There are several quests in Lost Ark that require you to use a specific emote in front of an NPC, and you do not have all emotes by default.
One of the emotes that you’ll need for some quests in the game is the Polite emote.

Unlike several emotes in the game, you do not obtain the Polite emote from the main questline, which means you might find yourself needing to use it for a quest but not having it.
To get the Polite emote in Lost Ark, you need to complete the side questline ‘Page Turners’ from the NPC Bookaholic Boris, who is located on the left side of the Termia Library in Luterra Castle.
Upon completing his questline, you’ll obtain the item Emote: Polite, which you can use in your inventory to learn the Polite emote.

How to learn the Polite emote in Lost Ark
You get the Polite emote in Lost Ark by completing the questline ‘Page Turners’, which is a side questline from the NPC Bookaholic Boris.
Bookaholic Boris is located on the left side of the Termia Library. The Termia Library is located on the left side of the Luterra Castle.
You can see the exact location of the Termia Library in Luterra Castle in the image below.
The questline that Boris gives you takes you around the Library and other places in Luterra Castle, and ends with you speaking to Anessa on the right side inside the Luterra Palace.
You have to be at least level 30 to start the questline to get the Polite emote, and, of course, also have reached Luterra Castle.
At the end of the questline, Anessa will give you the Polite emote and teach you how to use it.
Once Anessa has given you the book to learn the Polite emote, simply click it in your inventory, and you’ve learned how to use the Polite emote.
You can now find it in your Emotes catalog through the Community tab in the bottom-right menu.
