How to Get Mementos in Destiny 2
One of the most iconic pieces of end-game content for MMOs is rare cosmetics. This is true for just about every MMO available today, and Destiny 2 is no exception.
Mementos allow players to further customize any weapons that they have crafted with some unique features that won’t be found on non-crafted weapon variants.
These customization options will set your weapons apart from the rest of the players.
There are three types of Mementos currently available in Destiny 2, the Gambit Memento, the Trials Memento, and the Nightfall Memento.
Each Memento is rewarded at the end of its respective activity, with Gambit being more luck-based than skill-based.
Players who reach The Lighthouse in Trials of Osiris with a Flawless Passage will be rewarded with a Trials of Osiris Memento from the Flawless chest, capped at one Memento rewarded per week.
Players who complete the weekly Grandmaster Nightfall will similarly be rewarded with a Nightfall Memento from the final chest of the activity, which is also capped at one Memento per weekly reset.
Unlike the other two Mementos, the Gambit Memento is randomly rewarded to players who complete a Gambit match.
You do not have to win the Gambit match for a chance to get the Memento, though having a win stream will increase your chances of a Memento dropping.
You can only hold one Memento in your inventory at a time, regardless of its type. It is a good idea to use your Mementos as soon as you get them if you plan on obtaining any more of them any time soon.
As Mementos are very rare to obtain, they come with a certain level of prestige that veteran Guardians are after and serve as the perfect cosmetic reward for end-game activities.
If you are looking for something that will set you apart from the rest of the players in your games, Mementos are a good choice.
How to Use Mementos
Once you get a Memento from either Trials of Osiris, Nightfalls, or Gambit, you will want to head to The Enclave on Mars with your favorite crafted weapon on hand.
Once there, begin the weapon crafting process and choose either to craft a new weapon or reshape an existing weapon.
During the crafting or reshaping process, you will see a new slot available for your weapon, the Memento slot. You can consume your Memento to enhance the appearance options of your crafted weapon.
These enhancements are segmented into three different tiers that are each locked behind weapon levels.
After applying the Memento to your weapon, it will gain a stat tracker for the specific game mode that is associated with the Memento used, tracking any further kills acquired in the chosen game mode.
Leveling the Memento weapon up to level 20 will unlock a unique Title-specific to the Memento used.
These titles include Pathmaker for the Trials of Osiris Memento, Primeval Usurper for the Gambit Memento, and Dusk Tamer for the Nightfall Memento.
Upgrading your crafted Memento weapon to level 30 will unlock a unique Shader that is only available on Memento weapons.
These Shaders include the Gleaming Keepsake Shader for the Trials of Osiris Memento, the Scaly Keepsake Shader for the Gambit Memento, and the Triumphant Keepsake Shader for the Nightfall Memento.
Mementos may be rare but with a little skill and determination, you can go and get a Memento today.
I hope this guide helped you better understand how Momentos work and where you can get them. Do you have any other questions about Mementos? Feel free to leave a comment!
