What Is Iron Banner in Destiny 2?
Iron Banner has evolved quite a bit over the last year.
What used to be a light level-enabled PVP mode geared towards the best of players has now become more accessible to players of all skill levels, no longer penalizing you for being under-leveled.
Today, Iron Banner is an event that just about every Destiny 2 player looks forward to, as it brings new ways to earn high-stat armor that can be used across the many activities Destiny 2 has to offer.
How Does It Work?
If you are getting ready to load into your very first match of Iron Banner, there are a few mechanics you will want to know about.
First, Iron Banner is based on the Control PVP game mode, with a twist.
When one team captures all three Zones, The Hunt begins. This locks all of the capture Zones for about 30 seconds. During this time, the team that captured all of the Zones will gain additional points for every elimination they get.
Second, Heavy ammo crates are shared between teammates, meaning it is very important to secure this objective for your team.
Third, you will gain reputation for both Salladin and Shaxx for completing Iron Banner matches, gaining more Salladin reputation for every piece of Iron Banner-related gear you have on.
Why Play Iron Banner?
Iron Banner is a great resource for strong end-game gear.
You’ll need to reset your reputation rank with Salladin for the best Iron Banner has to offer. This can be time-consuming, though Bungie has made it easier in recent seasons.
Iron Banner is only available for three weeks every season. This should give you plenty of time to get all of the gear you need from the activity.
That’s all you need to know about Iron Banner in Destiny 2!
