How to Marry Other Players in Stardew Valley

Normally, to marry a villager in Stardew Valley, you would need to get your hands on a Mermaid’s Pendant. However, marriage with other players is a bit different.

How to Get a Wedding Ring in Stardew Valley

To marry other players in Stardew Valley, you will first need to get your hands on a wedding ring. Unfortunately, you can’t buy this item from any merchant in Pelican Town.

If you want to propose to other players, you will have to craft your own wedding ring. To get the wedding ring recipe, you will need to check in with the Traveling Cart every Friday and Sunday.

In case you don’t know, the Traveling Cart is a place south of your farm, northwest of the lake there, where a trader appears every Friday and Sunday. This Traveling Merchant will have a random selection of 10 items and has one of the largest stocks out of all the traders in Stardew Valley.

You can find almost any item, including the wedding ring recipe. As long as you are playing multiplayer, she will always have the wedding ring recipe in stock. If you are playing single-player, she will never give you the chance to make this ring.

Just find her on Friday or Sunday and buy the wedding ring recipe for 500 g. Unfortunately, that was the easy part. To actually make the wedding ring, you will need 5 iridium bars and 1 prismatic shard.

All of these items are late-game materials that rookies won’t be able to find in the first few in-game seasons. So, if you want to get married to other players in Stardew Valley, just know you won’t be able to do it from the start.

Getting Married to Other Players

Now that you’ve crafted the wedding ring, to marry other players in Stardew Valley, you just need to approach them while the ring is in hand and interact with the marriage candidate.

The game will ask you if you are sure that you want to marry that person, and you will have to say yes. Then, the other players will also get a similar question while you wait for their response.

If they accept, the game will tell you that your marriage will happen in 3 days. From this point on, the process works exactly the same as it would with a normal marriage with an NPC. The marriage itself will be exactly the same, as Lewis’ text doesn’t change.

After the ceremony is done, you will find a Stardrop in a purple box next to the bed. Normally, you would get this from your NPC spouse.

Since the wedding ring doesn’t have any other uses anymore, you can sell it for 1k g at the Adventurer’s Guild or at the Shipping Bin.

Later in the game, one of the spouses might get the choice to propose having children. Yes, you can also have children with other players in Stardew Valley.
