Can You Attach Bait To Any Fishing Rod in Stardew Valley?
First of all, there are only two fishing rods on which you can attach Bait in Stardew Valley:
- Fiberglass Rod
- Iridium Rod
You cannot put Bait into the Bamboo Pole and the Training Rod. So, if you can’t attach Bait even after reading the guide below, then you need to check what fishing rod you are using.
How to Attach Bait in Stardew Valley on PC
To attach Bait to a fishing rod in Stardew Valley, you will need to open up your inventory, pick up the Bait by pressing the left mouse button, hovering over the fishing rod, and then pressing the right mouse button.
This will place all of the Bait that you picked up “inside” the fishing rod. This means that you can place at least 999 Bait inside a fishing rod without any problems, as the rod works as an inventory slot for Bait.
How to Attach Bait on PlayStation
On the PlayStation, or with a PlayStation controller, you will have to open up the inventory, press X on the Bait to get the whole stack, move the bait to look at the fishing rod, and then press square to attach the Bait in Stardew Valley.
To detach the Bait from the fishing rod, you will just have to select it in your inventory screen and press X.
How to Attach Bait on Xbox
On the Xbox, or with an Xbox controller, you will have to open up the inventory, press A while the Bait is selected, move to the fishing rod while holding the Bait, and then press X to attach it to the fishing rod in Stardew Valley.
To detach the Bait, you will just have to select the fishing rod in your inventory and press X.
How to Attach Bait on the Nintendo Switch
To attach Bait in the Nintendo Switch version of Stardew Valley, you will need to select the Bait by pressing A in the inventory to get all of them, move while holding the Bait to look at the fishing rod, and then press Y to attach it.
To detach the Bait from the fishing rod, just press Y while looking at the rod in the inventory screen.
How to Attach Bait on Mobile
The mobile version of Stardew Valley has the easiest method to attach Bait to a fishing rod: just open the inventory and drag the Bait over the fishing rod. As long as the rod can actually hold Bait, this should work.
