The only way you can romance a character in Stardew Valley is by giving them gifts. The more gifts you give someone, the more friendship points you will get.

What Gifts Does Abigail Like and Love in Stardew Valley
Villagers in Stardew Valley can have four different reactions to gifts: hate, neutral, like, or love. Since you probably want to increase your relationship with Abigail, we will only list the items that she likes and loves.
A friendship heart in Stardew Valley is worth 250 friendship points. A “love” gift will get you 80 points and a “like” gift will give you 45. Giving a gift on someone’s birthday also increases those values 8 times.
There are some items that are considered universally loved by all NPCs, and Abigail also loves them. These items are the Golden Pumpkin, Magic Rock Candy, Pearl, Prismatic Shard, and Rabbit’s Foot.
Otherwise, Abigail generally seems to like items that are purple. Even if you went to the movies with her, the best food you can choose are the purple ones (Rock Candy and Stardrop Sorbet). However, surprisingly, she does not like the purple mushroom. The item gets a neutral reaction from her.
