Reaching level 50 is the first and primary task you have in Lost Ark.
At level 50, you unlock all the end-game content, including raids and chaos dungeons, as well as have access to a lot of areas in the game.

As you don’t have access to what most players believe is the true content of Lost Ark before reaching level 50, many new players understandably want to reach it as soon as possible.
The fastest way to level from 1-50 in Lost Ark is by exclusively following the main questline and ignoring all side objectives and quests.
Following some side questlines that take you to the same area that you are going for main quests only slows you down a bit overall, but roster questlines and non Combat XP giving quests should be ignored when power leveling.

What is the fastest way to level up to 50 in Lost Ark?
A lot of players want to reach level 50 in Lost Ark as quickly as possible, as that’s when you unlock all the main PvE content like raids. You start the game at level 10, and the maximum level is 60.
To reach level 50 as fast as possible in Lost Ark, follow the main questline exclusively and ignore any side objectives for now. That’s the overall strategy that’ll get you to 50 the fastest – to optimize your leveling speed even further. You can follow the leveling tips in the next paragraph.
Along your leveling journey in Lost Ark, you’ll notice that most of the side quests that you can do ask you to go or do something in the area that you’re already going for your main questline.
Even though the side quests take you to the same area where you’re going with the main questline, it is a bit faster to ignore those as well. The reason is that they make you complete main quests slower, and the main quests give far more XP.
We aren’t, however, talking about a large time difference, and if you don’t complete the sidequests now, you have to go back and complete them later if you want to fill up the various systems in the game.
For most players, it’s probably preferable to do them as you level up so you don’t have to go back later.
What you should, however, completely ignore if you’re focused on quickly leveling up are side objectives like Trade Skills, the Rapport system, and collectibles.
You should also ignore quests that give no Combat XP, like roster quests that only give Roster XP.
Main questline leveling progression
The main questline in Lost Ark takes you all over the world, but not through all of the areas of the game.
All of the left side of the world map in Lost Ark can first be accessed after reaching level 50, having reached 460 item level, and having completed the quest A New Voyage.
Here are all the continents and islands the main questline content takes you through while leveling from 10 to 50 in Lost Ark:
- Rethramis
- Yudia
- West Luterra
- East Luterra
- Tortoyk
- Anikka
- Arthetine
- North Vern
Depending on how much side content you skip, you will reach level 50 in either Arthetine or North Vern.
Your journey begins in Rethramis at level 10, where you start learning about the Arks and the demons of the world.
The main questline to follow are the quests indicated by the orange icon, which you can see in the image below.
Quests from the main questline also say Main above their title in the Quest Journal, which you can open by pressing ‘J’.
You progress through the four continents, Rethramis, Yudia, West Luterra, and East Luterra, helping against the demons while completing other objectives, including helping Thirain, a key character in the story, without spoiling anything.
After your tasks are done in East Luterra, you unlock sailing and are ready to take on adventures on new islands.
When you reach this point, you have the quest Finding the Arks, but the main questline to follow is the blue questline on each major island. Learn more here.
Once you’ve completed the questlines on Tortoyk, Anikka, and Arthetine, you can move onto North Vern, where you’ll unlock the end-game content.
Power leveling tips
You now know that the best strategy to level up quickly in Lost Ark is by following the main questline exclusively.
To further increase your leveling speed, there are some tips that you should follow.
Here are leveling tips that you should keep in mind if you wish to level up as fast as possible in Lost Ark:
- Ignore mobs that you don’t need to defeat for a quest
- Don’t do side objectives for now
- Always use mounts and their speedups if they have any
- Click the compass icon to see the exact quest location
- Only do dungeons on normal mode
- Skip cutscenes and prologues
- Spend skill points on high-damage AoE skills
- Use battle items on high-hp monsters and bosses
You, of course, don’t have to follow all of these or any. It’s entirely up to you how you want to play Lost Ark.
All of these tips will, however, make you level up faster, so if that’s your goal, you can follow as many of them as you want to.
Regular mobs that appear all over the world of Lost Ark give next to no Combat XP compared to quests. Therefore, you don’t want to stop up and defeat mobs that you don’t need to defeat for a quest. Just run to the next quest location.
There are many side objectives to do like gathering resources from Trade Skills, building a reputation with Rapport NPCs, and finding collectibles. These can all be done at a later point and won’t give you any Combat XP.
If you want to level as quickly as possible, you should ignore all sidequests, but for most players, it’s preferable to just do them as you level up, as they still give Combat XP and usually are in the same area as your main quests. You can read more about this in the first paragraph.
Make sure to always use your mount to get from one quest to another, and if they have any dash or speed boost, use that as well. If a mount has a speed boost, it’s either in the skill panel or is bound to the spacebar.
Some of the quests in the main questline that you get require you to go to another map. In this case, click the compass icon in the top-right corner of the quest information box on the right side of the screen to see its location. Then use Triports to get there if you have any. Otherwise, use your mount.
You’ll be going through several dungeons while completing the main questline in the game. Only do dungeons on normal mode if you wish to level up quickly, as they’re faster to complete, and the only reward for doing hard mode is better gear, which you’ll be replacing after a couple of levels either way.
To save some time and thereby level up faster, skip any cutscenes and prologues that can be skipped by pressing ESC.
While you level up, you get skill points to upgrade your skills. Spend them on the skills your class has that deal the most AoE damage so you can quickly take out several enemies when completing quests.
You’ll receive several battle items from various sources while leveling up. It’s a great idea to use battle items on enemies with lots of HP to take them down faster.
How to level up from 50-60
The maximum level in Lost Ark isn’t 50, even though that’s when you unlock almost all content in the game. Level 60 is the maximum level.
There isn’t, however, much reason to actively focus on leveling from 50 to 60, as it requires enormous amounts of Combat XP to level up after reaching level 50.
You do get more skill points by leveling up after level 50, and some smaller systems are first available at levels between 50 and 60, but the main objective for you after reaching 50 is to grow your character stronger by acquiring new gear and honing it, unlocking engravings, getting the right gems, and more.
You will, without thinking about it, slowly level up towards 60 by just completing the various objectives that you need to do to make your character stronger.
Most of the Combat XP you get after reaching level 50 still comes from various quests.
Again, it’s far from recommended to focus on leveling after reaching level 50. You should focus on making your character stronger instead.
That’s how to level up to 50 in Lost Ark quickly!
