AFK Arena has remained one of the top-grossing mobile games throughout the entirety of 2020.
Released in early 2019, AFK Arena has kept its position as one of the most-played Idle RPG mobile games since its sharp rise in popularity shortly after its release.
AFK Arena makes $1.45 billion in revenue in 2020
Being its highest-earning title in 2020, AFK Arena has brought in 1.45 billion dollars worth of revenue to Lilith Games in the same period, according to SuperData’s 2020 Year In Review report.
This makes AFK Arena the eighth highest-earning free-to-play title in 2020 and the number one earning RPG title in 2020, according to the same report.
Surpassed by titles including Honor of Kings, Pokemon Go, Roblox, and League of Legends, AFK Arena is the only RPG mobile game to take a spot on the list.

These incredible revenue results come after aggressive marketing of the game, including collaborations with well-known individuals, shows, and games.
Here is an overview of the Google search volume for AFK Arena compared to other popular RPG mobile titles throughout 2020.
Especially towards the end of 2020, AFK Arena saw a rise in popularity worldwide.
The reason behind this can partly be attributed to promotional campaigns.
Starting in October of 2020, Elijah Wood, best known for his role as Frodo in Lord of the Rings, started doing promotional videos for AFK Arena and has so far featured in six of them.
Having sponsored several content creators before, Lilith Games had never involved anyone as much before as when they added Markiplier into the Tavern in the game following the release of an “Official Trailer” for the game on Markiplier’s channel. The video was, of course, sponsored.
Other major milestones for AFK Arena in 2020 include collaborations with the anime Overlord and the video games Persona 5 and Assassin’s Creed.
In all collaborations, characters from the anime and the video games were added to AFK Arena for players to collect and use in battle.
As of this writing, AFK Arena has almost 3 million ratings with an average score of 4.6 on Google Play and around 340 thousand ratings on the App Store with an average rating of 4.7.
