In addition to Nintendo announcing a brand new Pokemon-themed OLED Switch, they also unveiled a few new Pokemon Scarlet & Violet details as well as three new Pokemon.
Gameplay Updates
Trainers in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet start the game as students who are part of a study project called “A Treasure Hunt”. As this new Pokemon game will be based in an open world, you will get to choose between three separate stories intertwined throughout your adventures in the Paldea region.
The three different stories are:
- Victory Road will be your traditional go to various gyms to achieve the rank of Champion.
- Path of Legends will have players and Upperclassmen Arven searching for rare ingredients called Herba Mystica.
- Starfall Street will have players taking on Team Star, a group of kids causing trouble for the school.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainers will also gain a new exploring feature called Let’s GO! While exploring the Paldea region, you can have a Pokemon exploring with you.
Trainers can use the “Let’s GO!” feature to send their Pokemon in a specific direction to pick up items in the area and have Auto Battles with nearby Pokemon.
Three New Pokemon
In addition to brand new Pokemon throughout the Paldea region, Nintendo took the time to unveil three new ones.
Armarouge
Armarouge is a fire/psychic type Pokemon, a distinguished warrior whose source of energy comes from its armor. Trainers can only find Armarouge in Pokemon Scarlet.

Ceruledge
Ceruledge is a fire/ghost type Pokemon, whose armor is steeped in grudges and wields blades made of fire and ghost energy. Trainers can only find Ceruledge in Pokemon Violet.

Klawf
Klawf is an ambush-type Pokemon, capable of rotating its eyeballs and eliminating blind spots. They can latch upside on cliffs, but only for a period of time before they get dizzy. Klawf can only be found in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
