flamethrower
  • Cryo Cannon
  • Corrosive Sludge Pump

Driller’s secondary weapon:

  • Subata 120
  • Experimental Plasma Charger
  • Colette Wave Cooker

If you have the Driller on your team in some missions, it’s easier to drill a straight line to the Drop Pod instead of figuring out the way in the complex cave. That said, Driller is extremely good for missions in the Radioactive zone.

Fall damage is lethal to the Driller. So before digging somewhere, ensure you’ve carefully looked at the minimap by pressing the “Tab” or “M” key.

What Overclocks to Use for Driller

You may think clean overclocks work best because they only have positive effects without any penalties. But that’s not the case since you must sacrifice something to get a new overpowered mechanic.

So, let’s see what overclocks to use for the Driller.

1. Cryo Cannon – Tuned Cooler

The Cryo Cannon has many fun overclocks to play with, but Tuned Cooler is the best if you want to freeze your enemies quicker.

We have a detailed build with this overclock right below.

2. Subata 120 – Explosive Reload

At first glance, you may think the Explosive Reload is not worth it since it reduces your overall ammo and clip size by 50%.

However, with the new explosive reload mechanic, each bullet from the Subata 120 can deal additional 42 damage. And they stack!

If you do it right, you can deal more than 300 damage for each weapon reload.

3. Corrosive Sludge Pump – Volatile Impact Mixture

This overclock doubles damage for both standard and charged shoots while sacrificing the puddles’ duration and reducing the damage over time.

With a significant boost on the damage, you can melt down those large creatures quite easily in Deep Rock Galactic.

4. CRSPR Flamethrower – Face Melter/Sticky Fuel

You can choose between the Face Smelter and Sticky Fuel overclock for the Flamethrower.

Face Smelter tends to increase the overall damage and reduce the fire distance. While the Sticky Fuel overclock gives +10 sticky damage and +6s sticky duration. However, your tank size and max fuel are slightly reduced.

5. Experimental Plasma Charger – Persistent Plasma

If you enjoy mining minerals with the Experimental Plasma Charger, consider using the Cooling Unit overclock.

Otherwise, Persistent Plasma overclock is good since it leaves a plasma trail for 7 seconds. The trail deal 8 damage per 0.2 – 0.25 seconds to any enemies within a 3 meters radius.

It’s all up to you to decide which overclock to use. Based on your playstyle, you may find some overclocks better than others. Or if you’re a completionist, clean overclocks are the way to go.

What Perks to Use for Driller

Here are some excellent perks for the Driller class in Deep Rock Galactic.

1. Iron Will

Iron Will is a perfect perk for almost every class in Deep Rock Galactic. And with the Driller, Iron Will is a must-have perk.

Once per mission, after you die, you can stand up again with all guns reloaded, move faster, and deal more damage with the pickaxe. Combined with the Vampire perk, you can quickly return to the battle as if nothing happened.

2. Dash

Since the Driller has no travel tool, Dash can help in some deadly situations.

For 1.5 seconds, your movement speed is increased by x2.2 times. Although you can’t compete with the Scout, rushing through the waves of bugs with Dash is an incredible experience.

3. Vampire

With every medium or large bug killed with a melee attack, you can gain up to 5 health points.

With the Cryo Cannon, the Driller can quickly freeze any enemy. And while on the frozen stage, the bugs receive more melee damage from all sources.

That’s where you can use your pickaxe, a pair of drills, and the damage increase from the Iron Will perk to regain some health.

4. Elemental Insulation

Elemental Insulation perk gives you a 30% resistance to elemental damage such as poison, radiation, acid, fire, frost, electric, and corrosive.

5. Friendly

If you love explosion, we are sure that you’ve exploded your fellow dwarves before. And that’s not good at all.

With the Friendly perk, the friendly damage is reduced by 50%.

Other perks such as Field Medic, Deep Pockets, Resupplier, Strong Arm, and Thorns are also good for the Driller. So we’d recommend you try various perks and find your best ones.

4 Best Driller Builds & Weapon Loadouts

Here are the four best builds for the Driller in Deep Rock Galactic.

Driller Best Build #1: Face Smelter

The first best build on the list is pretty easy to use. With the flamethrower and the Face Smelter overclock, you can deal significant damage per second within a short amount of time.

Plus, this build causes fire damage, so it’s extremely useful for missions in the Glacial Strata biome or the Mactera creatures since these bugs have almost no fire resistance.

Primary Weapon: CRSPR Flamethrower

  • Overclock: Face Smelter
    • +4 Damage
    • +30% Fuel Flow Rate
    • -3m Flame Reach
    • -15 Tank Size
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – High Capacity Tanks
    • 1 – Unfiltered Fuel
    • 3 – More Fuel
    • 3 – More Fuel
    • 2 – Targets Explode

Secondary Weapon: Subata 120

  • Overclock: Explosive Reload
    • Explosive Reload
    • -120 Max Ammo
    • -6 Magazine Size
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Quickfire Ejector
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Hollow-Point Bullets
    • 2 – Acid-tipped bullets

The Face Smelter build doesn’t require any special tactic to use. You only need to press the Fire button and flame everything up.

The only disadvantage of this build is the short range. But with the secondary weapon, you can snipe long-range enemies and explode them far away.

Driller Best Build #2: Freezing Bullets

While the Face Smelter build focuses on fire damage, Freezing Bullets improves cold damage.

This build is handy for missions in the Magma Core biome, especially for those lava bugs. It helps you freeze enemies faster and instantly kill flying bugs within a second.

You can quickly freeze the Dreadnoughts to make them vulnerable, so your team can deal massive damage to these boss creatures.

Primary Weapon: Cryo Cannon

  • Overclock: Tuned Cooler
    • +1 Freezing Power
    • +10% Flow Rate
    • +0.2 Chargeup Time
    • -88% Pressure Gain Rate
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Faster Turbine Spinup
    • 2 – Overclocked Ejection Turbine
    • 2 – Increased Flow Volume
    • 3 – Larger Reserve Tank
    • 2 – Cold Radiance

Secondary Weapon: Colette Wave Cooker

  • Overclock: Mega Power Supply
    • +100 Magazine Size
    • +3 Rate of Fire
    • -50% Cooling Rate
    • +1s Overheat Duration
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Magnetron Tube
    • 1 – Heat Sink
    • 1 – Densification Ray
    • 1 – Wide Lens Add-on
    • 3 – Exothermic Reactor

On the other hand, the Cryo Cannon is also suitable for large waves of bugs, especially when facing swarmers, explorers, and shredders.

Like the Face Smelter build, the Cryo Cannon isn’t helpful when fighting long-range enemies. That’s why we have the Wave Cooker as a secondary weapon.

Driller Best Build #3: Volatile Goo

Now let’s look at the build for fighting with large and armored enemies such as Empressors, Praetorians, and Dreadnoughts.

Since we focus on the damage, this build reduces the AoE damage of the Corrosive Sludge Pump. Also, as with other Driller builds, the third build isn’t good at long-range either.

Primary Weapon: Corrosive Sludge Pump

  • Overclock: Volatile Impact Mixture
    • +16 Regular Shot Area Damage
    • +48 Charged Shot Area Damage
    • -3 Corrosive DoT Duration
    • -4 Sludge Puddle Duration
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – High Capacity Tanks
    • 3 – Potent Goo Mix
    • 2 – More Goo Canisters
    • 2 – Improved Spooling Mechanism
    • 2 – Fluoroantimonic Acid

Secondary Weapon: Colette Wave Cooker

  • Overclock: Gamma Contamination
    • 25% Chance to irradiate an enemy on hit
    • -1 Beam Damage
    • -50 Magazine Size
    • -50 Shot Width
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Magnetron Tube
    • 1 – Heat Sink
    • 1 – Densification Ray
    • 1 – Wide Lens Add-on
    • 1 – Contagion Transmitter

To fight the Spitball Infector or the Menace, we pick the Wave Cooker.

Overall, this is a good build that can slow your enemy and deal high DPS. So, if you want to watch the bugs suffer, try this one out!

Driller Best Build #4: Wave Clearer

Finally, we have a modified build based on the Volatile build above.

This time, we focus on improving the AoE and increasing the fragments of the Corrosive Sludge Pump. With an insanely slow effect, this build is superior for clearing out large waves of bugs.

Primary Weapon: Corrosive Sludge Pump

  • Overclock: Disperser Compound
    • +6 Charged Shot Fragments
    • +4 Fragment Area Damage
    • -24 Charged Shot Area Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 3 – Air Sensitive Compound
    • 2 – Atomizer Nozzle
    • 2 – More Goo Canisters
    • 1 – Spillback Extension
    • 1 – Protein Disruption Mix

Secondary Weapon: Experimental Plasma Charger

  • Overclock: Persistent Plasma
    • +Persistent Plasma
    • -15 Charged Damage
    • -15 Area Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Larger Battery
    • 2 – Overcharged Plasma Accelerator
    • 1 – Improved Charge Efficiency
    • 2 – High Density Battery
    • 2 – Thin Containment Field

With the corrosive puddles and slow effect from the primary weapon, you can use the Plasma Charger with the Persistent Plasma overclock to increase your DPS even more.

Deep Rock Galactic – 4 Best Engineer Builds: Overclocks, Perks, Loadouts https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-best-engineer-builds/ https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-best-engineer-builds/#respond Sat, 11 Feb 2023 09:51:40 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=36934 Engineer is by far the second-most favorite class in Deep Rock Galactic. Unlike the Scout class, Engineer is a hybrid class with many strong builds and strategies.

In this article, let’s take a look at the top 4 Engineer builds in Deep Rock Galactic!

Recommended Read: How to Use the Hacking Pod in DRG

We’ll cover the most popular Engineer builds, including single target build with significant damage, crowd control builds with enormous AoE damage, elemental damage like electrocute and fire, and a furious build with a high rate of fire. Without further ado, let’s see the list!

Table of contents

Engineer Playstyle

Same as other classes, Engineers have a total of 6 primary and secondary weapons. From a shotgun, or a submachine gun, to a heavy rifle, there is always enough gun to satisfy your play style.

Engineer’s primary weapon:

  • “Warthog” Auto 210
  • “Stubby” Voltaic SMG
  • LOK-1 Smart Rifle

Engineer’s secondary weapon:

  • Deepcore 40mm PGL
  • Breach Cutter
  • Shard Diffractor

Although Engineers can’t travel in the vertical axis fast like Scout class, he has a Platform Gun that can be used to shoot multiple platforms. The platforms work like normal terrain and can even remove fall damage for anyone falling from any height.

If you’re a fan of tower defense playstyle, Engineer also has a flexible Sentry Gun with high damage and range. Even though the sentry gun has limited ammo, you can pick upgrades to increase the ammo capacity or bring up to 2 sentry guns on a mission with you.

With the platforms and sentry guns, Engineer is the best class for any defense mission, not to include his grenades such as LURE, Plasma Burster, Proximity Mine, or Shredder Swarm.

What Overclocks to Use for Engineer

Below are the five best overclocks you should use for the Engineer.

1. “Warthog” Auto 210 – Mini Shells

Although it’s an unstable overclock, Mini Shells give you a lot of ammo, more magazine size, and less recoil. In contrast, the shotgun can’t stun the enemy, and the damage output is slightly lower.

For a detailed and strong Engineer build with this overclock, we have a strong build right below.

2. “Warthog” Auto 210 – Cycle Overload

Cycle Overload makes the shotgun shooter much faster with an extra +1 damage. However, the reload speed is increased by 0.5 seconds, and the base spread is 50% wider.

That said, Cycle Overload works well when you have to fight enemies at close range.

3. “Stubby” Voltaic SMG – Light-Weight Rounds

Light-Weight Rounds overclock is a good trade-off if you’re a fan of Stubby.

With +180 more ammo, you can shoot more bugs. But the downsides are -1 damage and -2 rate of fire.

4. Deepcore 40mm PGL – Fat Boy

Most Unstable overclocks in Deep Rock Galactic heavily weaken your weapons, and so does Fat Boy.

Although Fat Boy reduces 7 max ammo and slows a considerable portion of projectile velocity, each bullet will hit hard with a bigger explosion and deal damage over time in the area.

5. Deepcore 40mm PGL – Clean Sweep

If you hate Fat Boy overclock, Clean Sweep is a good alternative.

With 10 more area damage and a +0.5 radius, your bullet hits harder and can blow up even more bugs simultaneously.

Based on over 300 hours of playing Deep Rock Galactic, engineers rarely use LOK-1, Breach Cutter, or Shard Diffractor. So it’s hard to consider the best overclocks for those 3 weapons.

Instead, you should play around with them and pick the overclock that fits your playstyle the most. Rock and stone!

What Perks to Use for Engineer

Here are five vital perks to use for engineers in Deep Rock Galactic.

1. Beast Master

While the Engineer already has a strong defense system and companions, this perk allows you to tame a small bug with modified stats.

At tier 4, the tamed bug can deal 300% more damage and easily solo Glyphid Praetorians. If you’ve defeated Bet-C, you can have up to 5 companions in a single mission, including Steeve (the tamed bug), Bosco (if you play alone), 2 Sentry Guns, and a powerful Bet-C.

2. Field Medic

Field Medic allows you to instantly revive your teammate once per mission and increase the revival speed by 30% max. As such, this is a go-to perk for every class in DRG!

3. Thorns

Thorns perk can save you a lot of ammo when facing a swarm of Glyphid Spawn, Glyphid Swarmers, Naedocyte Shocker, and Shredders.

At tier 4, Thorns can deal 24 return damage to any bugs that attack you.

4. Unstoppable

If you want to move quickly in some situations like snowstorms, getting webbed, slime terrain, or earthquakes, the Unstoppable perk is the right choice.

Plus, at max tier, this perk helps you carry heavy objects such as Aquarz, Jadiz, Compressed Gold,… 25% faster.

5. Born Ready

Since the Engineer is not as mobile as the Scout class, sometimes you’ll have to reload the weapon in the middle of dangerous waves of bugs.

So, to make your life easier, the Born Ready perk automatically reloads your unequipped weapon after 15-5 seconds, depending on the tier. This perk is handy if you use Breach Cutter.

On the other hand, Resupplier, Friendly, and Second Wind are also good perks. So you should carefully pick perks depending on your next mission and team formation.

4 Best Engineer Builds & Weapon Loadouts

In each build and loadout below, we list the primary and secondary weapons you should use and the required overclocks and modifications for each.

Engineer Best Build #1: Fat Boy

While Fat Boy is an excellent overclock for your grenade launcher, its ammo is significantly decreased. On the other hand, Fat Boy massively increases the damage and radius of the weapon.

This build is suitable for low to medium-range attacks, so it’s best to maintain a reasonable distance between you and the bugs.

Primary Weapon: “Warthog” Auto 210

  • Overclock: Mini Shells
    • +78 Max Ammo
    • +6 Magazine Size
    • -20% Recoil
    • -2 Damage
    • -10% Stun Chance
    • -3s Stun Duration
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Supercharged Feed Mechanism
    • 2 – Loaded Shells
    • 3 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 2 – Bigger Pellets
    • 2 – Miner Adjustments

Secondary Weapon: Deepcore 40mm PGL

  • Overclock: Fat Boy
    • +330 Area Damage
    • +1 Effect Radius
    • -7 Max Ammo
    • -84% Projectile Velocity
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Extra Ammo
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Incendiary Compound
    • 2 – Nails + Tape
    • 2 – Spiky Grenade

Using the Friendly perk is recommended because you will accidentally damage your friends with the radiation damage from the Deepcore 40mm PGL.

Engineer Best Build #2: Frenzy Build

If you want to go crazy with your guns, this frenzy build may satisfy your needs!

You can shoot more and reload faster by picking a short and medium-range weapon with Light-Weight overclocks. Therefore, your DPS is massively increased.

Primary Weapon: “Warthog” Auto 210

  • Overclock: Light-Weight Magazines
    • +18 Max Ammo
    • -0.4s Reload Time
  • Modifications:
    • 1 – Supercharged Feed Mechanism
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 3 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 2 – Bigger Pellets
    • 2 – Miner Adjustments

Secondary Weapon: Breach Cutter

  • Overclock: Light-Weight Cases
    • +3 Max Ammo
    • -0.2s Reload Time
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Quick Deploy
    • 2 – Disruptive Frequency Tuning
    • 2 – Plasma Trail

For tier 5 modification, the Tripple Split Line may be good at first glance. But it only increases the damaged area, not x3 the damage.

This is also a medium-range build, so avoiding range enemies such as Menaces or Spitball Infectors is best.

Engineer Best Build #3: Explosive Loki

If you’re a fan of the smart automatic rifle, this build is a good choice because of its AoE damage with fear effect. Plus, you can land good hits on any heavy enemies with the armor-breaking effect.

Primary Weapon: LOK-1 Smart Rifle

  • Overclock: Explosive Chemical Rounds
    • Explode the enemy with 3 locks
    • -5 Damage
    • -36 Max Ammo
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – CCD Array Add-On
    • 1 – Electro-Chemical Rounds
    • 1 – Shutter Speed Sensor
    • 1 – Electric Generator Mod

Secondary Weapon: Breach Cutter

  • Overclock: Inferno
    • Fire damage
    • -175 Beam DPS
    • x0.25 Armor Breaking
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Quick Deploy
    • 2 – Disruptive Frequency Tuning
    • 2 – Plasma Trail

To maximize the effect of the LOK-1 Smart Rifle overclock, you should only lock enemies with 3 max locks. Then fire and repeat to create massive explosions.

Engineer Best Build #4: Electrocute Storm

This build is for anyone who loves element damage, primarily electric and fire damage.

With the Turret EM Discharge overclock, you can use your turrets to electrocute and fear enemies in a large area.

Primary Weapon: “Stubby” Voltaic SMG

  • Overclock: Turret EM Discharge
    • Turn your turrets into an electric explosion
    • -5 Magazine Size
    • -2 Damage
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Upgraded Capacitors
    • 1 – High Capacity Magazine
    • 2 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 2 – Conductive Bullets
    • 2 – Electric Arc

Secondary Weapon: Deepcore 40mm PGL

  • Overclock: Hyper Propellant
    • +385 Direct Damage
    • +350% Projectile Velocity
    • x0.3 Radius
    • -2 Max ammo
  • Modifications:
    • 2 – Extra Ammo
    • 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
    • 1 – Incendiary Compound
    • 1 – Homebrew Explosive
    • 2 – Spiky Grenade

While the primary weapon is already good for AoE, we pick Deepcore with Hyper Propellant overclock for single-target purposes. This Engineer build is good for Elimination missions and can even one-shot a boss’s stage in Elite Deep Dives.

Besides mining and survival skills, hacking is also important in some missions.

In this article, we’ll show you how to use the hacking pod in Deep Rock Galactic. Let’s hack and stone, brothers!

Recommended Read: What Is Bittergem in Deep Rock Galactic?

To use the hacking pod in Deep Rock Galactic, you need to call it down first by holding the “E” key while looking at the Prospector Data Deposit or Power Stations. Once the hacking pod has landed, you must create a link between the hacking pod and the machines by placing the nodes found inside the hacking pod. When you’ve successfully linked the machines, press “E” again at the hacking pod to start the hacking process.

Table of contents

How to Use the Hacking Pod in Deep Rock Galactic

Let’s see all about hacking pods in Deep Rock Galactic!

Where to Find Hacking Pod?

Currently, you can only use the hacking pod to hack these 2 machines: Prospector Data Deposit and Power Stations.

The Prospector Data Deposit is one of the three rival machines that spawn randomly in all mission types except for the Industrial Sabotage mission.

The spawn chance of the Prospector Data Deposit is not affected by mission length and complexity, so you can run multiple short missions to farm it.

On the other hand, Power Stations are only found in the Industrial Sabotage mission type. And each mission contains exactly 2 Power Stations.

Call the Hacking Pod

Once you have found any machines above, come close to them and hold the “E” key.

After a short time, your order will be placed, and the company will send the Hacking Pod down to Hoxxes.

Remember to check the map with your laser pointer for the Hacking Pod’s landing location. Also, stay away from the landing zone since the Hacking Pod can easily knock you down, just like a Resupply Pod.

Connect the Hacking Pod with Machines using Hacking Nodes

Once landed, you can see one open side in the Hacking Pod. That’s where you can get the nodes.

Press “E” to get the hacking node and your dwarf will carry it with some penalties like slower movement speed, can’t use guns, and laser pointers.

So, it’s recommended to toss the hacking nodes instead of carrying them all the way to the machines. You can do so by holding your left mouse button for a while and release.

Once placed on the ground, each hacking node displays a light green circle around them, indicating the link range.

The first hacking node should be placed near the hacking pod. Then pay attention to the light green circle and place your next hacking node within this range.

Repeat until the machine is within this range of the last hacking node, and you will see an announcement congratulating you on linking the hacking pod successfully.

Any unnecessary hacking nodes will be destroyed at this moment, so make sure to optimize your linking path. Engineer’s platforms or Driller’s tunnels can help a lot with this process!

Now Let’s Start the Hacking Pod

When everything is done, go back to the Hacking Pod (not the Prospector Data Deposit or Power Stations) and prepare your formation.

  • Scout should light up the area around the Hacking Pod
  • Engineer should set up his sentry guns and platforms
  • Gunner should set up his zipline and pick the best location to clear the bugs
  • Driller digs a small tunnel for more spacing

Then look at the Hacking Pod and hold the “E” key to start the hacking process. A cute robot named Hack-C (or Hacksy) will jump out of the Hacking Pod and do its magic for you.

Be careful! Many bugs will start spawning, and their primary target is Hacksy. So, protect the robot at any cost!

If Hacksy is constantly attacked, the hacking process will be interrupted, and the hacking bot will return to its nest.

Don’t panic! Simply clear the bugs out and restart the hacking process by pressing the big button on the Hacking Pod.

Sometimes, enemies like the Exploders or Bulk Detonators can destroy the terrain that has the hacking nodes on them. Besides clearing out the bugs, you have to connect the Hacking Pod and the machines with hacking nodes again, which is extremely painful.

That’s why it’s better to lure those bugs outside of the hacking area.

You can see the hacking process displayed on the top of your screen. Green means it’s hacking, and grey means it’s interrupted.

When the green bar is filled up, it’s time to Rock and Stone!

That’s everything you need to know about how to use the hacking pod in Deep Rock Galactic.

Deep Rock Galactic – What Is Bittergem https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-what-is-bittergem/ https://gamerempire.net/deep-rock-galactic-what-is-bittergem/#respond Thu, 12 Jan 2023 06:50:47 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=38072 The world of Deep Rock Galactic has many mysterious minerals that you can’t find in a single mission.

Today, let’s talk about what Bittergem is in Deep Rock Galactic and what it is used for.

Recommended Read: How to Use Bosco in Deep Rock Galactic

Bittergem is a rare mineral with a distinct pink color. It has a shape like Aquarq or Compressed Gold, so the only way to obtain it is to dig into the wall with pink crystals. When deposited, each Bittergem will be converted into 1000 – 1500 Credits, so it’s totally worth it to mine Bittergem when you have a chance.

Table of contents

What Is Bittergem in Deep Rock Galactic

Bittergem is one of many rare resources in Deep Rock Galactic.

It spawns, like most other rare resources, inside the wall. Bittergem emits a bold pink color with a lot of crystals outside the wall to indicate its spawn location.

So, the best way to notice a Bittergem is to not light up the cave, then look for any pink corners. Error cube also has the same color, so you can hit two birds with one stone.

Bittergem has a 4.76% chance to spawn on any mission type, length, and complexity.

Since the chance is equal to all missions, it’s best to run multiple short missions to look for Bittergems.

What Is Bittergem Used For in Deep Rock Galactic

When you’re done mining Bittergem out of the wall, you can carry it by pressing the “E” key.

This action works the same as when you carry Aquarq, Compressed Gold, or Jadiz. You move much slower, can’t use guns and laser pointers, and so on.

So, remember to call the MULE right before you start mining to save some time. Then just carry Bittergem and deposit it into the MULE.

Each Bittergem will provide 1000 – 1500 units of Bittergem, which can be converted into Credits in a 1:1 ratio. (Compared to a 1:2 ratio for gold)

Currently, Bittergem only has one usage. To deposit into the MULE and get that extra Credits.

However, it’s also fun and boosts your spirit a lot when you found one. So let’s get those specious minerals, miners!

That’s all about what Bittergem is and its usage in Deep Rock Galactic.

How many Bittergems have you found? Let us know in the comment below!
