How to Get Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk in Destiny 2
Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is an Exotic chest armor piece for Hunters that was added to Destiny 2 in the Season of Plunder.
This Exotic chest piece was quickly picked up by the community and seen as one of the best Exotic armor pieces for Hunters, providing them with a level of survivability and versatility that outclasses just about everything else.
Like every new Season in Destiny 2, new Exotic armor pieces can only be obtained through the completion of Legend Lost Sectors.
In order to unlock Legend Lost Sectors, you will need a minimum Power Level of 1750, though a Power Level of at least 1800 is recommended before attempting Legend Lost Sectors.
These Lost Sectors are some of the most challenging content in Destiny 2. They reward players with a rare chance of dropping new Exotic armor upon completion.
Note that you will have to complete the Legend Lost Sector solo to have any chance of being rewarded with Exotic armor pieces.
Legend Lost Sectors are on a daily rotation. Every day will have a new Lost Sector on a new planet with a new Exotic loot pool.
Once you are high enough Power Level to unlock Legend Lost Sectors, look for the Lost Sector icon on your Directory.
From here, you can hover over the Legend Lost Sector on the planet’s Map and see what the modifiers are, what type of Champions are present, and what type of loot it is dropping today.
In order to get the Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk, you will need to complete the Legend Lost Sector on Chest Day.
If you are lucky enough to run into the Legend Lost Sector when it is Chest Day, then all you need is a well-equipped Loadout, and you are ready to start farming.
It is important to make sure that you have a way to stun all of the Champions present. Take advantage of any elemental damage buffs by matching them with your subclass or Energy weapon.
When you load into the planet and make your way to the Legend Lost Sector, you will notice that there are two difficulty options: Legendary and Master.
Legendary difficulty will give you a rare chance of being rewarded with Exotic armor upon completion, while a Master difficulty run will have a common chance.
Master difficulty is much, much harder than Legendary.
Even though Master has a higher drop chance of Exotic armor on completion, it is recommended to stick with Legendary difficulty, as you will be able to complete multiple runs in the time it takes you to complete even one run on Master difficulty.
After completing the Legend Lost Sector, you will be sent back to the entrance. This makes it very easy to continuously farm the Lost Sector until you get the Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk to drop.

Is Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Worth Is?
There are two things that players look for in end-game Exotic armor that makes them stand out from the rest, something to help them survive during an encounter, and something to boost their damage output to make dealing with Minor and Major enemies much easier.
Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk does both of these things very, very well.
Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk has the Exotic Perk See Me, Feel Me, giving your Void weapons Volatile Rounds after exiting invisibility, causing them to explode and deal AoE damage to nearby enemies while piercing the shields of Barrier Champions to stun them.
Defeating an enemy with a finisher move while invisible will boost your weapon damage and give you, as well as any nearby allies, a reserve overshield that is consumed the next time they activate their Class ability.
On its own, this Exotic doesn’t sound insane. The overshield is nice to have and can come in clutch in certain situations and the boost to weapon damage is nice.
The Volatile Rounds is, surprisingly, what makes this Exotic so good.
Since Void 3.0 subclasses were added to Destiny 2, Void debuffs have become very important. Many Aspects and Fragments take advantage of enemies who are Volatile from Volatile Rounds.
The Stylish Executioner Aspect will grant you invisibility and True Sight whenever you defeat an enemy that is weakened, suppressed, or Volatile.
This means that after exiting invisibility with Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk equipped, your Void weapons will gain Volatile Rounds.
Killing an enemy with your Volatile Rounds will trigger Flawless Executioner, granting your invisibility and True Sight.
Firing your weapon will make you leave invisibility and gain Volatile Rounds again, allowing you to repeat this gameplay loop and have near-infinite invisibility and Volatile Rounds.
To begin the invisibility train, Hunters have the option of using either the Trapper’s Ambush or Vanishing Step Aspect before relying solely on Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk to handle the rest.
You will need a Void weapon to take advantage of Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk’s Perk. Funnelweb is a very common Void SMG that pairs perfectly with this Loadout.
You also have Graviton Lance and Le Monarque for Void Exotic weapons.
There are plenty of ways you can flesh out this Void 3.0 build.
For Fragments, you have Echo of Obscurity to give you invisibility on finisher final blows, pairing perfectly with the bonus health and weapon damage that Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk grants.
Echo of Cessation causes finisher moves to create a burst of Void damage to nearby enemies and make them Volatile.
Defeating Volatile enemies will create Void Breach, an elemental pickup that you can throw to deal Void damage.
Echo of Starvation plays off this perfectly. Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power will grant you the Devour Perk, causing all final blows to grant grenade energy, regenerate health, and extend the duration of the Devour.
Finally, Echo of Persistence makes all of your Void buffs have an extended duration. This includes any invisibility, overshields, or Devour activations.
Overall, Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is a very good PvE Exotic that becomes subclass-defining when paired with the Void 3.0 builds available to Hunter.
Being able to maintain invisibility throughout the encounter while buffing your weapon damage and regenerating health is all you could ever ask for from an Exotic armor piece.
Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is a must-have for any Hunter main who wants to carry their Fireteam through the end-game of Destiny 2.
