What is The Main Goal in Don’t Starve Together

Since Don’t Starve Together is a survival game, you may think your goal is to survive as long as possible in the Constant world, right?

That’s correct! You can just stay in one place to survive throughout the years and defeat the giant bosses.

However, DST offers more than that.

While some players have a goal to survive for a number of days or hours (100 days, 200 days, or even 1000 days), others have a variety of ways to set the goal for their playthrough, including:

  • Complete all the quests and defeat all bosses.
  • Build a megabase with different areas and cover the whole map.
  • Have fun with your friends.
  • Or simply just like the title says: “Don’t Starve Together”.

Whenever you do, just enjoy the game. You’ll die a lot and become a ghost, and after each death, you’ll learn something to help you survive longer in the next run.

Don’t Starve Together: The Basics

Here are all the basics you need to know about Don’t Starve Together.

1. Choose a Server and Game Mode

When you start the game, you can create your own server or join existing ones. Either way, you’ll be playing in one of the 5 game modes DST offers:

  • Relaxed
  • Endless
  • Survival
  • Wilderness
  • Light Out

For starter players, we’d recommend playing the Relaxed or Endless mode for an easier survival experience, as you can revive and respawn using the Florid Postern, and the world won’t be reset if all players die (which is the case for Survival game mode).

Wilderness game mode spawns players at random locations, and if a player dies, they will be brought back to the character selection screen to pick a new character.

Lastly, Light Out game mode introduces a world full of darkness in which you have to constantly craft light sources to survive. It’s a challenging yet fun game mode to try.

2. Pick a Character

Once you’ve chosen a game mode, the next step is to pick a character. There are 18 characters in DST, each with a different appearance and abilities.

For a fresh start, consider picking Wilson for a balanced gameplay. You can also check out our guide about which character is best.

3. Basic Controls

After picking a character, you will be brought to the Constant world. Your first goal is to learn the basic hotkeys of the game, including:

  • Movement: W/S/A/D
  • Rotate the camera: Q/E
  • Pickup, harvest, and other actions: Spacebar
  • Fight: F/Ctrl+F
  • Open the scoreboard: Tab
  • Open the console command panel: ~

Remember that you can interact with every object and item using the mouse.

However, it’s best to use the above hotkeys to be more efficient at the game. You only need to use the mouse when moving items around or doing complex actions.

4. The Season System and Day-Night Cycle

Don’t Starve Together has a season system that consists of 4 main seasons: Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer.

By default, Autumn and Spring have 20 days, while Winter and Summer have 15 days. Thus, a year in Don’t Starve Together has 70 days.

Each day in the game lasts for 8 minutes and has 3 phases: day, dusk, and night. The length of each phase depends on the current season, but the total time will always be 8 minutes.

5. Basic Mechanics

Like any other survival game, to keep your character alive, you must keep your health attribute above 0. But it’s not easy, as hunger, sanity, wetness, and temperature attributes can indirectly affect your health.

So, besides eating decent foods to increase your hunger, you must do various activities to keep your character sane, as well as use different elements to reduce the wetness and adjust the temperature.

Moreover, the darkness in this game can kill you, so remember to always have a light source with you.

In addition, hit and run (kiting) is an essential technique in DST, as it allows you to minimize the received damage while saving you a lot of resources to make armor and healing food.

Each monster in DST has an attack cooldown that represents the time between its attacks. To kite in DST, simply hit the monster during its attack cooldown time and run away when it’s about to do the next attack.

How to Survive All 4 Seasons in Don’t Starve Together

When you’re familiar with the game’s concept, let’s learn how to survive the first season!

1. How to Survive Autumn

By default, you start on day 1 in Autumn.

In the first few days, you should explore the map and gather basic resources like Cut Grass, Flints, and Twigs to craft an Axe and Pickaxe.

Then, use your Axe to chop trees for Logs and use a Pickaxe to mine boulders or gold veins for Rocks, Flints, and Gold Nuggets.

By the end of the first day, you must have some Grass and Twigs to make a Torch.

After crafting it, right-click on it to equip it in your hand slot, then you can continue to explore the map and gather more resources during the night.

Remember to pick carrots or berries along the way to eat.

If you decide to stop at night, consider building a Campfire to prevent the darkness and cook your food for a better hunger restoration rate.

As long as you have a Gold Nugget, 4 Logs, and 4 Rocks, make a Science Machine and craft a backpack to get 8 more inventory slots. If you have leftover materials, try to prototype the following recipes:

  • Boards
  • Rope
  • Spear
  • Log Suit
  • Shovel

With a Spear and Log Suit, you’re ready to fight any small monster, including the first hound wave on days 5-6.

You should also explore a large portion of the map by this time. Your next goal is to find a good spot to build a base.

Your base should be near the Pig King and as many worm holes as possible for faster travel across the map.

If possible, prioritize the worm holes over any other criteria because you will spend most of the time running in this game.

You can build and decorate your base however you like, but consider the following:

  • Fire Pit: a permanent fire source to prevent darkness. You need to refuel the Fire Pit with fuel items.
  • Alchemy Engine: a crafting station that allows you to craft most recipes.
  • Ice Boxes: used to preserve food and slow the spoiling process by 2 times.
  • Crock Pots: used to cook food into different useful dishes.
  • Chests: used to store and organize your items.
  • A Bird Cage: used to trade Meat or Monster Meat for Eggs and fruits or vegetables for the corresponding seeds.
  • Drying Racks: used to dry Meat to get Jerkies.

To plan the base’s layout, use a Pitchfork to dig the turfs. Typically, you should dig a 3×3 or 5×5 area and build a Fire Pit in the center tile.

Moreover, Ice Boxes and Crock Pots should be placed near each other so you can access both of them while cooking.

There are many ways to get gears to build Ice Boxes, but beating the Clockwork monsters is the fastest method. However, they’re pretty hard to kite for new players.

To fight Clockwork Knights, hit it 2 times, then run away and repeat the process. For Clockwork Rooks, dodge its charge attack and hit it. For Clockwork Bishops, you must have decent armor to tank their attacks.

Burning trees is the easiest method to get Charcoal to build Crock Pots. But remember to burn the ones far from your home to prevent the fire from spreading, potentially burning your entire base.

Besides the above structures, you should use a Shovel to dig Grass Tufts, Saplings, and Berry Bushes to replant them in your base.

Then, pick some Manures from the Beefalo herds to fertilize the plants. This way, you’ll have a reliable source of basic resources in your base.

In addition, it’s a good idea to start a farm and grow giant crops if you have many players on the team. Tomato and potato are excellent crops to plant in Autumn.

Although walls aren’t worth building because monsters and bosses can easily destroy them, walls can be helpful for fighting the Dragonfly or when you need to capture passive creatures.

Once you have some free time, use a Pickaxe to mine Sinkholes to enter the cave. Then, collect some Light Bulbs to craft Lanterns. These items last longer than a Torch and can be refilled using Light Bulbs.

By day 15, you should have everything ready to survive the following season. Stock up on Rocks and Flints to make a Thermal Stone, and consider building a Tent so you can sleep to restore some health and sanity.

Once you reach day 21, Winter begins.

2. Winter

The most significant change in Winter is the cold temperature that can freeze your character and stop all plants from growing, including the Berry Bushes.

If you’re running out of food, check out this guide to learn how to fish in DST.

Carrying a hot Thermal Stone in your inventory is the best option to beat the freezing weather. Moreover, you can craft and wear warm clothes like a Winter Hat, Beefalo Hat, or Puffy Vest to prevent the temperature from decreasing.

Winter is the season of ice and Walrus Camps, so make sure to mine a few stacks and put them in the Ice Boxes. Ice can then be used as fillers in most cooking recipes or to craft Ice Flingomatic.

On top of that, remember to hunt the MacTusks for their tusks. The MacTusk’s tusk is the main ingredient to craft a Walking Cane, which makes your character run 25% faster when holding.

Since the night in Winter is more extended, your sanity will be constantly reduced, creating a suitable condition for nightmare creatures to spawn.

If you’re not afraid of them, this is a perfect opportunity to farm Nightmare Fuel.

Lastly, Deerclops – the boss of Winter – will spawn near your base on the night of day 30.

For more details about surviving this cold season, check out our guide on how to survive Winter.

3. Spring

Spring starts on day 36. The weather is still cold but not freezing as in Winter, so keeping the Thermal Stone with you is recommended.

Rain and lightning strikes is the specialty of Spring.

If you manage to beat the Deerclops in Winter, you can use its eye to craft an Eyebrella to avoid wetness. If not, you can always use alternative items like an Umbrella and a Rain Coat.

To prevent lightning strikes, build a Lightning Rod in the middle of your base. Each rod can only cover a 10×10 area, so if you have a big base, remember to build multiple rods.

Plants also grow faster in Spring, so starting a giant Dragonfruit farm is ideal. You may also want to spend time planting flowers and finding the Lunar Island this season.

Moose/Goose also spawns in Spring, but fighting this boss is optional. For more details, check out our guide on what to do in the Spring.

4. Summer

Summer starts on day 56 and ends on day 70.

Opposite to Winter, Summer has a high temperature that can make your character overheat, dealing damage over time.

The high temperature also allows all objects around the player to catch wildfires.

To prevent the intense temperature, consider traveling underground to discover the Ruins or building the Ice Flingomatic to extinguish the fire.

Besides the temperature, Summer introduces a new boss who can destroy your base and leave painful sinkholes everywhere. To prevent this, check out this guide to beat the Antlion.

We also have a detailed guide on how to survive the Summer, so check that out!

5. The Next Year

If you manage to survive a whole year in DST, congratulations! From now on, the season cycle will just repeat.

However, from the second Autumn onward, the boss of Autumn – Bearger – will spawn and disturb you.

For players who have the goal of defeating all the bosses in DST, you have a long way to go. You can beat any boss in any order you like, except for:

  • Ancient Fuelweaver: You must first defeat the Shadow Pieces and Ancient Guardian to spawn this boss.
  • Celestial Champion: you need to complete Crabby Hermit’s quests and use her pearl to summon and defeat the Crab King first. After which, you’ll get Inactive Celestial Tribute, one of the items to summon the Celestial Champion.

Once you’ve achieved your goal, you may challenge yourself with a different game mode or a new character. Also, you may want to install mods to vary the gameplay and extend the game’s content even more.

Don’t Starve Together – What Is the Best Armor? https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-what-is-the-best-armor/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-what-is-the-best-armor/#respond Thu, 28 Sep 2023 11:49:00 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=56526 In Don’t Starve Together, armor is the best equipment to increase your chance of survival, as it prevents a considerable amount of incoming damage.

However, you can only equip a maximum of 3 pieces of armor at a time, even though the game offers quite a few.

In this guide, we’ll discuss what the best armor in Don’t Starve Together is so you can pick the one that suits you the most.

Recommended Read: How to Survive the Summer in DST

We’ve taken several criteria into consideration when choosing what armor is the best: Protection Value, Durability, Craftability, and Special Effects.

Based on these criteria, our picks for the best pieces of armor in Don’t Starve Together are the Log Suit, Football Helmet, Thulecite Crown, Thulecite Suit, Marble Suit, Night Armor, Shield of Terror, Bone Armor, Dreadstone Helm, and Dreadstone Armor.

Table of Contents

What Is the Best Armor in Don’t Starve Together

Although armor can only save you from physical and planar damage, wearing just a piece of armor is extremely useful because it reduces the incoming damage by a percentage, not a nominal value.

To determine the best armor in Don’t Starve Together, we use the below criteria:

  • Protection Value: the damage reduction percentage. The higher this value is, the better.
  • Durability: health point of an armor. The higher, the better.
  • Crafting Recipe: if the materials are easy to obtain and the crafting process isn’t complicated, the armor gains a point.
  • Special Effect: in most cases, armor pieces with a positive aura or don’t have one are better than those with a negative aura.

An armor that requires a chest slot will force your character to drop the backpack, which is a massive inconvenience for some players. However, it’s how the game works, so we won’t include this in the criteria list.

Overall, the best armor should be easy to craft, has high durability and high protection value, and can be used by most characters without penalties.

1. Log Suit (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 80%
  • Durability: 315
  • Crafting Recipe: 8 Logs and 2 Ropes | Science Machine
  • Special Effect: receives 17 additional damage from Werebeaver

Log Suit is the best armor in the game’s early days. It has high protection value and average durability, making it ideal for blocking most attacks from the enemy above the ground.

By chopping a few trees and collecting six pieces of grass, you can easily craft this armor to prepare for the first hound wave by day 6.

The only downside of the Log Suit is it takes more damage from Woodie’s Werebeaver form. However, if you’re not playing on a PvP server, this armor has zero weakness.

2. Football Helmet (Head Slot)

  • Protection: 80%
  • Durability: 315
  • Crafting Recipe: 1 Pig Skin and 1 Rope | Alchemy Engine
  • Special Effect: none

With the same protection and durability value, the Football Helmet is the second-best armor to use in the early days of DST.

Although the values resemble a Log Suit, a Football Helmet requires a Pig Skin and an Alchemy Engine station to craft.

While you can get Pig Skins by defeating some pigs or breaking pig houses, crafting an Alchemy Engine is another story. It’s time-consuming but not too challenging to obtain this head armor.

3. Thulecite Crown (Head Slot)

  • Protection: 90%
  • Durability: 840
  • Crafting Recipe: 4 Thulecites and 4 Nightmare Fuels | Fully repaired Ancient Pseudoscience Station
  • Special Effect: 33% chance of preventing all damage and stun for 4 seconds

Besides high protection and durability values, Thulecite Crown has a 33% chance of creating a force field around the player to block all damage. However, this ability lasts only 4 seconds and has a 9-second cooldown.

Thulecite Crown has no significant downside, as you’re already nearly invincible with the 90% damage reduction without its ability.

The challenging part here is to find enough materials and repair the Ancient Pseudoscience Station to be able to craft this head armor. So, find the Ruins and start collecting Thulecites.

4. Thulecite Suit (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 90%
  • Durability: 1260
  • Crafting Recipe: 6 Thulecites and 4 Nightmare Fuels | Fully repaired Ancient Pseudoscience Station
  • Special Effect: provides 3.3 sanity points per minute

Thulecite Suit has the same protection value as the Crown but possesses higher durability, allowing you to tank more hits in boss battles.

Its special effect isn’t significant compared to the Crown, and you can’t wear this armor piece simultaneously with your backpack. Still, it’s the armor with the highest durability.

5. Marble Suit (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 95%
  • Durability: 735
  • Crafting Recipe: 6 Marbles and 2 Ropes | Alchemy Engine
  • Special Effect: reduces 30% movement speed

Marble Suit is one of the two best armor pieces with the highest protection value. In addition, its durability is above average, and the required crafting materials are relatively cheap (assuming you know how to farm marbles).

The biggest drawback of the Marble Suit is the reduction in movement speed, making it harder or nearly impossible to hit and run for some fights.

Nevertheless, this negative effect can be removed entirely if you play as mighty Wolfgang or decide to tank a group of enemies.

6. Night Armor (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 95%
  • Durability: 525
  • Crafting Recipe: 5 Nightmare Fuels and 3 Papyrus | Shadow Manipulator
  • Special Effect: reduces 10 sanity points per minute and reduces sanity by another 10% of taken damage

Besides the high protection value (95% is the highest in the game), Night Armor has a lot of weaknesses.

First, it has average durability, making it unsuitable for a long fight. Secondly, its crafting recipe is quite complicated, as you need to gather a lot of Nightmare Fuels and other materials to craft the Shadow Manipulator.

Finally, it has a huge negative sanity aura. So, it may not be the best armor for players afraid of shadow creatures.

That said, we list this armor here because it best fits Wanda. In middle age, Wanda only receives a third of the sanity effect from the armor. While in old age, she cannot suffer from the aura anymore.

7. Shield of Terror (Hand Slot)

  • Protection: 80%
  • Durability: 315
  • Crafting Recipe: can’t be crafted
  • Special Effect: is a weapon and can be repaired with food

Shield of Terror is the most unique armor in Don’t Starve Together. You can’t craft it but only receive it by defeating the Twins of Terror.

While the obtaining process, durability, and protection value aren’t that impressive, Shield of Terror is a hand armor/weapon. This means you can equip it in your hand to fight enemies like other weapons and also receive a damage reduction simultaneously.

On top of that, you can repair it with food items. The repaired value varies based on the absolute value of health and hunger the food provides.

Remember that the shield will break if it reaches 0 durability, so wearing other armor pieces is recommended to share the damage.

8. Bone Armor (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 100%
  • Durability: 16 uses
  • Crafting Recipe: can’t be crafted
  • Special Effect: creates a shield to block one damage instance every 5 seconds

Although Bone Armor has a 100% damage reduction, its unique mechanic makes this number fluctuate. Therefore, 95% damage reduction from the Marble Suit and Night Armor is still considered consistent and highest in DST.

Every 5 seconds, the Bone Armor creates a shield to block an instance of damage. No matter how much the damage is, the shield will always break.

So, using the Bone Armor in boss fights (Shadow Rook or Toadstool) is best to nullify their power attacks.

This armor piece only drops from the Ancient Fuelweaver, so getting one may be challenging. Moreover, Bone Armor only has 16 uses, meaning you can only nullify 16 attacks.

For longer fights, you can refuel the armor with Nightmare Fuel or collect multiple pieces of Bone Armor and use them interchangeably in succession.

9. Dreadstone Helm (Head Slot)

  • Protection: 90% and 5 planar defense
  • Durability: 840
  • Crafting Recipe: 4 Dreadstones and 4 Pure Horrors | Recipe unlocked after defeating the Nightmare Werepig
  • Special Effect: reduces 5-20 sanity points per minute and passively restores durability based on sanity

Dreadstone Helm is one of the newest pieces of armor in DST.

It has high protection value with additional planar defense, high durability, and a unique effect that involves both durability and sanity.

Specifically, the sanity reduction rate of the helmet is determined by its durability and whether the player is wearing a Dreadstone Armor. The sanity reduction rate is lowest when the helmet is at 100% durability, and you wear a Dreadstone Armor.

Dreadstone Helm also restores its durability based on your sanity and whether the player is wearing a Dreadstone Armor. It restores 1% durability if your sanity is full and you wear a Dreadstone Armor.

10. Dreadstone Armor (Chest Slot)

  • Protection: 90%
  • Durability: 840
  • Crafting Recipe: 6 Dreadstones and 4 Pure Horrors | Recipe unlocked after defeating the Nightmare Werepig
  • Special Effect: same as the Dreadstone Helm

If you’re using the Dreadstone Helm, consider crafting the Dreadstone Armor for a complete set.

Not only do these two armor pieces repair themselves faster, but they also decrease the sanity reduction rate when worn. Moreover, you look pretty cool in this armor set!

To survive the summer in Don’t Starve Together, you must learn the various ways to decrease your character’s temperature to prevent overheating. You can live in the oasis or travel underground to escape the Summer heat. You should also pay close attention to wildfires and extinguish them before they spread. Lastly, you have to deal with the Antlion boss before it destroys your base.

How to Survive the Summer in Don’t Starve Together

In contrast to Winter, Summer in DST has longer days and shorter nights. This creates the conditions for the sun to cast its heat into the Constant world.

Summer starts on day 56 and lasts for 15 days, meaning you will have plenty of time to prepare to avoid the intense heat.

Without further ado, let’s learn all the things that happen in the Summer and how to deal with them!

1. The Change to Temperature

As Summer approaches, you’ll notice a sudden color change in the world. Everything is now orange-ish, and the temperature is constantly increasing.

Your character will repeatedly take damage if overheated. Here are ways to cool yourself down in the Summer:

Hide Under a Tree

In the first few Summer days, when the temperature is still low, you can hide under the trees to temporarily reduce your temperature.

This method can be used with other methods below to decrease the temperature faster.

Use Cooling Items

Thermal Stone is the best item to modify your character’s temperature, whether you’re cold or hot.

You can put it in an Ice Box to cool it down, then put it in your inventory to prevent the heat completely. However, the cold Thermal Stone won’t last forever and will return to its normal condition after roughly half a day.

You can build multiple Ice Boxes across the map as transit stations. That is, however, not an optional solution because Ice Boxes aren’t cheap to make.

Instead, try finding Chester and filling its inventory with Blue Gems. Then, wait for the next full moon for it to transform into a Snow Chester. Now you have a cute mobile ice box.

Besides Thermal Stone, many other items, such as an Eyebrella, Pretty Parasol, Umbrella, Floral Shirt, Chilled Amulet, or Moon Caller’s Staff, can cool your character.

Among them, Eyebrella stands out the most because of its versatility and crafting requirements, assuming you know how to beat the Deerclops.

A single Eyebrella should keep you safe from the Summer heat. If not, you can always use it with other methods listed here.

Build Cooling Structures

Endothermic Fire and Endothermic Fire Pit are other versions of the Campfire and Fire Pit. Instead of providing heat, they decrease the surrounding temperature.

Although the building and fueling process is the same as normal heat sources, you can’t cook food using those Endothermic fire sources.

Unless you have a base to set up a permanent Endothermic Fire Pit, it will become frustrating having to build a new Endothermic Fire every minute to cool the temperature down.

This experience is the same as you need to constantly build a new Campfire in the Winter. It consumes a lot of resources and time.

The Siesta Lean-to is an excellent structure to avoid the heat during the day phase. It restores your health and sanity but consumes your hunger when used, just like a Tent.

The only difference here is the Tent only allows you to sleep during dusk and night, while the Siesta Lean-to allows you to sleep during the day.

For both the Endothermic Fire and Siesta Lean-to, you can pre-build them for immediate use in dangerous situations.

Other Things to Note

Some food items have the ability to cool the temperature of your character when eaten. The reduction happens per second and varies based on the food.

For example, eating Ice decreases your character’s temperature by 5.33 per second for 7.5 seconds, resulting in a total of 40 degrees reduction.

Here’s the full list of cooling foods:

Food NameEffectDuration
Fruit MedleyDecrease 1 degrees per second.5 seconds
WatermelonDecrease 40 degrees.5 seconds
AsparagazpachoDecrease 20 degrees.5 minutes
IceDecrease 5.33 degrees per second.7.5 seconds
Banana Pop/Ceviche/MelonsicleDecrease 1 degrees per second.10 seconds
Frozen Banana Daiquiri/Ice CreamDecrease 1 degrees per second.15 seconds

Wilson, Weeber, and Woodie may overheat faster in the Summer because of their beards. So, remember to shave your beard regularly in the Summer if you play one of these characters.

2. Wildfires

The heat in the Summer not only affect your character but also the surrounding environment and structures. This means the plants, the trees, and even your houses can ablaze.

Also, hound waves in the Summer contain Fire Hounds. These creatures create a massive wave of flame, potentially burning your entire house within a minute.

So, to prevent wildfires from the above causes, you must build the Ice Flingomatic to extinguish the fire.

Each machine costs 2 Gears, 15 Ice, and 2 Electrical Doodads, which is not cheap. That’s why saving these resources earlier is a must if you choose to live in your base in the Summer.

Once you build the Ice Flingomatic, add fuel (Logs, Twigs, Rots, etc. ) and turn it on. With full fuel, an Ice Flingomatic can last up to 5 days.

Because the Summer only lasts 15 days, you only need to refuel the machine 2-3 times. And remember to build the Ice Flingomatic in the center of your base to cover all of your structures.

You can also use Water Balloons or a Luxury Fan to extinguish the fire. Remember to use the Fan cautiously because it can destroy non-permanent fire sources immediately.

Extinguishing the fire with your bare hand is another great option. You lose some health points (except Willow), but your base will be saved.

3. Food Situation in the Summer

Since food items spoil 25% faster in the Summer, consider using Bundling Wraps to keep your food fresh.

However, this unique item can only be unlocked via the blueprint obtained from killing the Bee Queen or opening the Klaus’ Loot Stash.

So, if you’re struggling with the bosses, try hunting for meat and foraging for plants instead.

The heat also affects food items, making the drying process faster. This makes Summer a great season for drying food, especially Jerky.

Regarding vegetables, most plants don’t grow in the Summer, except for Cactus. They can grow normally in all seasons and provide Cactus Flowers if harvested in the Summer.

These flowers and Cactus Flesh provide significant hunger and health, allowing you to survive throughout the season.

You can still grow giant crops in the Summer. But remember to put more effort into watering the ground, as its moisture will decrease over time.

4. The Oasis Base

If you don’t have enough materials to make the Ice Flingomatic, find the desert biome where the Oasis Lake is located.

All plants and structures in this biome are safe from wildfires, making it ideal for building a temporary base with fewer resources.

Before you go, bring basic resources and materials to build an Ice Box, a few Chests, Crockpots, Fishing Rods, and an Endothermic Fire Pit.

Building your second base next to the lake is recommended for fishing, as you can get fish to fill your hunger and Crumpled Packages for various trinkets and Desert Goggles blueprints.

The Desert Goggles help you travel faster in the sandstorms in the desert during Summer, reducing the time needed to gather materials and Cactus Flowers.

5. The Underground Journey

Although the above methods are the traditional ways to survive the Summer, some players (including us) choose an unintended yet beneficial way to spend Summer in DST.

Believe it or not, you can’t overheat while in the cave. Not sure if it’s a bug because you can still freeze down here but not overheat. However, this feature still exists after several updates.

So, not only does traveling underground completely remove the heat, but it also opens opportunities to discover the underground map, as well as giving you some time to find the Ruins and other resources.

To prepare for the underground journey, you must gather as many resources as possible, including Logs, Grass, Twigs, Rocks, Flints, Gold Nuggets, weapons, armor, and especially health-restoring and sanity-restoring food.

The goal for the underground journey varies.

If you’re new to the game, just stay near the cave entrance and try to survive the Summer.

Otherwise, veteran players use this time to explore the map, defeat the Ancient Guardian, and repair the Ancient Pseudoscience Station to craft mid-game items, such as The Lazy Explorer, Thulecite Crown/Club/Suit, Star Caller’s Staff, and most importantly, Deconstruction Staff.

6. Boss of the Summer

When you’re familiar with the heat and wildfires of the Summer, Antlion is another risk you must pay attention to.

Although Antlion can’t walk and stay in one place in the desert biome, it still can destroy your base by creating sinkholes.

These holes are super annoying, as they destroy everything built on them, slow your character, and stay there for another 30 days before disappearing.

To find the Antlion, scour the desert biome. If you see sandstorms, then the boss is nearby.

Once you find the boss, you must contribute items or trinkets to delay its ability. Each given item has a different delay time, but using Rocks, Cut Stones, or any left-over trinkets is recommended.

Each Rock delays the disturbance time by 0.33 days, while a Cut Stone delays roughly 1 day. This number can’t exceed 6, so you must only contribute 18 Rocks or 6 Cut Stones for each visit.

Besides contributing, you can beat the Antlion to completely remove its disturbances.

Otherwise, if you’re afraid of the boss, just immediately run away from your base when you hear the ground shaking and your character says weird lines about the ground.

7. Prepare for the Next Season

Congratulations on surviving the Summer in Don’t Starve Together!

Though, it’s not over. The consequences of the Summer are still there. Go around your base to check for missing structures and rebuild if needed.

Besides cleaning up your base, be prepared for the boss of Autumn – Bearger.

That’s how to survive the Summer in Don’t Starve Together!

Don’t Starve Together – All Console Commands List https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-all-console-commands-list/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-all-console-commands-list/#respond Sun, 24 Sep 2023 14:06:23 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=55911 In Don’t Starve Together, commands allow you to do pretty much anything you want. From spawning items to teleporting to a specific object, all can be done by a single line of code.

Sometimes, you can’t just remember all the commands in the game or specific parameters, making the debugging process take longer than expected.

Don’t Starve Together – List of All Bosses https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-list-of-all-bosses/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-list-of-all-bosses/#respond Tue, 19 Sep 2023 07:43:25 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=55108 In Don’t Starve Together, bosses are epic monsters with high damage, powerful attacks, and a high insanity aura.

Unlike normal monsters, some bosses even have the ability to destroy any structures, including walls built by players.

Recommended Read: DST – Complete Farming Guide

Defeating DST bosses has several benefits, including valuable items, blueprints, and a sense of progression and completion for each boss defeated.

In this guide, we give you the list of all bosses in Don’t Starve Together and briefly explain them, including their health points and some tips for each.

Table of Contents

List of All Bosses in Don’t Starve Together

In Don’t Starve Together, many bosses, besides the seasonal bosses, require you to initiate the fight manually. The game has no clear progression line, so you can fight most bosses whenever and in any order you want.

Instead of sorting all bosses in DST by health or name, we’ll try to list them in the order that you should face them if played normally.

We also include the boss’s health in round brackets so you can get an overall idea of the difficulty.

1. Treeguard (2,100 – 3,750)

In the first days of resource gathering in Don’t Starve Together, you may come across Treeguards if you chop too many trees.

Transformed from a tree, Treeguard’s health varies from 2100 to 3750 with severe damage, ranging from 34.65 to 61.875 when attacking players and nearly triple when attacking mobs.

Besides beating Treeguard, planting tree cones to calm it down is a good idea. Later in the game, you can use Treeguards to beat other creatures, such as Pigs and Bearger.

2. Deerclops (4,000)

Deerclops is the first seasonal boss the players must fight to protect their base.

For newcomers, dealing with Deerclops unprepared is pretty tough, especially with its ability to destroy structures.

On top of that, Deerclops is the boss of Winter, meaning you have to gather enough resources to survive in the cold weather and defeat the boss simultaneously.

When you’re familiar with the game’s concept, Deerclops is not a boss anymore but a source of Eyeball.

3. Moose/Goose (6,000)

Moose/Goose is the boss of Spring in Don’t Starve Together.

Although it’s one of the seasonal bosses and may actively attack you, nothing will happen as long as you stay away from it.

However, to progress further into the game and defeat the Ancient Fuelweaver more quickly, it’s recommended to beat the Moose/Goose for its feathers to craft Weather Pains.

4. Lord of Fruit Flies (1,500)

By the time you reach the Spring season, you may already know how to start a farm and grow giant crops.

When you have more than 14 fully grown crops within 1.5 tiles, Lord of the Fruit Flies will spawn and immediately attack the crops’ owner.

This boss fight isn’t that challenging, as the Fruit Flies boss only has 1,500 health points and 25 damage. It also drops a Friendly Fruit Fly Fruit on death, spawning a Friendly Fruit Fly that will take care of all your farm plants.

5. Antlion (6,000)

Summer in DST is also challenging with the highest temperature and random wildfires. Surviving is hard enough, yet you must deal with another seasonal boss, Antlion.

This boss spawns in the desert biome and can destroy a large portion of your base without actually moving.

You have 2 options to deal with the Antlion:

  • Contribute trinkets to delay its disturbances.
  • Or simply beat it to save some resources.

Alternatively, you can just ignore the boss but must pay close attention to its disturbances.

If your character says weird lines about the ground, immediately run away from your base to minimize the damage.

6. Bearger (6,000)

In the first Autumn, there is no boss. However, from the second one onward, Bearger will spawn to disturb the players and destroy their base.

Bearger is relatively easy to deal with, like any other seasonal boss, as it has no special moves besides the cute yawning.

However, we suggest using honey to lure it away from your base, letting it hibernate through the seasons, and using it to farm logs and other resources when needed.

7. Ancient Guardian (10,000)

So, you have beaten all four seasonal bosses in Don’t Starve Together; let’s go underground!

The first ever boss you want to encounter in the cave is the Ancient Guardian, spawned deep inside the Ruins.

The boss has 10,000 health points, 2 phases, and a new fighting technique compared to hitting and running like other previous bosses. Basically, you need to dodge its charge attack and hit it when it’s stunned.

Besides providing great Thulecite rewards, Ancient Guardian also drops an Ancient Key, allowing you to summon another boss to reset the Ruins.

8. Shadow Pieces (800 – 10,000)

To discover more content in DST, you must learn how to beat the Shadow Pieces.

First of all, the spawning process of Shadow Pieces is time-consuming, as you have to gather Suspicious Marbles (Beefalo recommended), repair the Marble Sculptures, wait for a new moon, and mine the sculptures.

On top of that, these 3 creatures are pretty annoying to deal with, and they can level up if any of them is beaten.

For example, they’re all first spawn at level 1 with 800 – 1,000 health points and only have 20 – 45 damage.

As one piece is down, the remaining pieces level up with 2,500 – 4,000 health and 35 – 100 damage. Once you beat another piece, the last piece level up again with 7,500 – 10,000 health and 60 – 165 damage.

As you can see, it’s essential to focus on only 1 piece and fight in the correct order to significantly reduce the battle’s difficulty. Knight, Bishop, and Rook is the most straightforward order for fighting Shadows Pieces.

9. Reanimated Skeleton (4,000/4,000/16,000)

Reanimated Skeleton is your next boss after Ancient Guardian and Shadow Pieces.

Like Shadow Pieces, Reanimated Skeleton has a complex spawning and fighting process, which you can find more details here.

The boss has 3 variants, but the one worth mentioning is the Ancient Fuelweaver, which is the strongest and provides the most valuable rewards.

In addition, defeating the Ancient Fuelweaver causes the Ruins to destabilize, regenerating most biome resources underground, including the Ancient Guardian.

10. Nightmare Werepig (10,000)

Traveling underground long enough, you may find a giant Werepig chained by three marble pillars, asking for freedom.

Although this boss fight is optional, it’s a great source to farm Pure Horror and Dreadstone to craft Dreadstone gears. So, remember to visit Nightmare Werepig when you have the chance.

11. Crab King (20,000 – 95,000)

To progress further into the game, Crab King is your next objective.

You have to socket 9 gems to its shell to summon the boss. And to fight the next boss, the Celestial Champion, one gem must be a Pearl’s Pearl.

It’s difficult because the Crab King’s health, abilities, resistance, and healing increase with each gem type socketed. And Pearl’s Pearl counts as 3 of each color, equivalent to 18 gems socketed.

Moreover, you must fight this boss on a boat, not on land like other bosses. This makes the fight even more complicated and becomes an absolute nightmare for newcomers and intermediate players.

12. Celestial Champion (10,000/13,000/22,500)

Celestial Champion is considered the final boss in the game. Unlike seasonal bosses, you can choose to fight with this celestial threat whenever you want.

By doing a series of quests, including defeating the Crab King with Pearl’s Pearl socketed, experimenting with Wagstaff, and building structures on the Lunar Island, you’re one step closer to the end-game content.

Celestial Champion has 3 phases, each with different health points and abilities, so be fully prepared for the fight.

13. Klaus (15,000 normal/41,160 enraged)

Klaus is an optional boss in the Winter that can be summoned by inserting a Deer Antler into the Loot Stash spawned randomly in the Deciduous Forest or Mosaic biomes.

The boss has 2 phases and can become enraged if you beat its deers or separate them away from it. The enraged form significantly boosts Klaus’ health and damage.

For some players, Klaus is a gold mine, as beating it provides a lot of valuable rewards, such as Krampus Sacks, Deerclops Eyeballs, Dragonfly’s Scales, Bee Queen Crowns, Shroom Skins, Royal Jellies, Malbatross Bills, and more.

14. Dragonfly (27,500)

Dragonfly used to be the boss of the Summer in DST before the appearance of Antlion.

Its high HP, damage, and the ability to summon minions make Dragonfly one of the most challenging boss fights in the game.

On top of that, Dragonfly can become enraged, doubling its damage and significantly increasing its speed and attack range.

To fight this boss properly, consider using a Pan Flute and setting up stone walls to prevent the Lavaes.

15. Bee Queen (22,500)

Spawned from a giant hive, Bee Queen is another difficult boss in DST that can make most players rage quit.

She has high HP and can summon dozens of Grumble Bees to assist in battle.

The Bee Queen also leaves a trail of honey to slow you down, making the whole fighting experience feel like a torment.

Besides normally beating her, you can feed Bunnymen and have them equipped with Beekeeper Hat to reduce 80% damage from all bees.

Alternatively, if you aim to get Bundling Wraps, Royal Jellies, or Bee Queen Crowns, consider fighting Klaus instead.

16. Eye of Terror (5,000)

Eye of Terror is another unique boss in DST referencing the Eye of Cthulhu from Terraria.

You must find the Terrarium and activate it at night to summon the boss. Instead of using the hit-and-run technique like other normal giants, you must dodge its charge attack and destroy its eggs before they can hatch.

The boss will run away the following day and restore 250 HP if you let it rest for a complete night, so if you can’t finish the fight in a single night, try re-summon it the night after.

17. Twins of Terror (10,000 each)

Twins of Terror is the upgraded version of the Eye of Terror boss in both quality and quantity aspects.

By fueling the Terrarium with Nightmare Fuel and activating it at night, Retinazor and Spazmatism will be awakened, possessing the same abilities as Eye of Terror.

Retinazor focuses on spawning Suspicious Peepers, while Spazmatism makes the charge attack more often. They also have a second phase, activated if their combined health is below 7,000.

18. Malbatross (5,000)

Malbatross is an optional boss you may find when traveling across the ocean.

While its health isn’t that much compared to other bosses, most players may struggle to fight it because of the disadvantages when fighting on boats.

Besides Crab King, we rarely fight this ocean boss, as its reward isn’t impressive. However, if you want a stronger rowing tool and faster sails for your boats, consider giving Malbatross a fight.

19. Spider Queen (2,500)

As you survive long enough in the Constant, you may notice those Spider Dens keep growing bigger and bigger. At tier 3, they can spawn a Spider Queen boss whenever you’re close.

Spider Queen has only 2,500 HP, which is considered low for a boss. However, she has decent damage and the ability to summon different types of spiders to assist her in battle.

In most cases, you don’t need to summon and fight Spider Queen for any reason besides gathering Spiderhats.

20. Toadstool (52,500 normal/99,999 misery)

Toadstool is the boss with the highest HP in the entire game. It has 2 variants, each with a different amount of HP, damage, defense, and loot rewards.

Besides being the ultimate challenge for veteran players, Toadstool is the main source of Shroom Skins and Mushroom Lights.

These light sources can last up to 60 days, providing reliable lighting for your base in the end-game stage.

Alternatively, you can get those rewards by opening the Loot Stash after defeating Klaus.

Don’t Starve Together – Farming Guide: How to Farm https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-farming-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-farming-guide/#respond Sat, 16 Sep 2023 11:29:53 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=55237 There’s no doubt that farming is one of the best methods to create a sustainable food source in Don’t Starve Together.

Upon the removal of the Basic and Advanced Farm structure, which makes the farming process a lot harder, learning how to farm is essential to keep yourself alive in the Constant world.

Recommended Read: Don’t Starve Together – Nightmare Werepig Guide

This guide will cover the farming guide in Don’t Starve Together, including how to create a farm, how to farm plants (normal and giant crops), how farming works, how to water plants, and discuss what crops you should farm.

Table of Contents

How to Create a Farm

To start farming in Don’t Starve Together, you’ll need:

  • Garden Digamajig: used to plow farm soil turfs.
  • Garden Hoe/Splendid Garden Hoe: used to till farm soil turfs to create farm soil.
  • Watering Can/Waterfowl Can: used to water farm soil turfs to increase ground moisture.
  • Gardeneer Hat: used to research the crops and check the stress. This item is optional if you’re familiar with all the farming concepts.
  • Shovel: used to dig Garden Detritus.
  • Birdcage and Bird Trap: used to capture a bird to exchange crops for the corresponding seeds.
  • Ice Boxes (Optional): used to make seeds and crops last longer.
  • Beefalo Horn/Pan Flute/One-man Band (Optional): used to take care of the crops. Although you can do this by hand or with the help of the Friendly Fruit Fly, using items is advisable as it’s much quicker.

Once you have all the required tools and materials, here is how to create a farm!

First, pick your preferred farming location and use a Garden Digamajig to create one farm soil turf. Each Garden Digamajig can be used 4 times, so use it to create a 2×2 area of farm soil turf.

Next, equip a Shovel and dig all Garden Detritus in your farm soil turfs.

Then, equip a Garden Hoe and till the farm soil turf to create farm soil. For the best efficiency and aesthetic, it’s recommended to till 9 farm soils in a single farm soil turf.

If done correctly, you’ll have 4 farm soil turfs and 36 farm soils. If it’s too hard to till the soil, use this Geometric Placement mod.

There are multiple layouts for farming in Don’t Starve Together, and the 2×2 layout above is one of the best layouts since it allows you to grow most crops with minimal space.

Depending on your preferred crops and available lands, you may want to create a 1×2 or 2x2x4 area divided by normal dirt tiles to grow your crops.

For different farming layouts, check out this post created by u/CuteLittleMine.

In the below sections, we’ll use the 2x2x4 layout for reference and only focus on a single 2×2 layout.

How to Farm Plants in DST

Once you have the farm soils, it’s time to sow seeds!

When you first start farming in DST, you don’t have specific seeds just yet. Therefore, you can’t grow your preferred crops at this moment.

So, just start with normal seeds. Run around and wait for the birds to drop some. Then, select the seeds in your inventory and left-click on farm soils to plant them.

Currently, there are 14 different farm plants and 4 weeds in Don’t Starve Together.

You’ll get a random plant in the list above by planting seeds. The chance to get specific crop seeds may vary depending on the current season.

For example, a seed has a 13.2% chance to become a potato seed in Autumn but only has a 7.9% chance in Summer.

To eliminate the randomness, you must feed the bird captured in your Birdcage with your desired crops. For example, feeding potatoes to the bird will give you potato seeds in return.

As mentioned, seeds don’t just grow into normal plants but also have a 20% chance of becoming weeds.

In most cases, you must remove the weeds to reduce your plants’ stress. If you’re aiming to grow giant crops, then removing weeds is a must.

Otherwise, you can farm Forget-Me-Lots weed to make Soothing Tea. This is a great food source to restore sanity over time.

Understand Plants

Plants in DST have 5 stages:

  • Seeds
  • Sprout
  • Small
  • Medium
  • Grown

Each plant has its favorite season, which affects the growth rate and chance to obtain from normal seeds when planting.

Moreover, each plant consumes a different amount of water and produces and consumes ground nutrients (Compost, Manure, and Super Growth Formula) in each stage.

The table below shows all the plants and weeds in DST, including the chance to obtain them in each season, their favorite season (marked with bold), their ground nutrients production and consumption, and the water consumption rate (per second).

Remember that the ground nutrient and water values are per plant and stage.

So, if you plant 9 potato seeds in a single farm soil turf, they will consume 0.0075 * 9 = 0.0675 units of water per second.

They also produce 2 * 9 * 4 = 72 (a plant has 5 stages, but you don’t need to do anything at the final stage besides harvesting) Compost and Super Growth Formula and consume 4 * 9 * 4 = 144 Manure.

Understanding the plant’s needs is essential, as failing to provide one will give your plant 1 stress point.

Before learning about stress points and their effect on your plant, let’s learn about ground attributes first!

Ground Attributes

So, where do the plants get the water and ground nutrients from? The answer is from the farm soil turf.

Each farm soil turf has 2 main attributes:

1. Ground Nutrients

Ground Nutrients contain Compost, Manure, and Super Growth Formula.

Each nutrient ranges from 0 to 100, and the starting value when creating the farm soil turf for each nutrient is between 20 and 40.

There are two main ways to increase nutrients for a farm soil turf: fertilizer items or plants.

Fertilizer items include manures, guanos, rots, rotten eggs, all stages of growth formula, spoiled fish, or even Gloomer’s goop. However, using only fertilizer items to increase nutrients is not recommended, as this method is expensive and time-consuming.

The best way to increase nutrients is to grow the corresponding plants.

For example, potatoes are best for increasing 2 Compost and 2 Super Growth Formula nutrients with the cost of 4 Manure. To refill Manure nutrients, simply pick up Manure from Beefalo or Guano from the Batilisks and use them on the farm soil turf.

2. Ground Moisture

Same as ground nutrients, each farm soil turf has a moisture meter ranging from 0 to 100.

There are multiple ways to increase ground moisture, such as:

  • Use a watering can, waterfowl can, or water balloons. Each use increases 25 moisture points.
  • Leave the ice on the farm soil turf. Each ice gives 20 moisture points.
  • Rain increases moisture by 1.5 per second.

Remember that besides the water consumption from the plants, ground moisture can also decrease naturally if the world temperature is above 70 degrees.

Stress Mechanic

Plants in DST can gain stress points at the beginning of each stage. This point is critical, as it affects the output of your crops, as shown below.

Total Stress PointsCrops ReceiveSeeds Receive
0-132
2-612
7-1111
12+10

There are 7 stress sources, meaning a plant can have up to 28 stress points when fully grown.

  • Ground nutrient: as mentioned, each crop consumes and produces ground nutrients per stage. If the amount of specific nutrients in a single farm soil turf is insufficient, the plant gains 1 stress.
  • Ground moisture: +1 stress point if the plant consumes less than 10% water compared to its previous stage.
  • Happiness: +1 stress point if the plant isn’t taken care of.
  • Season: +1 stress point if the current season isn’t the plant’s favorite.
  • Killjoys: +1 stress point if rotten plants, weeds, or garden detritus are within 3 tiles.
  • Family: +1 stress point if there are less than 4 plants of the same type within 2 tiles.
  • Overcrowding: +1 stress point if there are 10+ plants (including weeds) in a single farm soil turf.

Besides seasons, stress points also affect the plant’s growth rate. Usually, it takes roughly 2.5 – 4 days in season and 5-8 days off-season for a plant to mature.

First Days Farming

On your first days of farming in DST, focus solely on 1-2 crops and forget about giant crops to get at least 1 crop and 1 seed back.

If you follow our guide, simply plant all 9 seeds in a farm soil turf. Remember to water the ground for each stage and take care of the plants by left-clicking on them.

As they reach the Sprout stage, you can identify if a plant is a weed by looking at its appearance and name. Then, immediately remove all weed plants to reduce some stress points for your plants.

If you still can’t identify weed plants in the Sprout stage, waiting for later stages and removing them is okay.

Keep watering the ground and taking care of the plants until they’re fully grown. To harvest a plant, right-click on it.

In most cases, you’ll get 1 crop and 1 seed back. (7-11 stress points)

You get random crops for food and seeds to replant, and your farm soil turf also gains ground nutrients for later farming purposes.

Once you have various crops, feed the caged bird to get more of your preferred seeds.

It is best to grow crops that consume Compost or Manure nutrients, as these are the two you can easily refill using rots or manures.

So, depending on the current season, consider planting potato, eggplant, pepper, dragon fruit, asparagus, corn, durian, or garlic.

It’s recommended to plant above the ground for natural light. If planted underground, you must find a place near natural light sources, like the cave entrance.

Farm plants can also be rotten after 4 (normal crops) or 6 days (giant crops), so remember to harvest them when you have the chance.

Grow Giant Crops

The overall concept of growing giant crops in DST is to minimize the stress points gained from all 7 sources.

For Ground Moisture and Plant Happiness, just keep watering the ground and taking care of the plant (or use Fruit Fly or other items).

The crops should take care of Ground Nutrients if you choose the plants correctly.

For example, a farm soil turf with 1 potato and 1 tomato won’t provide any stress points from the ground nutrients source to the plants at all, as the potato produces 2 Compost, 2 Super Growth Formula, and consumes 4 Manure.

In contrast, the tomato produces 4 Manure and consumes 2 Compost and 2 Super Growth Formula.

If you remove all Garden Detritus, rotten plants, and weeds and only plant 9 crops in a single farm soil turf, then you’re good with Killjoys and Overcrowding stress sources.

The last two stress sources involve the season and the farming space (4 plants of the same type within 2 tiles). However, if you follow the layout we suggested (2×2), you’re also good with the Family stress source.

Your plant will automatically get 4 stress points if planted off-season. So, getting giant crops off-season is impossible.

Alternatively, you can get giant crops by planting only 1 seed type. In this case, you must pay close attention to the Ground Nutrients by pre-planting other seeds first to get the required nutrients.

For instance, you can plant 8 tomatoes to get the required manure for dragon fruits first. Then, harvest them and plant 4 dragon fruits in the Spring or Summer to satisfy the Ground Nutrients and Season stress sources.

How to Water Plants

You can’t water plants in DST, but rather water the farm soil turf on which the crops are planted.

First, you must craft a Watering Can with 2 Boards and 1 Rope.

Next, equip the Watering Can in your hand slot, find a pond (not ocean), and right-click on it to gather water. You can also select the Watering Can in your inventory and left-click on a pond for the same action.

To water the farm soil turf, equip the Watering Can and right-click on it. Alternatively, you can select the Watering Can and right-click on the turf.

Other ways to effectively water plants are to do the farm when it’s raining or read the Practical Rain Rituals book to summon rain if your team has Wickerbottom.

What Crops Should You Farm

The crops you should farm in Don’t Starve Together depend greatly on your needs, the current season, the available seeds, and the available space you can afford.

However, here are the crops that have significant usage and minimal requirements:

  • Potato: can be cooked to obtain Roasted Potato, which restores 20 health and 25 hunger.
  • Tomato: used to cook Vegetable Stinger, an excellent food source that restores 25 hunger and 33 sanity.
  • Dragon Fruit: used to cook Dragonpie, which restores 40 heath and 75 hunger.
  • Carrot: used to build Rabbit Hutch to farm other materials.

For Autumn, Winter, and Spring, use the [1 potato:1 carrot:1 corn] ratio to get giant crops. With a 2×2 layout, you can farm up to 12 potatoes, 12 carrots, and 12 corn.

In the Spring or Summer, use the [2 tomato:1 dragon fruit] ratio. To get giant tomatoes and dragon fruits, use two farm soil turfs and plant 12 tomatoes on the outside and 6 dragon fruits inside so they can satisfy the Family stress source.

Don’t Starve Together – Nightmare Werepig Guide: How to Beat It https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-nightmare-werepig-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-nightmare-werepig-guide/#respond Thu, 14 Sep 2023 11:32:48 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=53850 Nightmare Werepig is one of the newest bosses added to Don’t Starve Together, along with other nightmare items and the new skill tree mechanic.

While this boss seems neutral at first glance, you may struggle to fight it unprepared.

Recommended Read: Which Character Is the Best in DST?

This guide will show you how to beat Nightmare Werepig in Don’t Starve Together and everything you need to know about it, including how much health it has, what day it spawns, and what to do when it isn’t spawning in your world.

To beat the Nightmare Werepig in Don’t Starve Together, you must first mine all three marble pillars to make them shake simultaneously. The boss fight then begins with multiple phases in which you need to become insane to kill the Parasitic Shadelings, dodge the lunge attack to fatigue the boss, and take advantage of its ground slam to obtain the Dreadstone.

Table of Contents

How to Beat Nightmare Werepig in Don’t Starve Together

Nightmare Werepig is the primary source of Pure Horror – an upgraded version of Nightmare Fuel and the main material for crafting Dreadstone items.

To get these end-game materials, let’s prepare the necessary items!

Preparation

Although the boss looks terrifying, Nightmare Werepig is pretty easy to deal with. Depending on your kiting experience, 2 to 3 Log Armor or Football Helmets should be enough.

If dodged perfectly, you need nothing. However, if you’re not confident in your fighting ability, it’s recommended to bring extra armor or even use Thulecite Suit and Thulecite Crown if possible.

Nightmare Werepig also has a more significant negative sanity aura, so prepare food to restore health and sanity. You can use Cooked Green Caps, Jerkies, and Pierogi.

Next, you need a Pick/Axe to initiate the fight. Brightshade Smasher could also do the trick. However, it’s recommended to use a Pick/Axe since it’s cheaper and easier to craft.

You’ll fight the Nightmare Werepig underground, so the fighting area will most likely be covered in darkness. In this case, consider bringing a few Lanterns or a Star Caller’s Staff to create lights.

Alternatively, you may want to bring a Nightmare Amulet to quickly go into the insane state to complete the boss’s first phase. However, it’s optional since you can just stand beside the boss.

Phase 0

Once you’ve found the Nightmare Werepig, use a normal Pickaxe or a Pick/Axe to mine all three marble pillars that chain the boss.

Keep mining until all the marbles fall off, revealing a layer of Dreadstones underneath.

Free the Nightmare Werepig

Next, use a Pick/Axe to mine the pillars one after another to make them shake simultaneously. They only shake for a short amount of time after being mined, so do this quickly.

When all the pillars shake, the Nightmare Werepig is released from the chains, and the boss fight begins.

In phase 0, Nightmare Werepig doesn’t actively attack you but is neutral because he’s busy attacking the Parasitic Shadelings crawling on its shoulder.

In this phase, you must help the boss kill those Shadelings.

As usual, you can only see those shadow creatures with a low sanity (insane state). You have two options: stand near the boss’s feet to receive a -800 sanity per minute aura or wear a Nightmare Amulet.

As the boss shoves the Shadelings off its shoulder, you must immediately attack them. Then, remember to eat some sanity-restoring food to avoid more shadow creatures from spawning.

When you’ve killed all the Shadelings, the next phase begins.

Phase 1

Nightmare Werepig has only 1 move in this phase: lunge attack.

The fighting pattern is quite simple and repetitive, as the boss will always use this attack over and over again.

If you see the boss run away and turn back to charge at you, wait for it to come close, then run to the side or diagonally toward it.

The lunge attack can be hard to dodge at first. However, as long as you’re familiar with the pacing, this attack is one of the easiest boss moves to dodge in the entire game.

Lunge Attack

Nightmare Werepig has a fatigue attribute ranging between 0 and 3. When its fatigue reaches 3, the boss kneels down, leaving you plenty of time to deal extra hits.

The following actions affect this attribute:

  • Missed a lunge attack: +1
  • Successfully perform a lunge attack: -1.5
  • Being fatigued: reset fatigue attribute to 0

As you can see, you can hit the boss a few times between its lunge attacks. But to fight it properly, you must make the boss fatigued by successfully dodging its lunge attack 3 times in a row.

Failing to dodge one lunge attack requires you to dodge another two.

Nightmare Werepig will use this attack in other phases, so practice until you can perfectly dodge those lunge attacks.

Phase 2 (below 5000 HP)

Phase 2 comes with a new attack: ground slam.

This attack has a massive area of effect, high damage, and creates a small sinkhole that will slow you down, just like the Antlion’s sinkhole.

Just like the lunge attack, this attack is relatively new and hard to dodge compared to other bosses’ attacks in Don’t Starve Together.

First, you must approach the boss to trigger its ground slam attack. Being too far away will cause the boss to stalk you, regenerating 25 HP per second.

Nightmare Werepig is stalking a player.

You can identify this move by looking at his movement and head. If its head keeps looking at you, then it’s regenerating health.

As the Nightmare Werepig raises its hand, you must immediately run either to the back or away from the boss.

Do not hesitate and just pick a direction to run, as one fleeting moment of carelessness can lead to serious consequences.

When you successfully dodge the attack, hit it 2 times, run away, and then go back in to trigger the next ground slam attack.

Ground Slam Attack

Remember to pick a direction that does not have the sinkholes from the previous ground slam attacks, as it will slow you down and make it impossible to dodge the next attack.

This phase is really annoying if you don’t know how to dodge the ground slam correctly. Alternatively, you can use the Walking Cane or Lazy Explorer for a slight movement speed boost.

In addition, you can take advantage of the ground slam attack to destroy the pillars, giving you 3-4 Dreadstones each. Although it’s optional to do so, it is such a waste not to destroy the pillars.

Phase 3 (below 3000 HP)

Phase 2 is a nightmare. Fortunately, it only lasts until the boss’s HP reaches 3000.

In phase 3, Nightmare Werepig uses a combination of lunge and ground slam attacks. If you are familiar with the previous two phases, then the final phase isn’t a huge problem at all.

Remember that the new combination attack is super dangerous. If it successfully lands a lunge attack, it will slam the ground right after, potentially killing any unprepared character in one or two hits.

Like phase 1, dodge the lunge attack and hit it when it’s fatigued.

How Much Health Does Nightmare Werepig Have?

In Don’t Starve Together, the Nightmare Werepig has 10,000 health points.

By this point, you should have more advanced weapons than normal Spears or Tentacle Spikes. And 10,000 health points isn’t that much compared to the health of a Dragonfly or Reanimated Skeleton.

With a Ham Bat or a Thulecite Club, you must hit the Nightmare Werepig 169 times to beat it. While a Dark Sword reduces the required hits to only 148.

What Day Does Nightmare Werepig Spawn?

By default, Nightmare Werepig spawns underground on day 2. It then respawns every 20 days after being beaten.

Unlike most other giants, Nightmare Werepig doesn’t actively attack you and your base because it’s chained by the marble pillars. So, just take your time and fight the boss when you’re ready.

What to Do When Nightmare Werepig Isn’t Spawning?

By default, Nightmare Werepig spawns randomly underground in the brownish muddy biome. So, make sure to scour the cave first.

If you still can’t find it, here are what to do when Nightmare Werepig isn’t spawning in your world:

  • Check your world setting to see if the Nightmare Werepig spawn rate is turned off.
  • Check the current day and ensure you’re not looking for Nightmare Werepig on day 1 since it only spawns on day 2.
  • Nightmare Werepig respawns every 20 days in a random pre-defined location. So, if someone on your server already killed it, wait until the next cycle and look for another brownish muddy biome.

Alternatively, you can use commands to spawn the Nightmare Werepig. Press “~” on your keyboard to open the debug menu. Then type /c_spawn(“daywalker”) to spawn the Nightmare Werepig at your cursor.

That’s how to beat the Nightmare Werepig in Don’t Starve Together!

Don’t Starve Together – Which Character Is the Best? https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-which-character-is-the-best/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-which-character-is-the-best/#respond Tue, 05 Sep 2023 13:14:26 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=54082 One of the most challenging tasks you must first do in Don’t Starve Together is choosing a character, which ultimately impacts how you play the game.

Due to the number of characters available in the game, it’s a little bit tricky to determine which one suits you best.

Recommended Read: How to Find Ruins in DST

Each character has unique strengths and weaknesses, so the term “best character” depends on your experience, playstyle, and objectives in the game. However, based on our experience, the best characters in Don’t Starve Together are Wickerbottom, Wanda, Wolfgang, Wigfrid, Wilson, and Woodie.

Table of Contents

Which Character Is The Best in Don’t Starve Together?

Don’t Starve Together has 18 characters, each with a distinct appearance and abilities. There’s no guarantee that you can master them all, even when you’re a seasoned DST player.

Although you can change your character sometimes, the process is quite complicated.

Before reading on, remember that new updates from Klei may contain more character reworks, so the list may be changed in the future.

1. Wickerbottom

Wickerbottom is considered one of the best characters in the game, assuming you know how to play her properly.

With decent attributes (125 HP, 150 hunger, and 250 sanities) and the ability to read various books, Wickerbottom is suitable for solo and multiplayer runs.

Speaking of her strongest perk, Wickerbottom can craft and read 10+ different books, giving her the flexible power to survive in most cases.

The books’ use cases vary, but here are the books we used in our previous runs:

  • Horticulture, Abridged and Applied Silviculture: to grow farming and resource plants, respectively.
  • Birds of the World and Sleepytime Stories: to spawn birds, put them to sleep, and kill them to farm Krampus for Krampus Sacks.
  • Lux Aeterna and Lux Aeterna Redux: to create a light beam to light up the base. This has a similar use as the Star Caller’s Staff.
  • On Tentacles: to farm Tentacle Spots and Spikes. It’s recommended to spawn the Tentacles inside the Bunnyman farm.
  • Practical Rain Rituals: to start or stop the rain. This book is extremely useful for farming, combating (wet creatures receive more damage from certain weapons), avoiding wetness, stopping frog rains, and preventing the Antlion from spawning.
  • Apicultural Notes: spawn bees to protect you. This is also the primary way we use for combat, as each bee can deal 30 damage.

Wickerbottom has the ability to craft bookshelves, which allow her to store used books inside to restore their durability.

Now you see why she’s powerful in the late game, especially when you have all the materials to craft the needed books.

Wickerbottom can craft most recipes without using the Science Machine. This ability is extremely useful in the game’s early days for crafting Backpacks.

Regarding drawbacks, you can’t sleep while playing Wickerbottom, so eating sanity-restoring food is the primary way to increase your sanity again. Cooked Green Caps, Vegetable Stinger, and sometimes Jerkies are the food for this purpose.

Remember to eat the above food while they’re fresh (green background color) since Wickerbottom won’t gain any sanity from stale food.

2. Wanda

Before Wanda, Wolfgang and Wigfrid used to be two of the strongest characters in DST, well known for their high damage.

However, Wanda currently holds the record with the ability to deal up to 142.8 damage per hit using her charged Alarming Clock.

Basically, she receives a 1.2 and 1.75 multiplier on shadow weapons’ damage at her middle age and elderly stage, respectively.

Moreover, she receives less negative sanity aura (or none at the elderly stage) from most sources, making Dark Swords and Night Armor the best combat combination.

In addition to the high damage, Wanda is also good at dodging attacks with the Backstep Watch, and she can teleport using the Backtrek Watch.

Wanda doesn’t have a health bar. Instead, she has an age bar, ranging from 20 to 80.

Unlike other characters, Wanda ages over time and dies at 80 health points. Therefore, it’s recommended to only play this character if you’re already familiar with the game’s concepts, as besides managing lots of other things, you must pay close attention to Wanda’s age.

That said, Wanda is a powerful character if you know how to play her. Otherwise, you’ll die a lot playing her.

Apart from the new health concept, the biggest drawback of Wanda is that she can’t heal from any healing food. This makes you depend on the Ageless Watch to reduce her age.

Like Wickerbottom, Wanda is weak in the game’s early days, but your life will be much easier when you have enough materials.

Wanda is a paid character, so you have to purchase her bundles for $5.99 – $9.99. Alternatively, you can weave her using 2700 Spools.

3. Wolfgang

Even after several updates, Wolfgang is still one of the best characters to play in DST.

He doesn’t have that many mechanics compared to Wickerbottom and Wanda. However, with high attributes and the ability to double his damage, Wolfgang is a pretty strong pick in the game’s early days, suitable for most newcomers.

Wolfgang has a new meter called “Might Meter”, which decreases over time based on his hunger. The more hunger points he has, the slower the meter drains.

There are several actions to increase this new meter, including lifting dumbbells, using the Gym, and doing various actions (chopping, digging, hammering, etc.).

Wolfgang can transform between his 3 forms depending on the Might Meter points.

  • Wimpy (0-25 Might Points): x0.75 damage and hunger loss, lose x1.25 sanity.
  • Normal (25-75 Might Points): x1 damage, more hunger loss, and slower sanity loss than Wimpy form.
  • Mighty (75-100 Might Points): x2 damage, x1 hunger loss, and lose x1.1 sanity.

The Mighty form is only used for fighting purposes. When not in combat, it’s recommended to keep Wolfgang in his Wimpy form for slower hunger-reduction.

The only drawback of Wolfgang is that he loses more sanity when it’s dark and fighting monsters.

However, this is not a big deal since the reduction rate is not that high. You can easily pick a flower or eat a Cooked Green Cap to eliminate this disadvantage completely.

The recent rework also provides a skill tree for Wolfgang, making him stronger than ever. The skills you primarily want to use are Chore Workout, Leg Day, and Push the Limits.

4. Wigfrid

If you don’t like Wolfgang because of his transformation, then Wigfrid is an excellent alternative.

Just like Wolfgang, she has 200 health points, which is suitable for tanking most bosses. However, Wigfrid only has 120 hunger and sanity points.

She has a permanent x1.25 damage for all attacks and receives 25% less damage from all sources. Moreover, Wigfrid gains health and sanity points from attacking monsters, making her sustainable for longer fights.

Wigfrid starts the game with 1 Battle Helm and 1 Battle Spear. The helmet reduces all incoming damage by 80%, while the spear has a base damage of 42.5, which is higher than the default spear by 8.5.

That said, Wigfrid is a good choice for newcomers and veteran DST players. She’s easy to play, has excellent starting gear, and has strong perks.

In the recent rework, Wigfrid has a new Inspiration meter, which allows her to sing battle songs to buff all players in the area.

We rarely use this feature, as Wigfrid is already strong on her own. However, you may want to use The Weaponized Warble and The Heartrending Balla songs to increase the weapon’s durability and gain health points on each hit.

The only downside of Wigfrid is she can only eat meat dishes. This eliminates a lot of good food options like carrots, berries, and seeds in the game’s early days or Dragonpie for healing in the late game.

However, it’s not a big problem since most good dishes contain meat. Moreover, you can just give the plants and fruits to your teammate or use them as fillers to cook other meat dishes.

5. Wilson

Wilson is the most iconic character in the Don’t Starve game series.

He has high and balanced attributes, with 150 health points, 150 hunger, and 200 sanity points.

Wilson has neither downsides nor strong perks. This makes him the most balanced character in DST, and he’s suitable for newcomers looking to learn the game’s mechanics first.

Wilson has a magnificent beard that grows over time to provide a decent amount of insulation, making him survive easier in the Winter. However, you should shave the beard in the Summer to avoid overheating.

Shaving the beard gives Wilson sanity points and Beard Hairs, one of the main ingredients for crafting the Meat Effigy.

In the recent rework, Wilson also has a skill tree, allowing him to do many different scientific things. The skills we use the most are:

  • Torch Toss: to work during the night. However, if you already have Lanterns, then ignore this skill.
  • Transmute Gems III and Transmute Icky I: to craft Green Gems, Iridescent Gems, and transform between Meat and Morsels. The transformed meat has 100% freshness, so this is a great way to refresh the meat.
  • Beard Hair Storage: to have up to 3 more inventory slots inside your beard. The number of slots depends on the beard stage, and you can only store food items here.

Overall, most skills in the Transmutation branch are worth learning, as they allow you to transform one material into another and vice versa.

6. Woodie

Woodie has an indestructible axe and chop trees twice as fast compared to other characters.

He can transform into 3 different forms by eating the corresponding Kitschy Idols, reducing 20 health and 15 sanities, and increasing his hunger by 18.75.

  • Kitschy Beaver Idol: transform into a Werebeaver.
  • Kitschy Moose Idol: transform into a Weremoose.
  • Kitschy Goose Idol: transform into a Weregoose.

He can also transform into a random form on the full moon.

Woodie has a new Wereness meter that will be full when transformed into one of the above forms.

The meter reduces over time, and the reduction speed is increased if you don’t do specific actions tied to each form.

For Werebeaver, the actions are chopping, digging, mining, and hammering objects. For Weremoose, fighting is the only way. And for Weregoose, it’s running.

To at least have control of the transformation, you can use the Kitschy Idol to transform into the form you want before the full moon. When the next full moon happens, it only refreshes your Wereness meter.

The Werebeaver is well-known for his gnawing ability. It only takes around 1 second to chop a large tree and 0.467 seconds to dig a plant, while mining and hammering actions are longer than other characters.

So, in our runs, we used the Werebeaver form to farm many logs and dug plants, including saplings and grass turfs.

Speaking of Weregoose, this tiny form is the fastest, and we mainly use it to explore the map. In our runs, we used this form to find the Lunar Island because this creature can run on the ocean surface.

We had an accident before where we put important stuff in the backpack and then went to find the Lunar Island. However, we couldn’t make it to the land in time and died in the ocean, losing everything to the ocean bottom.

So, remember to put important items in the inventory instead of a backpack since Woodie will drop everything on transforming except the backpack.

The Weremoose form is best for combating and clearing multiple enemies (frogs from frog rains, spiders, hounds, etc.) with his charge attack. However, we’d recommend using Wolfgang, Wigfrid, or Wanda to deal with the giant bosses for better outcomes.

In addition, you should only transform when your hunger is low and your health is high. Because you can’t heal by using any method when transformed, and your hunger will always be reduced to 0 after the transformation.

Besides, exploring the Ruins is always thrilling, as this is the home of many dangerous creatures and valuable treasures.

Most newcomers struggle to find this particular structure, so in this guide, we’ll show you the different ways to find Ruins in Don’t Starve Together.

The 3 most common ways to find ruins in Don’t Starve Together are by exploring the whole map gradually, finding a mud biome with Cave Lichens and Slurpers, and using mods/console commands.

How to Find Ruins in Don’t Starve Together

The Ruins are part of the cave system in Don’t Starve Together. The presence of Ruins is random in each world, but the methods of finding them are fixed.

Before reading on, remember that the Ruins never generate next to a biome with the Cave Entrance. So, instead of wasting time scouring around the Cave Entrance, pick a direction and travel at least 2 biomes away.

1. Explore The Map Gradually

The most traditional way to find the Ruins in Don’t Starve Together is to explore the map gradually.

However, to increase the chance of finding the Ruins, try entering as many Sinkholes above the ground as possible. Just destroy the Sinkhole’s rock, enter it, and immediately exit the cave.

When you’ve discovered more than 3 Sinkholes, open the underground map by pressing the “M” key. Now, pay attention to the Sinkholes’ locations.

If you see a large empty space on the map located on a different side of all the Sinkholes, then the Ruins may be there.

To improve the accuracy, try discovering more Sinkholes above the ground to pinpoint the exact empty space in the underground map.

This method might not be correct in every situation, but it is still an effective way to find the Ruins.

2. Find Cave Lichens and Slurpers

Once you know the rough location of the Ruins, go in that direction and pay attention to a brownish biome with mud on the ground.

If you start seeing Cave Lichens and Slurpers, then you’re one step closer to the Ruins.

As you go further, you may see monkey villages and ancient walls, indicating the Ruins’ entrance.

3. Use Mods or Console Commands

The last method to find the Ruins is using a mod that adds extra features not found in the regular game.

One popular mod for this purpose is the Map Revealer for DST.

Although it doesn’t directly reveal the exact location of the ruins, it removes the map’s fog, which makes finding the ruins less challenging.

Once you’ve subscribed to the mod, select “Host Game” and choose your server, then choose the “Mods” tab in the server setting, click on the “Map Revealer for DST” mod to enable it, and click on the “Create World/Resume World” button to join the game.

With the mod activated, press Shift + R to reveal the map.

Alternatively, you can also trigger the map-reveal mechanic using console commands.

Simply press “~” on your keyboard and paste this command:
for x=-1600,1600,35 do for y=-1600,1600,35 do ThePlayer.player_classified.MapExplorer:RevealArea(x,0,y) end end

Next, press “Enter”, then open the map and see the difference!

Don’t Starve Together – Reanimated Skeleton Guide: How to Beat It https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-reanimated-skeleton-guide/ https://gamerempire.net/dont-starve-together-reanimated-skeleton-guide/#respond Sat, 02 Sep 2023 08:15:45 +0000 https://gamerempire.net/?p=52949 Reanimated Skeleton is one of the most unique bosses in Don’t Starve Together, as it has multiple variants and requires a complex spawning process.

Not only that, it’s impossible to fight this skeleton creature without learning its abilities.

Beating the Reanimated Skeleton in Don’t Starve Together is a complex process. This guide will show you how to beat all 3 Reanimated Skeleton variants, including what items to prepare, how to spawn each variant, their abilities, and their fight cycle.

Table of Contents

How to Beat Reanimated Skeleton in Don’t Starve Together

Unlike most other giants in the game, Reanimated Skeleton can only be summoned manually by completing a series of complex steps, which includes defeating two more bosses and traveling deep underground.

First, let’s prepare the necessary weapons and armor!

Prepare Weapons and Armor

Since you have to participate in at least 3 boss fights, it’s crucial to prepare a lot of weapons and armor, as well as some food to restore health and sanity for the underground journey.

1. Armor

Log Armor and Football Helmets are the first option on the list, as they’re quite cheap to make in the early game.

However, as you progress, using Thulecite Crown and Thulecite Suit is recommended for stronger protection.

Of course, it all depends on your kiting experience, but we recommend preparing ten or more armor pieces.

You don’t need to bring all of them at once, but a few for each boss fight is enough.

For the Ancient Fuelweaver boss, you may need a lot more. Don’t worry about the inventory slot because you can always craft and drop the armor pieces in the boss room to pick up during the fight.

2. Food

For food options, we always use Pierogies or Fishsticks for health restoration and Jerkies, Cooked Green Caps, or Vegetable Stingers for sanity.

By this point, you should have the Bundling Wrap recipe to wrap all your food items inside, preventing them from spoiling.

3. Tools

To fight the Reanimated Skeleton (specifically the Ancient Fuelweaver), you should have the following:

  • Weather Pain: used to quickly kill the Woven Shadows, a creature that heals the Ancient Fuelweaver.
  • The Lazy Explorer: used to escape the Bone Cage instantly.
  • Nightmare Amulet: used to induce insanity effects, allowing you to see and destroy the Unseen Hands.

The above tools are expensive to craft and optional for the fight. However, the lack of them will make the fight extremely difficult.

How to Spawn the Reanimated Skeleton

Reanimated Skeleton has 3 variants: Forest, Caves, and Ancient Fuelweaver.

To spawn the first two, you only need to find 8 Fossil Fragments and fight the Shadow Pieces boss to get the Shadow Atrium.

To find Fossil Fragments, go underground and find the Stalagmites.

Each Stalagmite mined with a pickaxe has a 10% chance of dropping one Fossil Fragment.

You can use the fragments to build the Odd Skeleton by right-clicking them on the ground.

The first fragment creates the skeleton’s foundation, while the remaining 7 will slowly upgrade it.

Remember that there are another 3 Odd Skeleton variants, and only 1 is correct. Thus, you can only spawn the Reanimated Skeleton using the correct variant.

Here’s the fun part! Depending on where you build the Odd Skeleton, a different Reanimated Skeleton variant will be spawned.

  • Forest: Odd Skeleton must be built above the ground. This variant can only be summoned during the night.
  • Caves: anywhere underground.
  • Ancient Fuelweaver: Odd Skeleton must be built in the underground Atrium biome. This biome can only be entered by traveling through the Tentacle Pillar Hole or using the Lazy Explorer. In our runs, we were lucky to find the edge of this biome while exploring the underground map, so we just used the Lazy Explorer to teleport over.

If you want to spawn the first two variants, then go ahead and put the Shadow Atrium inside the Odd Skeleton and watch the transformation!

Otherwise, you must locate the Ruins and find the Labyrinth biome. Then, defeat the Ancient Guardian here to get the Ancient Key.

Back to the end room of the Atrium, put the Ancient Key inside the Ancient Gateway. Then, to spawn the third variant of the Reanimated Skeleton, build the Odd Skeleton in this room and put the Shadow Atrium in.

How to Beat the Forest Reanimated Skeleton

The Forest variant is a passive creature that doesn’t attack you, even if you initiate the battle.

It wanders around, leaving a trail of plants (Lesser Glow Berries, Lightbulbs, and Ferns) for some seconds on the ground for you to harvest and destroy any structures under its feet.

You can defeat this variant using any type of weapon you have. However, the best way to beat the Forest variant is to wait until the following day for it to decay.

The Forest Reanimated Skeleton returns 100% materials on death (8 Fossil Fragments and 1 Shadow Atrium), so it’s best to spawn it a few times before the other two variants if you want to farm the plants.

How to Beat the Cave Reanimated Skeleton

The Cave variant has roughly the same amount of health points and attack damage as other giants in DST, so beating it shouldn’t be a big problem.

It has two moves: attack with its skull and slam the ground to snare all players inside a bone cage. The latter skill is only available after the boss is lower in health.

To beat the Cave Reanimated Skeleton, hit it 4-5 times and then run away to dodge its attack. Then, repeat the process.

When it uses the snare attack, use the Lazy Explorer to teleport out of the bone trap. If you don’t have this staff, just stand still and tank the boss, and remember to check your helmet or armor’s durability.

The bone cage will disappear after some seconds. When you’re out, just repeat this cycle to beat the Cave Reanimated Skeleton.

How to Beat the Ancient Fuelweaver

It’s time for one of the most challenging bosses in Don’t Starve Together!

As mentioned earlier, you must prepare lots of armor, helmets, healing food, and the three special items:

  • 2-3 Weather Pain
  • 2 The Lazy Explorer
  • 1 Nightmare Amulet

Once you’ve located the end room of the Atrium, drop some extra armor and tools around the room so you can quickly pick them up during the fight.

When ready, activate the Ancient Gateway, build the Odd Skeleton, and insert the Shadow Atrium.

In the first stage, the Ancient Fuelweaver has 3 moves:

  • Regular attack.
  • Snare attack like the cave variant.
  • And Fossil Spikes drop from the ceiling.

It’s recommended to stay near the boss, as you can tank the boss in the first stage, and it will do the snare attack if you run too far.

Ancient Fuelweaver’s Fossil Spikes

Like the cave variant, you can use the Lazy Explorer to escape the snare attack.

If you have limited resources, try dodging its attack by hitting it 3-4 times and then run away. Then go back in, hit it again, and dodge its Fossil Spikes attack if possible (pay attention to the shadows of the spikes).

Normally, the boss’s fighting cycle should follow this pattern:
Regular attack x3 > Fossil Spikes > Regular attack x2 > Snare attack > Repeat

When the boss’s HP drops below 10,000, it enters stage 2 with 3 new moves:

  • Spawn Woven Shadows to eat, restoring 400 health points per creature.
  • Spawn 6 Unseen Hands to create Shadow Shield, blocking 100% damage.
  • Mind Control attack targets insane players and stuns them for 3.5 seconds.

By the time it reaches stage 2, the boss kneels down, and it will spawn Woven Shadows to eat. Typically, the first two new moves usually happen together, so you can’t deal any damage while watching it restore health.

To remove the Shadow Shield, you must destroy all 6 Unseen Hands. And you can only see these hands if your sanity is low.

Standing near the boss to receive a -400 per minute sanity aura is a great idea. However, as you’re low on sanity, shadow creatures will spawn, making the boss fight even more challenging.

In that case, you need a lot of sanity restoring food or simply using the Nightmare Amulet to quickly switch between sane and insane status.

Regarding the Woven Shadows, they will always crawl toward the Ancient Fuelweaver, so you can quickly destroy them by using the Weather Pain under the boss’s feet.

Woven Shadows spawn in waves, so you must use the Weather Pain multiple times.

The second stage is quite stressful, but the trick here is to simultaneously destroy the last Unseen Hand and Woven Shadow. This way, you will have more time to hit the boss before it uses these 2 moves again.

Each time it kneels down, immediately equip the Nightmare Amulet and destroy the Unseen Hands while paying attention to the Woven Shadows. If one of them comes near the Ancient Fuelweaver, then use Weather Pain towards the boss.

Repeat this cycle: Unequip the Nightmare Amulet > Re-equip it > Destroy Unseen Hands > Destroy Woven Shadows > Repeat

Then destroy the last two Unseen Hand and Woven Shadow, and beat the boss like the first stage.

Ancient Fuelweaver’s Mind Control

You have to unequip and equip the Nightmare Amulet continuously because of the boss’s Mind Control attack. If you wear the amulet for too long (insane for too long), you will be stunned for 3.5 seconds.

Believe us, being stunned while watching the boss restore its health is not something you’d want to experience.

How Much Health Does Reanimated Skeleton Have?

In Don’t Starve Together, the Forest and Cave Reanimated Skeleton variants have 4,000 health points, while the third variant (Ancient Fuelweaver) has 16,000 health points.

Beating the Forest variant is easy, but beating the Cave Reanimated Skeleton requires more effort as it has roughly the same HP and attack damage as other bosses in the game.

The Ancient Fuelweaver is an absolute nightmare, as you need to hit it 269 times with a Thulecite Club or 236 times with a Dark Sword while dodging its abilities to defeat it.

What Day Does Reanimated Skeleton Spawn?

Reanimated Skeleton doesn’t have an exact spawn day. Instead, you must manually spawn it by building the correct Odd Skeleton in your desired location and inserting the Shadow Atrium into the skeleton.

If you want to spawn the Ancient Fuelweaver, then remember to activate the Ancient Gateway first with the Ancient Key.

What to Do When Reanimated Skeleton Isn’t Spawning?

By default, if you collect enough Fossil Fragments and get the Shadow Atrium from the Shadow Pieces (which can’t be turned off in the settings), you can spawn Reanimated Skeleton whenever you want.

As far as we know, the only reason why Reanimated Skeleton isn’t spawning in your world is because you’ve built the wrong version of the Odd Skeleton.

If you still can’t spawn the Reanimated Skeleton, press “~” on your keyboard to open the debug menu. Then type:

  • /c_spawn(“stalker_forest”) to spawn the Forest variant.
  • /c_spawn(“stalker”) to spawn the Cave variant.
  • /c_spawn(“stalker_atrium”) to spawn the Ancient Fuelweaver.

That’s how to beat the Reanimated Skeleton in Don’t Starve Together!
