Selling, Storing, and Recruiting Prisoners in Bannerlord
There are only three things you can do with your prisoners in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord:
- Sell them
- Store them
- Recruit them
Ransoming Prisoners
Each one of these is a valid choice depending on your playstyle. Selling prisoners is one of the most lucrative businesses you can have in Bannerlord. Want to make money fast in Bannerlord? Capture prisoners and sell them.
To sell prisoners in Bannerlord, all you need to do is:
- Head to the closest town.
- Open the tavern menu.
- Click the option to ransom them.
The amount of money you will get will change depending on the tier of the prisoners. Higher-tier troops will get you more money.
If you really want to make a lot of money, try to capture a lot of cavalry troops. Their horses will be added to the price you get for them, making you a small fortune.
Storing Prisoners in Fiefs
If you have a castle or a town, you can always store some of the prisoners in them. You can do this if you want to collect some prisoners for the specific quests where you will have to give them over.
You can also deposit noble prisoners in your keep, so make space for more prisoners in your party.
The last reason would be to stockpile them and sell them all together to get more Roguery experience.
Recruiting Prisoners in Bannerlord
Most players will sell the lower-tier prisoners and recruit the higher-tier troops. You can recruit your prisoners by just holding onto them. You only need to have the prisoners in your party, and at some point, they will want to join you.
You can see if you can recruit them from your party menu by clicking on them. Players can see if they can recruit prisoners in Bannerlord if they can press the “Recruit” button next to the one that allows them to be released.
The higher the tier of the troop, the longer it will take until they become available for recruitment. You will also get a little morale debuff for every prisoner you recruit into the party.
Also, nobles cannot be recruited into your party. All you can do when it comes to nobles is to either execute them or wait for a ransom offer from their clan.
That’s everything you need to know about what to do with prisoners in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord!
